Way back when Kingdom Hearts II came out, there was a small party. And I brought these little guys, made out of Whoppers, yellow sprinkles, and royal icing!
Heartless copyright Square Enix and Disney.
Though old, when I heard about "Drown Out the Stupid Day," a day to submit good fanart and fanfiction, I remembered how behind I was on all of my art, and decided to upload. And I have to say, the KH fandom can be rather scary...
This was a collaboration with my sister; she asked me to make a heartless plushie, and I agreed to make one... but only on the condition that she find a way to make it glowing eyes!
This took four days to make (^^ not too bad all things considered). I've made a few plushies before, but this is definately the biggest and most complex. It stands at more than half a metre tall (about 1 foot eight inches, I think). The eyes are LEDs, and it has an internal frame made of wire, so it's completely posable and stands on its own no problem.
I absolutely love this thing, it's so cute, evil and huggable. This is a good combination. >_^
EDIT In progress pictures can be found here: [link]
Sorry, no, I won't be making any for sale any time soon. I don't know if I'd be able to part with them.
EDIT 4 Jan 2007
My sewing pattern is now available here: [link]
-Short black toy fur, zip, craft wire, stuffing, LED eyes, wiring, resistors, battery etc,
-About 3-5 hours a day over four days
okee so first off....I AM SO PROUD OF THIS!!!!!! my first serious plushie!!!! EEEEE!!! X3 i kinna didn't know what i was doing because i had never really...done this before O___o IT WAS SO FRUSTRATING!!! i poked myself so much with the needle and the pins >__<!! and the CLOTHES! SO HORRIBLE TO MAKE!!! took FOREVER! still... it came out way better than i thought it would, and im really happy i made it :3. i only wish i hadn't used felt though... >___<!!! that's all there was at michael's! ARGHH!!! this was made because im KH2 obsessed and want the game to come out right now and i NEED something to hug for comfort >_< and sora ish so hot! i wish i made his legs longer though...so his shorts actually look like shorts... -__-
his gloves aren't done yet, and i still have to make the keyblade, but i dunno when that'll happen...so i decided to post this now...considering i havent posted anything in forever er...hope you like? it's cool to have something diff in my gallery
sora is property of squeenix...so he's not mine obviously >.> well...he is...but not...technically ^_^;; so....yeah.
Here is my updated version of Kairi's Lucky Charm (the first version can be found here: [link] ). This one is a lot tougher, being made out of baking clay instead of drying clay, and is stable enough for it to not be necessary to super-glue the pieces together. I got to fix the colors on the next one, since I didn't have the right paints available.
What do you think? Is it an improvement over the first one? If I get enough positive results, I think I may mass-produce them to sell them at conventions (and if I do, can anyone suggest a price?)
If anyone is going to be at ColossalCon this weekend and wants to see this in real life, look for a cutie dressed as Final Form Sora. That's my boyfriend, and this lucky charm will be on the end of his Oathkeeper. We'll also be participating in the Random Battle Group on Sunday morning.
This is Timeless River Version Sora from Kingdom Hearts 2. I was really proud of this plush. It's the first plush I made where I didn't have too much to nitpick about. It's also the first one that doesn't contain a shred of felt (okay, that's not true, the suede cloth "pointy" front hair is supported by felt backing, but still!).
This plush was made so it can sit or stand. I know a lot of plush artists tend to make their sitting plushies with a bit of a "butt" if they are intended to sit down, but as you can see, Sora is seriously lacking in the posterior area lol. But, he sits because I didn't overstuff him, and he has little packets of doll pellets inside of him. In fact, the majority of his body is filled with them. He stands pretty well, but he needs a rounded back surface for support, and sitting isn't an issue at all.
Also, if you've played Kingdom Hearts, you know that Timeless River Sora is black and white, hence the monchrome pallet of the plush. I adored the Timeless River world, and I adore Sora in it, and unlike the other forms Sora takes throughout the game, this just seemed like the easiest to tackle in plushie form lol.
Finally it's finished! It's a crochet pillow featuring a cross-stitch version of the Heartless symbol (Kingdom Hearts). There are four squares making up the front and one big gray square for the back, all attached around a 16" by 16" pillow. Trust me, it's super sexy. Those ruffles...oh man, the ruffles. I love them. ^_^
