Israel trip post + pic spamHallooo. I just came back from a 14-day tour around to various biblical and historical sites in Israel and Jordan. Writing things down before I forget it all >< already my memory is kind of muddled.Israel trip post + pic spam1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Just a warning this is REALLY REALLY LONG and VERY IMAGE HEAVY - I am not even exaggerating. I skipped over a lot already but it's still humongous. Took me 4 days just to write it.
Anyway, in loose chronological order here goes:
Our flight was 9 hours from US to Germany, then another 4-5 hours from Germany to Israel. We went with a group of around 70, about half of which are my friends/acquaintances.
I couldn't sleep on the flight but luckily the movie selection was pretty good. I watched at least 5 movies including the Rurouni Kenshin live action, twice, and eventually a 3rd time on the flight back. Sato Takeru is a really good Kenshin =w=
As usual the cabin air is really dry and the little jar of moisturizer I tossed into my backpack as an afterthought turned out to be a life

Sorry for long "no journal" break - it was so hot here and all the republic suffered in unnusual heat that I was not able to kick myself to write anything. And wow, when this journal was almost finished, I clicked on "file", thinking that it would allow me to add journal pictures right from my computer and you know what? That great system simply deleted whole journal, so I have to write it all again. So happy!
Here is a Kiriban, it is 1 033 333 this time. Yay! To win a feature, catch this number and send me a prinstreen of it via note (no feature for animal cruelty and porn, ok?)
Do something positive with US economy, my dear American friends, please! USD is still too weak, I want to transfer money to my bank account when 1 USD is at least 20 CZK it is only 19,36 CZK now so patience please and do not worry, the ZOO will get the rest of the money.

PureThe thing about getting known is that people say funny things to you. Most of it is bullshit. Some of it is true, and some of it is downward inconsiderate. Some of it does make me think, though.Pure7 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
One of those things said to me, a while ago, was that I wasn't so much of an artist.
That, despite the fact that I was decently known on the internet nowadays, I didn't make actual great art.
(The actual comment phrased it somewhere along the lines of "famous as hell, but still draws like a college art student")
And you know what I thought? This guy actually did have a solid point. The way he worded it down was just... not so clever.
Throughout my life I've seen people with great skills in everything. I've learned soon enough that people typically see themselves as either a left-brain or a right-brain thinker, meaning so much that their either go with logic or intuition, and are often either good with numbers or social skills/art (that come with that). While many of these tests whe

works that I have come across. It started off as stock I can't provide
myself so I look for other peoples so I can suggest them. The way I
choose is quite odd, when I see a stock image I have an instant image in
my head of what I could do or create out of that piece of stock. The
image also has to be crystal clear and easily altered.
Anyway, Check them out, I'm sure you'll agree, just click on their deviation.

projecteducate is one of our main contact points for all the artists of DeviantArt to come together and educate themselves about a multitude of art related subjects, from techniques and hints and tips to DA specific information and help. By providing a central location the volunteer team can reach out further into their communities to guide and help more artists than ever before.
But we can't do it alone!
Help and support from as many community members as possible is essential to ensure success, and this is obviously where YOU come in!
Stock and Resources is hosting another Project Educate week this year between the 15th and 21st September, and its really not that far away, and we are looking for your help
As a guide here are journals from our 2012 Project Educate week -

Using my voice as a user or Dear deviantART...Dear deviantART,Using my voice as a user or Dear deviantART...2 months ago in Personal More Like This
this is me following the example of some very brave users commenting on the recent changes of the site. Let me start off by saying that this journal is not supposed to be a hate speech, it is supposed to reveal concern based on observations I've made over the past weeks.
As we all know, presenting unannounced change to a huge crowd of people is difficult. Opinions will be all over the place, criticism will be voiced among all kinds of feedback, be it positive or negative or even neutral.
To me, people's reactions to the changes are not only because change is uncomfortable at first or because the new design doesn't meet with their personal taste. Not this time.
Their reaction is a valid criticism, precisely pointing out how the changes of the community affects its users in a negative way.
Take the logo for example. To sum up a few solid arguments by iAmCloudSky – a well made logo should be:

I probably love you, and you don't even know it.This is what my heart looks like, when I think about you.I probably love you, and you don't even know it.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The older I get, the more I love people. I'm not saying that in the same context as, "I love rainy days" or "I love reading books".. I honestly feel love for people. People in my life. People I've never met in person. Even people who don't even know me.. I often find myself feeling this rush of affection for someone for no other reason than the fact that they exist. Just for the fact that I know in that moment, they are breathing somewhere. They are living; trying to carve out a little piece of happiness for themselves. And I want more than anything for them to have it.
I love people most of all, I think, for their sadness. Their loneliness. Their hardships. I love people who struggle, and who feel. Most of all I love people who want to be loved. Who have never really known what it feels like. But that desire frustrates me more than I can really express. Because I have an enormous amount of love to g
Making A Living at DAZ3DEvery so often someone asks if this is possible, how hard this is, and how to do it. I'm writing this journal entry so I can just link them back to it instead of typing the same post or forum PM repeatedly.Making A Living at DAZ3D1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I'm putting these down in the order they are usually asked, not in the order I think they should be asked.
Q: How much money can I make?
A: I make a good living for a single person in the Western USA selling in the DAZ market. I also sell at Renderosity, but I would describe that as a "hobby" or "bonus" income; it would be hard to do without it, but it's not what pays the rent every month, either. For the most part you will make back according to the time you put in. Only a few top artists get into six figures in American dollars in our market, and they are the biggest names who sell the biggest products.
Q: Can I do it in my spare time?
A: Not if you want to make a living. We do have hobbyist artists at DAZ3D, for whom this is a second i
[Tutorial] G1G2 Clothing in Blender 1This tutorial series was requested by JooDoo. If you don't use Blender, feel free to skip this. Blender's interface is widely hated, but it's a free program with tons of features, and at the very least it's a great way to build your business until you can afford 3dCoat, Zbrush, or one of the more expensive suites. Blender can be profitably integrated with these others as well, especially when it is used to base model and UV map and they are used for sculpting and painting; but that's a discussion for another day.[Tutorial] G1G2 Clothing in Blender 11 year ago in Personal More Like This
In Part 1 we'll start with a discussion of setting up your first scene and creating a good low-res base topology.
A pictorial supplement can be found here.
Latest version of Blender (2.69 as of this writing); 64 bit is pretty much mandatory for sculpting, and if you have a 32 bit system you may not be ready to start really working in 3D.
