TMNT-Healing TouchThe rain whipped at April O'Neil's face as she and her best friend dashed over roof tops to escape from the wrath of the Kraang bots after them. They had been in a chase after the five of them had taken back the power cell and had all split to keep the Kraang busy. She and Donatello had lost the others blocks ago and they weren't even sure if they were being followed. But they didn't exactly want to slow down to find out.TMNT-Healing Touch2 years ago in Romance More Like This
April's apartment came into view and the red head had to will herself to keep going. Donatello swept her up in his arms and they flew across the way and went crashing through the unlocked window.
The rain poured in, soaking the carpet. April stood up and shut the windows, locking them and drew the blinds with shaky arms. That had been way too close for comfort. She hoped that no one had seen them enter the building.
April turned to come face to face with Donatello. He had a look of worry in his eyes and she placed a hand on his arm.

After a moment of the frantic knocking, April got the guts to get up and grab the baseball bat from underneath her bed. She crept to the glass, waiting for it to be plowed in. For bots to be crashing through or ninjas to attack her from every direction. But nothing came. Only the sound of knocking continued.
April glanced through the glass and gasped. She opened the window and Donatello came crashing into her room. She shut the window before too much water could get in and locked it, drawing the curtains. She turned to her best friend and let her eyes adjust in the darkness.
Donatello was dripping wet with mud and cuts all over his body. His eyes were closed and he seemed flushed. She bent beside him and ran her fingers over his skin. The ninja opened his eyes and let out a groan.

April felt the breeze whistling through New York City on her face, a smirk spreading on her lips knowing a hooded figure wasn't far behind her. She turned her head and could see a shadow dart to another building.
The ginger picked up her feet and walked into the pizzeria. The smell of melted cheese, baked bread and veggies filled her nostrils. She never really appreciated pizza that much until she had met the guys. Now...pizza was kind of a lifestyle. April thought she'd get sick of it...but she didn't.
The teenager picked up the pizza she had ordered, payed and left. She stepped back onto the busy city sidewalk and smiled at each stranger that passed by. She missed being outside, among people other than her mutant friends...she loved them but she needed more company than hearing Mikey's jokes, dealing with Raph's temper, Leonardo's obsession with Space Heroes and Donatello's need to be cooped up in his lap.
"Hey there, princess...that pizza for us?"

April gasped and sat up on the couch. Blue eyes adjusted to the darkness and she struggled to catch her breath. She struggled to move her limbs and found that she had been tucked in a purple blanket. Donatello's blanket...
The red head flashed back to her dream. The image of her kissing the ninja didn't leave her head, even if she rubbed at her eyes. The thing is...that hasn't been the first dream. There have been others where they're holding hands, walking together on the beach, holding one another...
April untangled herself out of the blanket and threw her legs over the side of the couch and buried her head into her hands. This had started when she had moved in with the guys. Maybe the stress has gone to her head? She had been hanging out a lot more with Donatello...but did she really like him like that?
The teenager sighed and dropped her hands. She supposed that could be the case. She was jealous of Karai when Donatello talked so kindly of her skills. She always reached out to him,

The warmth of the light from the sun kissed Donatello's skin, wrapping him in a warm blanket that summer created. The mutant stretched his legs and wiggled his toes, enjoying the calming feeling stretching brought.
Donatello glanced at the papers and textbooks in front of him on the carpet of the dojo, the sun from the broken concrete in the roof shining down on him and the papers. He turned and locked his eyes on the petite figure of April O'Neil beside him.
The teenager continued to type away, a smile on her face. He had agreed to help her with some projects, and because of him, they had nearly finished the projects in an hour. Most of the research papers and the like they had finished were neatly stacked and ready to be turned in.
At first April had only focused working on her own, but with how slow it could be, she was happy to have Donatello help in any way he could. And even though some of the work was bland and vague, he enjoyed the time spent with the red head.

April felt herself be tugged through a hole and into an abandoned warehouse. Outside she could hear the footsteps of the Clan race by each and every way. She shivered, feeling the water run over her body like icy fingers.
The boxes and crates gave her no warmth. No light. Just dust, cobwebs and the cold. The cruel, cruel cold. The red head could feel her teeth chatter and never before had she wanted to be in front of a nice fire or in her dry, warm bed more than anything in the world.
April glanced up at Donnie who only watched her from his spot in the shadows. She wanted to say something but she didn’t want to give away their hiding spot. It could have been minutes but if fe

"Come on, Donnie. This is embarrassing."
"This isn't fair."
"You have no right to declare what is and isn't fair."
April O'Neil struggled in Donatello's grasp, but she knew it was no use. The mutant had her over his shoulder and pinned her legs to his plastron so she couldn't make a run for it. The teenager sighed and rested her elbow on his shell and cheek against her hand.
"Donnie, let me go. I can walk."
"Nope. You had your chance."
"Donnie, I'm not a little kid. You don't have to babysit me."
The mutant ninja stopped in his tracks. April immediately regretted uttering her last sentence. She could feel the anger rising from him without having to see his face. And April had never seen Donatello mad. Well, at least not at her.
Donatello roughly grabbed April and held her in front of him, her feet lightly dangling above the cement of a building's roof. All of his features were twisted into a deep frown, his eyes ablaze with anger. E

The red head closed her eyes and willed herself to go back to sleep. She had been having a pleasant dream, too...but the longer she stayed awake the more she honestly forgot what it had been about.
The teenager tossed a few more times before sighing and kicked the covers off. She glanced over at the alarm clock on the make shift nightstand in her bedroom in the sewers and had to stop herself from groaning. It was only five in the morning. On a Saturday. Life was cruel.
April sat up and rubbed at her eyes. Well, if she couldn't get back to sleep, she might as well find something to do. She opened her door and peered into the dark hallway. She slid through the opening and clicked it shut gently, not wanting to wake her mutant friends who had had a long nig

The ding of the oven shook April out of her thoughts and woke up her senses. The smell of vanilla wafted in the air and tickled her nose. The teenager smiled and inhaled the heavenly scent.
Putting a glove on, April opened the oven and took out the cake she had been slaving over for a few hours now. She let it cool, taking out frosting and a plate for the cake. Once it was cool enough, April set the cake onto the plate and began to decorate it.
Honestly, April wasn't much of a chef. She wasn't horrible at cooking, but left that to her dad and her aunt. But she was quite proud of herself for making the cake. Not only did it smell good, it looked good.
When April was done with frosting the cake, she smiled proudly to herself and picked up the plate. So all in all, he couldn’t do anything he loved. Splinter forced the mutant to either lay in his room or on the couch pretty much doing nothing until he got better. And when Donatello got sick, he was sick for a while. And he’d always have all the symptoms. Fever, chills, nausea, name it and he probably had it.
Laying on the couch, Donnie stared up at the ceiling of the lair bundled in blankets. His brothers were on patrol and Splinter was probably meditating in his room., which meant the mutant was all alone. Completely and utterly alone. And he hated it. Even trying to force himself to sit up hurt too much. So he just laid there pitifully.

In the midst of stress, fighting, and three annoying mutants, Donatello and April liked to wind down together by making one thing April had never learned to make until she had met the turtles: origami.
When the purple clad ninja discovered she had never tried origami before, he immediately taught her the basics of paper folding. Honestly, April didn't really have much interest in learning how to create the paper art, but she couldn't resist the pleading eyes of the one mutant she had a soft spot for. And in the end, origami ended up being the one stress reliever the red head truly needed.
April and Donatello would spend hours together just folding paper. They'd try to out creative the other in what shapes they could fold. To see who could make the most impressive piece.
Donatello always naturally won. He had been doing it longer than her, but she enjoyed the thrill of the competition none the less. She'd search through books at her school's library for techniques on paper folding so sh

Donatello liked to take some time off from inventing and building to watch Master Splinter and April from the shadows. She had grown so strong and fast, but no where near as good as him, his brothers and the rat they called their “father.” But he still admired how much determination she had while fighting. It was like her life depended on it. Well, it did, but still.
The more time flew by, the more April stayed longer and longer in the turtles’ lair. She had become so close to the family living in the sewers that it only fit that she had her own space. Her own room for whenever she felt like staying. When she wasn’t there, Donnie loved to go in and just tak

Even when the next day passed and he didn’t hear from her, he knew something must be terribly wrong. His brothers told him to not worry about it, that she was probably busy living her ‘normal’ life. But Donatello couldn’t just sit around.
The apartment belonging to April’s aunt came into view and the mutant silently edged closer and closer to the window belonging to the red head he loved. He peered in and found the room dark, but he could see a small figure on the bed hunched over.

