ImprovementOver the years, many people have asked me for how long I've been drawing. While it's true that I started drawing as soon as I was able to hold a pencil, I was never that serious about it. In a sense, you can ask yourself if I was any serious on art altogether. Because, in the end, all kids draw. I think most people can remember making drawings in grade school. Because it's something kids do naturally. Depicting the world around them with images. The beautiful thing is that kids have no fear. They just draw whatever they like, and are usually happy with it. It isn't until the age of 10 or 12, that the outside world suddenly expects you to be either good at something, or stop doing it. It's at that age that we become self cautious about drawing. And therefore it's around that age many kids eventually stop drawing.Improvement1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I came to that age as well. I have to admit... it kicked in a little late on me.
For those that wonder what I'm talking about; those are the 2 years I stopped

Devious Journal EntryHey everyone, I've had a lot of people asking me about FZD and whether I recommend it. There isn't a short answer. And I don't have THE answer for you. It's a personal decision and every person will have a different set of factors to take into account before making a decision one way or another.Devious Journal Entry11 months ago in Personal More Like This
I'll do my best to be as straight forward about this as I can. Before I went to FZD, I was doing corporate transaction tax consulting, and I could hardly draw anything. I did a few pieces of abstract art when I was in high school. When looking at schools, I was looking at what would help me gain the skillset I needed to get my foot into the industry. I was NOT interested in schools that you could cruise through working only 8 hours a day. I didn't care about if the teachers actually cared about me or not, as long as they taught me how to do concept art. I didn't care if the teachers were compassionate and nice, in fact I preferred they were pretty brutal and honest. But however they were, I did
Random news xDLOL...I'll be a little random now, since I don't write journals that much lately. Need to make a feature or something <_< Aaaanyway. Sorry cuz I had to update my last work, but dA just went nuts yesterday when I uploaded pic. So yea... not sure if all of you got it then. And I'll try to post my second part of anatomy tutorial (male torso anatomy...for back) next week. Since I finished it a long time ago, haha. I have SO many drawings which I have to post.Random news xD3 weeks ago in Personal More Like This
And just so you know. If anyone remembers of my old Cloud Strife drawing... well, I'm repainting it xD it's so old and I can't look at it anymore T_T needs a makeover. So if you'll see Cloud in your inbox again, then this is gonna be the new version.
If you wanna check my random doodles and other things you can check them on my Twitter and Tumblr. Cuz MAN
Happy Birthday dadAnd we wish our dad happy birthday...yaaaaay. Like past year I decided to paint him a special drawing in the style which he likes and I wasn't able to finish it on time...nuuu (I did the menu for the game). He didn't see the piece yet, but you can see cropped WIP preview below (it's gonna be pretty colorful). And dad...you'll see full piece when I finish it...haha.Happy Birthday dad5 months ago in Personal More Like This
And like past year I'll also submit progress video, this time from this painting...sorry I didn't record sketch progress, again xD I don't have much space on my hard drive, so making the sketches take me a long time till I decide if I'll finish the drawing or not. So you'll see recordings from scratch from my other paintings.

A Must Read!Guys, i just want to share these journals with you (created by: Suzanne-Helmigh) whether you're a beginner, a student, or a professional artist, these are good articles, and covered a lot of good points, not only for becoming a good artist but things to be aware about as an artist. If you have a moment, have a look! I've shared one about the myth of concept art on my art blog, but i didn't want to leave out the rest of it. So instead i've decided to share these on here, since i have more watchers here than on my art blog. I hope it will help you in some way. Big thanks to Suzanne for making these!A Must Read!9 months ago in Personal More Like This

A little bit of kindnessI remember how surprised I was to discover that people mostly have very little empathy. Being quite a big empath myself, I got into that tiny cozy state called "it's so human, so many of them must be just like me". Then I spent some time around the internet. Ha ha.A little bit of kindness1 year ago in Personal More Like This
In some cases, I can see the point of rude comments/messages/whatever else. It's when the author is dissatisfied with something or annoyed. Thing I don't quite get is - why would they still proceed to make another person miserable. And then it clicks - oh, they don't think about how the other person feels like. It's not really a matter of caring about them. Getting into another human's shoes should be enough to make one reconsider what they are about to tell. It should be your own impressions to make you reconsider.
And then there are the ones who have been already offended by someone or something. Obviously, there are the serious matters and serious issues and that's a separate topic. But having a group submission dec

Please don't be offended if you're not on this list and I tagged you at the end! I have a whole lot of favourite artists, so if I've watched you that probably means that you're one of them, and if I have not I may just not have seen your artwork yet . Anyway, it was difficult for me to lower this down to only ten people, but you'll see that I'm very consistent in the types of artists I've chosen. Haha I actually ended up having to choose 12 people rather than 10 because I had such a difficult time choosing between them!
-Choose at least 10 artists that inspire you and tell us why;
-Show at least 5 deviations from those artists that you love;
-Tag at least 10 artists.

