Before Jean-Luc Picard has ever set foot upon the decks of the Enterprise-D and while a young Benjamin Sisko was chief engineer aboard the USS Okinawa, a crew of ragtag First Fleet officers must learn how to live up to the expectations the name of their starship holds: USS Polaris.
1, The keel of the Polaris was laid in 2355, in the Malmö Orbital Yards, as the fifth Avante class starship.
2, She was built in a time when the Federation was centralized, thus bears no other insignia apart from the basic Starfleet pennant.
3, The ship was built for the defence of the Solar System and was considered a big ship for such a small task.
4, She was present in the Federation-Tzenkethi War, the aftermath of the Wolf 359 crisis and was destroyed during the Borg Supercube crisis of 2380.
5, Like all First Fleet ships, her crew consists of only humans, a notion considered obsolete and chauvinistic in her time.
6: Her senior officers are the following:

Reach for the Future
Ensign Christopher Pike had a headache which would knock out even a full-grown Edosian Sand Tiger. Through the throbbing pain originating between his temples, he tried to look around, to observe his surroundings.
He faintly remembered how he managed to squeeze himself into an already cramped shuttlecraft, bound to leave the doomed Kelvin. He also remembered the oxygen level starting to drop inside the shuttle: the little craft was designed to house a maximum of twelve people for a period of six hours, not twice the many onboard for... Pike did not remember the duration.
Pike was a smart young man. He didn't have to have a degree in medicine to figure out that he must have fainted after some time. The fact that he was able to come to that conclusion showed him that he didn't suffer any irreversible brain damage. Hell, he was alive! And judging by the pure white surroundings and piercing light, he was in some sort of hospital, or sick bay.
Pike tried to sit
Polaris: The RebirthThey were all wearing black armbands on the sleeves of their white tunics, all seven of them. They were a helpless little army, some tense, others quivering with tears glistening on their pale faces. They were the pallbearers on a funeral, a funeral of a friend. They were old friends, comrades in arms, survivors of many battles. They were veterans. Now they had to face the final descent of a mutual friend.Polaris: The Rebirth6 years ago in Science Fiction More Like This
The Polaris looked dead in the drydock floating in space. Her pearl-grey hull was marred with a phaser blast too many to evade notice. She also looked old, even with her angular nacelles. Altogether, she was an old war horse without another ride left within her. Or so Starfleet had said. Who cared what her crew said? They were, after all, nothing but a bunch of xenophobic First Fleet people, men and women who would never in a lifetime get proper Starfleet status.
Charlotte Ainsworth was crying openly. She was the youngest member of the motley crew, but she was part of the Polaris fam

Half-way, they meet a vast sublight armada, bound for Kzinhome.
04: We pledge...
The Polaris arrives at Tzenketh where her crew is given audience by the Emperor Risson. After the audience, the crew is torn between whether to support the Tzenkethi or the Kzinti.

How the Terran adventure started
In the mid-2150's, Earth starships boldly ventured past the boundaries of known space. This created many conflicts in local space, given that many feared the ambitious newcomers. Earth managed to settle interplanetary disputes which lingered on for centuries, signalling a nascent era of peace and prosperity.
Little did Earth know what lied beyond their horizons: an emerging interplanetary superpower, the Romulan Star Empire. The Romulans, enshrouded in mystery and a strong sense of militarism, had their own ideas of broadening their range of interest. At first, it seemed that the conflict will be resolved by the simple way of "finders keepers", that is, the first race to colonize an uninhabited planet has all the rights to claim it to their respective political body.
Unknown to all but only the uppermost level of Vulcan society was the origin of the Romulan people. Those who Terrans called Romulans were called Seheikk'he by the Vulc

When I came aboard the ISS Enterprise I was surprised at all the other sub-human's on board. For those that don't know, I'm a hybrid; half-human, half-Ki'Taran, bred especially to serve the Empire. I was assigned to be an Interrogation Specialist, that's a nice title for someone with PSI abilities. I was to work under Major Malcolm Reed, I had heard stories about him and didn't know whether to be excited or anticipate the worse. And then I saw something, something he thought he had hid from everyone else.
Naturally my feline curiousity had to seek him out, and then who knew we kind of 'hit it off' and have been somewhat of an item since. I think we balance each other well, and well it's prudent to have someone you can trust on this ship, especially the Head of the MACOs.
Our first mission together was with Commander Archer to go down to Betazed and take control of the situation. The Betazed's had an alliance with the Klingon's and they were also on hand to fight th

The chronology of post-Nero Vulcans
2258: the planet Vulcan is destroyed by the Romulan war criminal Nero, using 24th century equipment. Six billion Vulcans die in the disaster with some ten thousand surviving on starships and off-world colonies.
A mysterious old man, who calls himself "Uncle Selek" leads the survivors to the planet of P'Jem, the site of an ancient Vulcan shrine. Colony V is established.
In the outside world: The United Federation of Planets is prepared to fight a war against the Romulan Star Empire. Three Constitution class starships are given funding to be built to oppose the Romulan threat.
2259: The birth of the first child on Colony V, named T'Kelek. She becomes the symbol of Vulcan exile.
Colony V's first census registers 9875 persons. Approximately 150 persons are stationed on Federation member worlds, in the Klingon Empire and in the Gorn Hegemony as diplomats and merchants.
In the outside world: War with the Romulans successfully avoided aft

2, Her mission insignia symbolises a star, particularly Earth's north star, the Polaris.
3, She was built to counter the emerging Tholian threat after the Federation has reached the Assembly's borders.
4, She has seen two wars, both against the Kzinti: The Third Man-Kzin War (2267-68) and the Invasion of Cait Crisis (2270).
5, She was present at the Kzinti Invasion of Cait (March 2270), the Liberation of Cait (July 2270) and the Human Invasion of Kzinhome (October 2270, supported by the Federation).
5, Her crew consists of only Humans. This is due to Earth treating the wars with the Kzinti as a traditional inner problem, not a Federation-wide incident.

Trelane tells the Polaris crew that they are part of a grand game between Leah and himself, although the "game" has serious conclusions: the survival or extinction of Humankind. After telling this, Trelane disappears. Captain Noah accuses Leah of using him and his crew as pawns and of why she did not choose a more powerful ship for this role, such as the Enterprise. Leah tells him that the Polaris is not a pawn but the king and that no other ship could fulfil this mission. Before she departs, she tells Noah that she cannot guarantee that the Polaris survives the final confrontation.
02: A mission, a life
Captain Noah calls for his crew on Leah and Trelane and the role of the Polaris in their agenda. He gives all his crewmembers a choice: they can transfer to other ships or stay on the Polaris, the latter meaning that they must face death in the foreseeable future.

He knew the immense responsibility that laid upon his shoulders and he knew how great price he had to pay at times and again. Bot now, everything seemed dark, black as the very space his Starship Enterprise was flying through.
Kirk was a starship Captain, some considered him a talented one, some even a hero. For Kirk, now everything mattered not. He was angry, so much that he envied his first officer Spock for his Vulcan nerves. Yes, the Vulcan could always get a grip on himself, but not Kirk. Not after he has heard Admiral Yamamotos message which arrived two hours ago on a top priority subspace channel. According to the message, the Federation could not risk a war with the Klingon Empire under the present conditions. In order to avoid the war, the Federation had to give away the newly discovered border planet Taa-3 to the Klingons, a planet o

The grid emits an energy field that depletes Trelane's powers, the same way Trelane did to Leah. Noah leaves Trelane on Kolchak, hoping to never see him again.
