Taken 30mins or so later from the bird on the boat shot (what did I call it again :-S ) is this one of the old Brighton Pier. Now a wreck it has become a bit of a photography cliche. The birds roost there and so getting a flock of them over the pier requires little forward planning or luck.

The sky looks like waves of the ocean on fire or reflecting a very red sunset.

1/8sec f11/18/22 HDR 3 image composite tweaked in CS2 with some colour balancing and dodging of the foreground.

Nature did the rest.

This image is to the now defunct, shortlived but enjoyable trio of intrepid photogs that I was happy to be part of. But no more. Check out Houser's shot of the same sunset from a different position

Same as the previous really. This time a little later after the tree silhouette was taken as I'd moved from the hill to the lakeside.

This may be the best sunset shot I've ever taken. Love the sky and those amazing swirls in the waves. . . And I'd just about given up on this evening. I'd driven away from Nobbies where the sun was setting behind thick cloud - and then this break appeared. I headed for the nearest beach and this happened!

By the way if you like sunsets you should check out the gallery of Crystal Bakken - She's an amazing photographer who gets very few page views but deserves DDs. . . I'm in awe of her work.

Taken pretty early in the morning, with a hangover and wet feet from the dew, this shot looked nothing until I sorted the contrast in photoshop.

Now I'm pretty pleased with it. I missed the best of the sunrise but there's always next time.