TMNT-SilenceIt had been a long day for April and all she wanted more than anything in the world was for some peace and quiet. To the mutant's left, a futon had been pushed into the corner of the room, a single lamp giving the right amount of light sat beside white pillow. A hole in the ceiling where a street lamp from afar shot light through the hole and into the sewer. Donatello stared at the glass container with an unhealthy obsession. He couldn't help it. Even if he wanted to pry his eyes away, his body rejected his request. Whenever he walked into the lab now, his eyes naturally found the container that stored what used to be Timothy, A.K.A the Pulverizer.
He and the blob could stare at one another for hours. Sometimes the eyes would close and take a sleep like state. Donatello would find a place to sit and just take in the creature he had created. Well, let it be created.
Seeing Timothy like that killed Donatello. If only he had been there in time...stopped him...he'd still be the bubbly dufus his brothers both loved and hated. Still be wearing that stupid green suit of his, still trying to find his calling in life...
"Donnie, you would not believe my day! Not only did my aunt buy the story we created, she-Donnie?" April walked into the lab. Donatello jumped and threw the blanket he used to cover Timothy over his container and looked away.

Donatello's feet dragged against the ground as he slithered through the tunnels of the sewers on his way home. It had been a long night of patrolling, and all he wanted was to go home and see the one thing that makes the long nights worth while.
The stairwell came into view and the sleepy mutant smiled. He climbed the stairs, feeling his muscles twitch from exhaustion and gave the door at the very top a gentle push.
The door swung open to reveal his laboratory. The tables where covered in papers and test tubes waiting to be picked up come day time. Donatello closed the door disguised as a large, rotating bookcase.
Donatello eyed the stairs leading from the basement he was in and to the house above. He climbed the stairs, listening as the stairs creaked from his weight with each step that he took.
Soon, he was at the top and entered the hallway of the old farmhouse he called his home. Donatello glanced in the direction of the stairs and wondered if she would be up there already asleep.

Each step felt like there was lead in Donatello's feet. Of course that wasn't the case, but despite what people expected of him, Donatello had a hard time waking up in the morning.
The bathroom he and his brothers shared came into view and the mutant smiled and yawned. He could already hear his brothers in the bathroom as they did their daily morning routine.
The tallest of the ninjas stepped in, feeling the cold tile on his bare feet. Raphael was busy applying an Avon product onto his arm as Michelangelo finished brushing his teeth and reached for some floss. Leonardo grabbed a green towel and prepared to take a shower.
Donatello sighed. Perhaps it was his OCD, but he enjoyed the routine. Waking up, greeting his brothers, getting ready for the day...it was a soothing process that eased Donatello's nerves and stresses that might come up throughout the day.
Soft pitter patter of feet could be heard heading towards the bathroom. A petite figure walked in and stood in front of the sink. D

Life with three fingers on each hand had always been a bit difficult for Donatello growing up. As a scientist, how bulky his digits were always got in the way and it was hard to grasp some items with the way they were shaped. But because he had grown up with his hands, he never thought much about them.
He never thought much about them, that is, until he met April. Compared to her, his hands were monstrous. They were big and bulky and so...deformed compared to the soft palms the female had, how perfectly shaped the digits of her fingers were and how neatly groomed she kept them.
Around April, Donnie felt very self conscious about his hands. He always tried to find something to preoccupy them when the red head was around, whether it was with his bo staff or some sort of invention he was working on at the time. She never seemed to notice or really care, which relaxed Donatello more than anything else could when around her.
