ImprovementOver the years, many people have asked me for how long I've been drawing. While it's true that I started drawing as soon as I was able to hold a pencil, I was never that serious about it. In a sense, you can ask yourself if I was any serious on art altogether. Because, in the end, all kids draw. I think most people can remember making drawings in grade school. Because it's something kids do naturally. Depicting the world around them with images. The beautiful thing is that kids have no fear. They just draw whatever they like, and are usually happy with it. It isn't until the age of 10 or 12, that the outside world suddenly expects you to be either good at something, or stop doing it. It's at that age that we become self cautious about drawing. And therefore it's around that age many kids eventually stop drawing.Improvement1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I came to that age as well. I have to admit... it kicked in a little late on me.
For those that wonder what I'm talking about; those are the 2 years I stopped

Ramblings about 'internet fame'A lot of stuff has happened lately in life lately, and is has made me think about things, and about my perspective on it. One of those things, is the internet.Ramblings about 'internet fame'2 years ago in Personal More Like This
As some of you know, I'm a huge nerd. While as kid, I didn't had a computer at home, and I hated those damn machines because I wasn't able to work with them at all (so much fail T__T), I soon caught up when I got my first computer at age 14. And while most of my family expected me to end up as a hopeless internet addict, I soon started to learn myself how to program. The rest is history. With my 26th birthday, I also celebrated being a webprogrammer for 10 years already. Oh yeah, I'm getting old for sure.
The recent chain of events have caused me to think about the internet and it's role in life, however. When I first started out with art, I was only a little girl. Me, and both of my younger sisters, were all very creative. And we spend almost all of our time drawing at the kitchen table, while discussing about the characters we
FAQHi there !FAQ1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Sometimes I answered to people sometimes not... I simply forget to answer, or don't have time, or the question has been asked billion times, or it's too complicated to write it in english.
so here some answers: (sorry if there are english's mistakes, I'm french ^^.)
Do you take commissions ?
Nope, I really don't have time ! Sorry guys. I won't answer to note/PM about that.
Do you do prints of your illustrations ?
Not for the moment...
Can I use your art ?
It depends for what, If I don't answer then it means "no". Don't take it badly... It just takes too much times to make proper sentences to say no and I don't have time... sorry.
And please don't use it for 9gag or any other website like that.
What software do you use ?
Mangastudio 4EX for comics and drawing.
Mangastudio 5EX for colors.
I draw on MS4 because it's easier and faster for me.
Where can I get your brushes ?
My brushes are here : http://nesskain.deviantart.com/art/Brushes-for-MS
A little story...Wanted to share this story with you guys, and future creators:A little story...2 years ago in Personal More Like This
After getting out of a slump, I wanted to share this story of something I went through a few years back. Bit of a read, but thanks for sticking through it
As you know, Comic-Con is arriving and as I prepare for it, I grow more and more anticipated with anxiety/joy in regards to the re-release of Last Man Standing.
As long, challenging, and mind-opening the creation of LMS was, something really stuck with me.
Before I had created LMS, I wanted to work for WETA Workshop. To those that don't know them, they've created props, designs, sets, costumes, and more for The Lord of the Rings, Avatar, District-9, Elysium, The Hobbit and many more films.
I was obsessed and inspired with them. The creator, Richard Taylor was always a huge inspiration to me. After viewing supplements on the Extended Editions of The Lord of the Rings DVDS, I knew right there: I HAD TO WORK FOR THEM.
So I al

Devious Journal EntryHey everyone, I've had a lot of people asking me about FZD and whether I recommend it. There isn't a short answer. And I don't have THE answer for you. It's a personal decision and every person will have a different set of factors to take into account before making a decision one way or another.Devious Journal Entry1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I'll do my best to be as straight forward about this as I can. Before I went to FZD, I was doing corporate transaction tax consulting, and I could hardly draw anything. I did a few pieces of abstract art when I was in high school. When looking at schools, I was looking at what would help me gain the skillset I needed to get my foot into the industry. I was NOT interested in schools that you could cruise through working only 8 hours a day. I didn't care about if the teachers actually cared about me or not, as long as they taught me how to do concept art. I didn't care if the teachers were compassionate and nice, in fact I preferred they were pretty brutal and honest. But however they were, I did

First of all, I want to apologize for not responding to you guys. I get piles of comments and notes on this account.
I know I've been getting many questions via PM and notes on DA and Facebook, but I haven't been able to answer them all. I do read them so keep commenting and sending notes!
I would like to have the opportunity for all to ask me common questions about me or anything art and game related here. I'll look through the comments and update this Journal Entry with new Q&A.
Only request is that you ask some relevant questions and not something too personal and inappropriate.
With that said, ask away!

Art Blocked? The Anatomy of Art BlockA brief edition, 7 years later, as this article is still receiving attention.Art Blocked? The Anatomy of Art Block7 years ago in Art Features More Like This
AS a webcomic artist who has now produced over 1,000 pages of work with no hesitation, I should amend this article with the following summary:
Art-block is caused by a lack of creative purpose. Purpose is the best means by which a vacillating artist might finally become motivated again. Whether it's as simple as the need to capture a beautiful image, like a sunset with a loved one, or as dire as the need to communicate an imperative revelation before death, this purpose is the key to allowing the feeling of importance, which will allow artists to undertake as great a task as making art.
Avoid irrelevant information.
Understand your own desires.
Feel no shame.
We all get art-blocked at one point. "I don't want to draw" or "I don't feel like drawing this..."
By understanding what art-block is, we can take steps to avoid it in the future, and pos

Yesterday I did my last exam and I am finally freeeee! I wanted to thank you for all the sweet wishes, because they worked: everything - well, almost everything, but it's okay - went well. I only have to wait for the results, now.
I'm looking forward to using my camera again, because unfortunately I've left it all alone during this hard period. In the meantime, let's enjoy some wonderful pictures!
