In days before the Earth was made,
Before the gods were born,
There lived a creature dark and cold;
A mind without a form.
He lived in all of space alone;
No sun to tell the hour.
But not for light or star He craved
For darkness was His power.
For time untold His power grew.
His ego became great.
He thought His power would stand alone
Till time came to abate.
Content He was to contemplate
His power and His might.
Absorbed in thoughts about Himself,
He failed to see the Light.
Alone it came into the realm;
A light amidst the gloom.
It soon was joined by others and
A brilliance came to bloom.
The brilliance grew as other sparks
Appeared to feed the fire.
And in the blaze a mind was born;
Creation its desire.
With joy She looked upon herself
And saw perfection there
Then others like herself She made
With light and ten

In my dreams, I fly again.
I close my eyes and, once more, I've got that line tight in my grip. My fingers are gloved, my face is masked. I can breathe again. I can breathe the air of the night, can breathe in every sound and every sight as the city does its dance of darkness. I can feel the sirens blaring in the distance, their pulsating lights creating a vibration against my skin.
I'm free again.
I can race forward, running on my own two feet, my legs long and lean, my heart pounding against my chest, shooting me with adrenaline like a drug. Fresh, alive, healthy. Not a single thought of doubt crosses my mind as I take that leap, as I dive headlong off another rooftop. I cast my line and it reels me back in and I fly like a spider, like a bird through the open air. I laugh. I cry. I feel something and that's what matters.
And then I'm falling, tumbling, and I remember reality.
My eyes flash open as I wake with a start. I stare ahead of me for a moment, recovering

The alarm rang, its harsh shriek shattering Lucy's uneasy slumbers. Opening her eyes she glanced across at the numbers on the dial. Ten to nine. She read the clock face again. Still ten to nine. With an exhaled profanity she threw back the covers and jumped from the bed. Bare feet hitting cold stone. She glanced wildly around the room for any moderately clean garments and sighting a pair of semi-laddered tights and a black work dress draped rather forlornly over the door handle, she scrabbled to put them on. Glancing over to the clock again Lucy uttered another curse. She was going to be late. She'd have to tell them there was a bomb drill in her building. She wondered briefly if anyone would bother to check up. Probably not.
Once dressed, Lucy made her way into the kitchen, no longer feeling the need for urgency. If she was going to be late she might as well make the most of it.
The apartment was small but adequate; one bedroom, one kitchen and living area, a small bathroom with a sho

Starfire sat on her bed, leaning up against the backboard. Her eyes were half closed, she felt overly warm but pleasantly so. She sighed, long and slow, and looked up, smiling. She giggled a little, and looked back down.
"This is most delightful" she said cheerfully to herself in an idle sort of way. She reached her hand down, and clicked. The sound of electrical humming sounded out through the silent room as Starfire felt her legs vibrate a little. Suddenly there was a knock upon her door, and she looked up again. The door opened before she could reply, and framed in the doorway stood Robin. He looked around, and then appeared rather taken aback.
"Starfire?" he asked, sounding frankly surprised. Starfire smiled back at him, employing the same carefree-grin she always did, devoid of any indication that she knew whether or not she was doing something odd. She still hadn't

I sighed, leaning back in my office chair as I scanned the contents of the file that I held. It was late, well after the office's closing time. There was a lot of work that needed to be done for the meeting that was being held tomorrow afternoon, a company wide meeting that was a very big deal.
As head of my division, I'd elected to stay overtime to make sure all the necessary documents were in order. Now I wished that I would've accepted Petra's offer to stay and help, instead of sending her home.
I glanced at my watch, the time reading eleven forty pm. Deciding to call it a night, I packed up my stuff and exited the building, biding farewell to the night guard named Jean.
Unfortunately for me, I'd just missed the last bus that went to my street. I was, however, lucky enough that I didn't live too far from work, my apartment being about three blocks

As the water moved smoothly over the sandy shore, the sea looked as though it were a rippled mirror that reflected such natural beauty back towards the sky, doing all it could to repay the firmament for such elegance. You know, there are heroes out there. Real heroes, not just the ones you read about in comic books or watch on television.
And some of them don't need over glorified toys or radioactive powers. All they need are a few seconds of bravery and the will to fight for whatever they believe in. Most people have lost touch with that these days. But there are still some people who put others before themselves. Who thinks of his fellow man's safety instead of his own. Some can be as everyday as a fireman going into a burning building. Or some can be extraordinary like that guy who landed the plane in the river. These are the heroes that we should look up to everyday and the heroes that Hollywood should make movies about. No matter what the cause or case, heroes can come in all shapes, sizes, colors- and in my case, species.
The Rescue Rangers have been my heroes since childhood. Everyday my mom would tell me about their marvelous adventures looking for lost cats, stopping

