Story of Light1.Story of Light8 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
In days before the Earth was made,
Before the gods were born,
There lived a creature dark and cold;
A mind without a form.
He lived in all of space alone;
No sun to tell the hour.
But not for light or star He craved
For darkness was His power.
For time untold His power grew.
His ego became great.
He thought His power would stand alone
Till time came to abate.
Content He was to contemplate
His power and His might.
Absorbed in thoughts about Himself,
He failed to see the Light.
Alone it came into the realm;
A light amidst the gloom.
It soon was joined by others and
A brilliance came to bloom.
The brilliance grew as other sparks
Appeared to feed the fire.
And in the blaze a mind was born;
Creation its desire.
With joy She looked upon herself
And saw perfection there
Then others like herself She made
With light and ten

In my dreams, I fly again.
I close my eyes and, once more, I've got that line tight in my grip. My fingers are gloved, my face is masked. I can breathe again. I can breathe the air of the night, can breathe in every sound and every sight as the city does its dance of darkness. I can feel the sirens blaring in the distance, their pulsating lights creating a vibration against my skin.
I'm free again.
I can race forward, running on my own two feet, my legs long and lean, my heart pounding against my chest, shooting me with adrenaline like a drug. Fresh, alive, healthy. Not a single thought of doubt crosses my mind as I take that leap, as I dive headlong off another rooftop. I cast my line and it reels me back in and I fly like a spider, like a bird through the open air. I laugh. I cry. I feel something and that's what matters.
And then I'm falling, tumbling, and I remember reality.
My eyes flash open as I wake with a start. I stare ahead of me for a moment, recovering

Farewell Avengers, see you in THE AFTER LIFE!
Tigra threw up her arms in a defensive motion as the mad wizards dome of light radiated faster then even Quicksilver could react, and in an instant she found herself swallowed by it, the world spinning out of control to her heightened senses before all went to black.
Tigra awoke with a groan, her body soar, as she got to her feet, a stiff breeze blowing down the alley made her nipples stand erect beneath her thick coat of fur. Popping her back and stretching her limbs she looked around the alley quickly as her eyes drew into slits and adjusted to the light. A moment later the breeze caught her attention once more as her eyes quickly inspected her striped body, all seemed intact except

Starfire sat on her bed, leaning up against the backboard. Her eyes were half closed, she felt overly warm but pleasantly so. She sighed, long and slow, and looked up, smiling. She giggled a little, and looked back down.
"This is most delightful" she said cheerfully to herself in an idle sort of way. She reached her hand down, and clicked. The sound of electrical humming sounded out through the silent room as Starfire felt her legs vibrate a little. Suddenly there was a knock upon her door, and she looked up again. The door opened before she could reply, and framed in the doorway stood Robin. He looked around, and then appeared rather taken aback.
"Starfire?" he asked, sounding frankly surprised. Starfire smiled back at him, employing the same carefree-grin she always did, devoid of any indication that she knew whether or not she was doing something odd. She still hadn't

The plains in which he walked were surprisingly green and placid, an ironic contrast to the barren land and bare hills within the distance. He lifted his head to the sky but for a moment, taking notice of the noon sun above him. A cool breeze kissed his skin, so as to help alleviate him on this travels. He gave a soft sigh, smiling at the peace that was briefly given to him.
From behind him, a slight crackling sound could be heard, multicolored flashes apparent from his peripheral vision. In one brief motion, he grabbed the sword at his side and turned, withdrawing it as he did so, and pointed it directly at the one behind him. Fully turned, he called out the name of the one he felt

While the female in question explored fruitful creek
And met with a young male of a specific parlance;
She could already tell that his intellect was advanced.
Though she remained in that one world, the duo traversed nine,
Each realm held a difference, held its own set design.

She had indeed came a long way. For such a girl of little acknowledgment, importance and physical possession of power, she was strong, plucky, dexterous, swift and rapid like an animal predator, but so gentle and fluid in her dancing. England was the first to learn of her witty, narky tongue when he snatched her and the island away from her dearest Papa France.
Years ago when she was still a child, he had once tried to convince her to come out of her bedroom and buy her forgiveness and love, with dinner and useless trinkets that he had stolen from his pirate youth.
He still remembers the coldness in her expression, the tears that soaked her honey-hazel eyes and the messy black hair that draped her shoulders down to her back.

I sighed, leaning back in my office chair as I scanned the contents of the file that I held. It was late, well after the office's closing time. There was a lot of work that needed to be done for the meeting that was being held tomorrow afternoon, a company wide meeting that was a very big deal.
As head of my division, I'd elected to stay overtime to make sure all the necessary documents were in order. Now I wished that I would've accepted Petra's offer to stay and help, instead of sending her home.
I glanced at my watch, the time reading eleven forty pm. Deciding to call it a night, I packed up my stuff and exited the building, biding farewell to the night guard named Jean.
Unfortunately for me, I'd just missed the last bus that went to my street. I was, however, lucky enough that I didn't live too far from work, my apartment being about three blocks

The only real reason that he was coming over, though, was because his scythe was missing, and he knew that Billy had something to do with it.
"I could have chosen chess, or checkers, or even Tiddlywinks," Grim grumbled, making his way to Mandy's room after he got to her house, "but no, I choose da Limbo. It was a clever plan, and nice wordplay on where we were. I still think that she cheated somehow."
He made it inside of Mandy's room, only to find Billy, in a panicked state, waiting for him. In his wake was Grim's scythe and a radio, the remains of the plasma lamp behind him, next to the closet.
"Grim! You have to help! Something strange has happened!"

As the water moved smoothly over the sandy shore, the sea looked as though it were a rippled mirror that reflected such natural beauty back towards the sky, doing all it could to repay the firmament for such elegance. Down upon that shore, nary a sound was heard, the night air flowing freely about the area as the waters graced the shells with their salty embrace every now and again.Close Compeers8 years ago in Fantasy More Like This

Realms Adjoined 05After having looked through the window of Ed's room for a moment or two, Mandy finally decided to join in on the activity. She climbed through the window and, upon landing on the floor, took a look around the underground abode. It was dimly lit, discarded food and clothing everywhere. Still, having your bladder force you out of bed earlier than usual on a Saturday isn't quite as enjoyable as one would imagine…if there is actually someone that gets joy from it.
Sliding out of bed, the young girl dragged her feet across her carpet, eyes still closed as she made her way to the bathroom. Running on daily routine alone, she proceeded to go about her business, washing and dressing included, before she made her way back to her room.
Still standing, she placed her head on her bed, sleep still incomplete on her personal agenda.

A loud slam echoed within her house, followed by the cries of a voice so annoying and familiar.

The glances that I take are fearful and too fleeting,
Too soon for my maker that Im destined to be meeting,
An escape is exactly what I need.
These people, costume heavy, play pranks that are too cruel,
Playing them on all to make others look a fool,
And now they say Im next, as goes the Terror Rule
I mustnt let the bullied plans succeed.
Crossing field, over road, and on the path of dirt,
I continued my own trekking, lest I soon be hurt,
Sweat from my brow has now begun to squirt,
And, such luck, I can see my domicile.
But then I see the bullies, their cars now in my way,
Blocking front and back, forcing me to stay
As they grab their vandal weapons, all ready to play,
Forcing me to stay there for a while.
Time had come and gone, and all was such a blur,
I entered into my house, the only one to stir,
I failed, the pranks were something that I could not deter,
Eggs and tissue, on my body, could be seen.
