PE: Fan Art vs Original ArtFan Art vs. Manga & Anime: The differencesPE: Fan Art vs Original Art2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Many people have come to me in the past with questions regarding whether their work qualified as Manga & Anime or Fan Art, same happened with many Daily Deviations that were placed in the M&A gallery when they should have been submitted to the Fan Art Gallery, oops!
Do you have doubts regarding the submission process? Wonder no more, we'll unveil all the mysteries surrounding the categories! :iconokie2plz:
Fan art includes those artworks that are based on or contain material such as characters, settings, concepts or universes in general that are copyrighted to someone else other than the artist creating said Fan artwork.
Manga and Anime art, on the other hand, is home for all the artworks that artists have created from scratch and are not related to any preexisting universe nor contain any copyrighted material.

The world of crafting is fascinating and never ending. We have been crafting since the first human molded some mud into a pot, and a seemingly endless list of crafts has been created since. Some crafts are very well known, and you have probably dabbled a bit into them yourself... but some of them are a lot less known. I put some examples together, please enjoy them and leave a comment below letting us know how many of them you already knew if you know any unknown crafts, feel free to share them with us!
Extra credits if you already tried some of these!
Note: These are NOT totally obscure crafts that are only practiced in remote places of the world or that require specialized equipment, I chose crafts that should be easy enough to pick up but not a lot of people are doing.

This will be a straightforward article that lists some basic literary terms (in alphabetical order) that can be found in, well, literary works. You could use some of these terms to write a spectacular poem or prose piece about cake.
Before we get started, head on over to this other PE article that lists a BUNCH of Poetry Terms and Techniques.

A narrative that has multiple layers of meanings. Allegories are written in the form of fables, parables, poems, stories, and almost any other style or genre. The main purpose of an allegory is to tell a story that has characters, a setting, as well as other types of symbols, that have both literal and figurative meanings.

FIXING WARPED FINISHED WATERCOLOUR PAINTING
(lumpy or uneven surface)
1- The warped painting
2 - Turn the painting around and cover the back
with plenty of water from corner to corner
3- Place in a large hardback book between blank pages
4- Close the book and place something heavy on it and wait
30 to 50 minutes so that the pages absorb the moisture
5- You open the book and the painting is flat
=to show that it doesn't remove paint, here is the finished piece=
I hope this helps

Yes, i am making this public so that people know what kind of person obsidianwingsofmidnight is and be aware of messages from him/her.
this person claims they were hacked as well. That might or might not be true, either way i don't want to go hunting them down, just be careful of ANYONE sending you links, especially people you never talked to before.
A note for every deviant out there.
HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM PASSWORD THIEVES:
1. Start out by having a very strong password. Having passwords that have numbers and symbols (*!@#$%) is a great way to start, but a sure way of having a strong password is just having a very long one. I saw an article where it said that nothing beats a long password, So it's better to have a long passw
Did You Know - BlockingBlockingDid You Know - Blocking11 months ago in Art Features More Like This
While many people tend to report other deviants they don't get along with or they feel harassed by to the HelpDesk right away, your first action should always be blocking.
Whatever reason you have to report someone, by blocking you avoid any further communication with certain deviants.
This action is immediate, as you don't have to wait for any staff member to take action and you can just enjoy your dA experience without that blocked deviant.
Personal reasons like disagreeing on a topic, not liking someone or similar won't end with a ban of that other deviant.
Contacting the HelpDesk just adds to the queue of tickets unnecessarily and makes it more time consuming to focus on important reports.
Only in case of serious harassment you should contact the HelpDesk.
If you are blocking someone it's an action in both directions. That means that not only the other person gets blocked from you, but you are automatically blocked for them as well.

Within wash areas, color transitions are usually gradual and span analogous hues. Laying a wash is one of the most satisfying tasks in watercolor painting. Essentials of this s

You have the right to brush off someone else's words and actions and not allow them to affect your life.
You have the right to lose respect for someone who hurts you.
You have the right to be empathetic, and choose to understand that their words don't necessarily mean who they are.
You have the right to believe that someone is bullying you out of sheer sadistic cruelty.
You have the right to believe that sometimes the meanest people are those who are the most hurt inside.
You have the right to stand up for yourself in the heat of the moment. To call out behaviour that hurts you or others. To point fingers and say "This is wrong. This needs to change."
You have the right to stand up for yourself days, weeks, months or years after the fact. Sometimes you graduate from school and you and that bully are both in your 30s. Maybe they've matured. Maybe they haven't. You ha

I'm sure most if not all of us have tried our hand at colored pencils, even if it was only while we were children. Different Types of Colored Pencils
Wax based colored pencils are probably the most common and readily available types of colored pencils on the market. As with any type of colored pencil, these come in varying qualities and prices.
Oil based colored pencils in my experience are not as easy to find unless you are shopping online or in an art store. These colored pencils are excellent if you are planing on coloring on wood or another similar surface. Blending oil based colored pencils ca

A.k.a. "That beautiful detailed flowery art style".
Art Nouveau is an art movement that was most popular between 1890 and 1910. It originated in England and France, where it spread over the last two decades of the 19th century. The origins in each respective country vary though. For example, the German "Jugendstil" was first used 1897 as criticism against cheap mass production of works from artists like Henry van de Velde. Art Nouveau was by far no consistent art movement; there were several geographical differences, although some basic characteristics stayed the same. Those key features are decorative curves and flowery elements.
All in all "Art Nouveau" constisted of divergent art movements in Europe.

What Is A Daily Deviation?
A Daily Deviation is a one-day feature of artwork from various galleries that is chosen by a Community Volunteer (CV). These are showcased at the bottom of most pages on deviantART, as well as displayed in a chronological archive.
There are many misconceptions regarding Daily Deviations, from users believing they're given away as prizes, or given only to friends and popular users of the community. My aim with this article is to help to shine a light on Daily Deviations, and h

I may put a visual aid up later for the steps but for now, I am just going to write them down. Hopefully it will still be follow-able to try it yourself! Here Goes ::
» Open your lines in paint.
» Go to the top and select the option "Save As" (you'll get a pop-up now to select where to put it, name it and what file type)
» On this pop-up, there is a line that reads "save as type", click on that and select the line that reads "Monochrome Bitmap"
» Now save it a new file somewhere easy to find. (a new save so you don't overwrite your original saved lines)
» Now close that file and now open it using the menu.
» Save it once more but this time, change the "save as type" to "png" or "bmp" if you don't have the png option.
» Now open the one you just saved and you can test it out by using the paint bucket to fill in an area. Th

Yeah. My articles are based off of FAQs But I've had a lot of people ask me this so I'm gonna try my best to answer it. I won't guarantee that you'll be a multi-millionaire and able to swim in a pool of points but I can help you earn some.
For starters, I have to tell you what points are! You can't earn them if you don't know what they are.
To me, points are the currency of dA but they are worthless unless they were earned using the commissions widget, which I will talk about later in this article. But having a lot of it can be good and bad in a way.
Let me start you off with the bad
People will ask you for it! (Not that giving is a bad thing but once you get a page full of comments asking "points plz" you'll wish you've never had any of those wretched things. )