The glances that I take are fearful and too fleeting,
Too soon for my maker that Im destined to be meeting,
An escape is exactly what I need.
These people, costume heavy, play pranks that are too cruel,
Playing them on all to make others look a fool,
And now they say Im next, as goes the Terror Rule
I mustnt let the bullied plans succeed.
Crossing field, over road, and on the path of dirt,
I continued my own trekking, lest I soon be hurt,
Sweat from my brow has now begun to squirt,
And, such luck, I can see my domicile.
But then I see the bullies, their cars now in my way,
Blocking front and back, forcing me to stay
As they grab their vandal weapons, all ready to play,
Forcing me to stay there for a while.
Time had come and gone, and all was such a blur,
I entered into my house, the only one to stir,
I failed, the pranks were something that I could not deter,
Eggs and tissue, on my body, could be seen.
TAoSaI: Chapter 0One day, within the massive jungles in a far off land, a girl made the life-changing decision to be one with nature. She had brown hair, her bangs hanging off of either side, a ball of brown hair on the back, spiked towards the skies above. Deep, blue eyes that sparkled like pristine gems, and fair skin that looked smooth, soft to the touch. She wore nothing more than a leaf bra, and a grass skirt for clothing. This provided her with the movement needed to survive in this treacherous enviornment. This girl's name, was no other than the fifteen year old, Sapphire. Alongside her was her companion, a bright orange chick with the ability to spew out flames. This was no other than the fire-type, Torchic. A decade down the line,
The siblings two ate ice cream cones
As the sun did shine.
The boy, nineteen, had a chocolate treat
Double scooped, just like before
And his sis, twenty-one, with a single scoop
Of vanilla, she did adore.
Both were very happy
Eating cream of white and brown,
When again the boy licked just too hard
And a scoop fell to the ground.
The girl looked over, grinning sly,
"You dropped your scoop again?
Though the years did pass us by,
You've still not learned a thing."
She then went back to her own cone
And gave a little lick.
But, just like that day way back when,
The cream fell off quite quick.
The boy looked at the spattered treat,
And then, his face with grin,
"Yours fell again, just like before,
With my one left, I win."
The cream then moved onto his nose,
Her hand the one that pushed,
"Why don't you try your treat now,
After it's been smooshed?"
She walked away, his nose now brown,
And smiling, nice and fine.
He removed the cream and gave a

It was a late Summer morning. A little boy was lying on the floor of his room. With pencil in hand and paper before him, he tried his best to continue the poem that he had started.

"Sure, no problem," she replied, walking into the room. She crouched down beside him, knees together as she straightened her yellow dress. She looked down at the paper before him and read the first few lines of his work.
"What'cha workin' on, Bro?" she questioned.
"I wanted to try my hand at a little bit of poetry. Y'know, something simple yet effective, not too advanced,

May Break My Bones,
But Words will Never Hurt Me.
This sayings for show,
For most people do know
How powerful words can be.
Words can cause Love
From the Heavens above
And make a life seem quite placid.
From what some others tell,
They can also raise Hell
And burn as though they were acid.
Words can cause pain;
Not on body, but in brain
And can cause a change of ones emotion
Be it written or said,
They well get in a head
And cause thoughts of permutable notion
These words are all dealt,
Depending on how they are felt,
With either good or bad sensation;
Some fall into doubt
And trade within for without,
Even leading to self-mutilation.
You can go grab your sticks,
Your axes, your picks,
And a boulder or rock or stone;
Compared to words that we speak,
These weapons are quite weak,
Even if they can really break bone.
So be careful with words,
Be them read, be them heard,
Be them used to boast up or to shrink.

A small place on the big white table opened and a mug appeared. Trisha watched Ed for a second. "You are not perfectly healthy, my dear. You should do more exercise and eat more vegetables. Your body is low on Calcium and Magnesium-" The blond slammed his hand down on the table.