My health has become quite the issue over the last few months.
It seems like the recent car crash brought me more physical damage than I initially thought. Even though the doctors that checked me directly after the accident told me everything was fine, it has been everything but fine up until now. Despite daily training and many visits to the physical therapist, my neck is still hurt and the pain causes frequent migraine attacks. Needless to say; I've been nothing but tired until now, so badly that even attending my regular job has become quite the challenge. Most of the days I fall asleep straight after work, only to wake up still being tired the next morning. It's frustrating. The whole thing just feels like one big clusterfuck wrecking my body and, as for now, I haven't got a clue on how to deal with it.
I went to the doctor last week for

After getting out of a slump, I wanted to share this story of something I went through a few years back. Bit of a read, but thanks for sticking through it
As you know, Comic-Con is arriving and as I prepare for it, I grow more and more anticipated with anxiety/joy in regards to the re-release of Last Man Standing.
As long, challenging, and mind-opening the creation of LMS was, something really stuck with me.
Before I had created LMS, I wanted to work for WETA Workshop. To those that don't know them, they've created props, designs, sets, costumes, and more for The Lord of the Rings, Avatar, District-9, Elysium, The Hobbit and many more films.
I was obsessed and inspired with them. The creator, Richard Taylor was always a huge inspiration to me. After viewing supplements on the Extended Editions of The Lord of the Rings DVDS, I knew right there: I HAD TO WORK FOR THEM.
So I al

Ramblings about 'internet fame'A lot of stuff has happened lately in life lately, and is has made me think about things, and about my perspective on it. One of those things, is the internet.Ramblings about 'internet fame'1 year ago in Personal More Like This
As some of you know, I'm a huge nerd. While as kid, I didn't had a computer at home, and I hated those damn machines because I wasn't able to work with them at all (so much fail T__T), I soon caught up when I got my first computer at age 14. And while most of my family expected me to end up as a hopeless internet addict, I soon started to learn myself how to program. The rest is history. With my 26th birthday, I also celebrated being a webprogrammer for 10 years already. Oh yeah, I'm getting old for sure.
The recent chain of events have caused me to think about the internet and it's role in life, however. When I first started out with art, I was only a little girl. Me, and both of my younger sisters, were all very creative. And we spend almost all of our time drawing at the kitchen table, while discussing about the characters we
The 101 Guide To Digital Painting Hardware #1An input device for a computer seems to be a no-brainer, mouse, trackpad, keyboard all there but ...err, wait what? A graphic tablet is missing or should I get a pen display? The 101 Guide To Digital Painting Hardware #18 months ago in Personal More Like This
This guide is based on my personal experience and opinion, I´m in no way affiliated with any of these companies and I try to be as objective as possible.
As instructor but also on conventions, I often get asked what hardware, tablet or other input devices I use and what I´d recommend for someone just starting out.
Until 2013 I´d nearly always have said: "Go get a Wacom", but the competition and the tablet market is developing so fast that there are more products out there than ever and artists can be overwhelmed by the sheer volume and opinions.
I will just offer some options and add a comment or two that may help you decide.
Let´s stick with the basics:

How To Survive As Freelancer In A Subscription Based (Virtual) Society
This one is a wake-up call, one to contemplate how we use social media and publishing strategies.
This article don´t refers to sociel media tools and widgets, but wants to explore the heart of how publishing has changed and how to use it.
Actually when Magazines began with subscription models back, somewhere in the last century (please correct me if I´m wrong), some television stations decided to do the same and ultimately I believe that is the reason why we have subscriber-based social media networks now, where every person can get subscribers.
This is a long story short.
Sure, there are differences between a magazine a television station and you.
But how big is the difference if the currency is attention time?
I think we live in

FAQHi there !FAQ1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Sometimes I answered to people sometimes not... I simply forget to answer, or don't have time, or the question has been asked billion times, or it's too complicated to write it in english.
so here some answers: (sorry if there are english's mistakes, I'm french ^^.)
Do you take commissions ?
Nope, I really don't have time ! Sorry guys. I won't answer to note/PM about that.
Do you do prints of your illustrations ?
Not for the moment... It's very personal I'm not sure I'm ready to make money from it.
Can I use your art ?
It depends for what, If I don't answer then it means "no". Don't take it badly... It just takes too much times to make proper sentences to say no and I don't have time to deal with it... sorry.
And please don't use it for 9gag or something else like that.
Artists are fighting for there rights and they use screenshots and gif to make jokes...
I might be hard and harsh about it and I'm sorry but it's insulting and paradoxale.

What is a Daily Deviation?
The Daily Deviation is a daily feature chosen from the galleries here on deviantART.
A small assortment of submissions are chosen each day by a select group of staff/volunteer members who wish to showcase an image which they found impressive or otherwise interesting enough to deserve being brought to the attention of the community-at-large.
The staff/volunteer members responsible for selecting submissions for the daily feature often are open to suggestions and individual community members may direct their attention by noting the appropriate Community Volunteer or staff member with a direct link to the deviation which you are suggesting and a brief description about why you think the work in question should be featured.
How To Suggest a Daily Deviation:
