**This edition of Scalawags for DA's Film Gallery Premiere**

We had the wonderful opportunity to work alongside a handful of talented graduating music majors from USC the past winter, and as a result Scalawags now has its own beautiful score composed by David Stanton. This makes Scalawags a completely original piece, ready for film festivals!

*****************

From concept to completion this project took us 11 weeks to produce. We spent four weeks in pre-production and five weeks animating and compositing. One week at the end to enjoy our pizza and watch the movie. :ahoy:
. . .And maybe do some post audio work.

***Please visit our journal for more information regarding the production, and learn what software and techniques were used in the creation of this film.***

Short video made with apophysis using the apophymator script [link] and an annoying, repetitious soundtrack to boot >.<

Hope you enjoy and I hope you don't get motion sickness watching it :D

EDIT:
-----
I uploaded a higher quality/resolution version of the video since dA re-encodes with too much compression and lowers the original resolution (848x480).
The file is uploaded here: [link] (There are 5 hosts to chose from) and should be available for a month or so, perhaps longer if it gets downloads.

THE GAIA PROJECT

The Gaia Project to raise awareness for climate change, started in 2007 as an open source community project to create digital art for this cause. In the last four years a group of 5.000 designers - members from laFraise, Behance, deviantArt and other big design websites - joined them to create designs, music and articles around this major theme.

Gaia curator Marius Bauer approached Steffen Knoesgaard with a suggestion to collaborate on making the first official trailer for the Gaia project and thus adding moving images to the Gaia project for the first time.

Teaming up with fellow motion designers Fredrik Ekholm and Simon Holmedal, the team created the trailer working in an online collaboration from 4 different countries based out of New York, Amsterdam, London and Munich. Musician Kevin Durante, an contributor to earlier Gaia releases, joined in to make a custom sound track - that will be released later as a full length track on the forthcoming Gaia album.

Equestria LA 2012 was one of the best conventions I ever went to. Going there was a great experience, especially when I got to see some of the MLP voice actors in person.

Now, I'm not exactly a big fan of the PONY.MOV series by Hotdiggedydemon. However, when a youtube user named "DaWillstanator" asked Andrea Libman (Fluttershy) to say a famous line from SHED.MOV, I had to make this.

I made this out of Tara Strong's little Twitter message she sent this morning. It took about five hours total. I am tired... :P

Higher Quality on Youtube!

P.S. This isn't the animation I promised.... Just something quick. Enjoy!

Mariza is a short 3d animated film I created back in 2008 for the MA of Animation course I took at University of Technology Sydney. After a year of making it's run in the festival circuits I have decided to post it on-line for anyone to see.

This was the first animation we worked on for The Nonsense Factory ([link]). Created, written, and directed by Isaac Berk, animated and what-not by me.

Ever wonder what cats are thinking when they do the things they do? Well, after seeing this, you might wish you hadn't...
