FireClan Assignment | Life Moves OnA moon had passed since the last of the warriors who had been inflicted with snake venom had succumbed to it. Most of the cats had finally gotten over the grief, and even those who were still not back to their full selves were doing much better than they had been a moon ago. As the evening sun slowly sank down the horizon, a tired Kindlestar stretched as she approached the fresh kill pile, hunger gnawing at her belly. Picking a snake from the pile, she dragged it away, thinking of nothing more than eating and later sinking into the nest in her den. Work on fixing the camp back to proper living conditions had finally been finished, but the last few errands had been overlooked by her that day, and in her eagerness to complete the work that same day she had tried her hardest to endure the heat stroke sun, a mistake she had to promise not to make again to both her deputy and her medicine cat.
"Oh yeah? Well guess what you little runt! We have dawn patrol
FireClan Assignment | The Fox's DenThe sun raising higher and higher with each passing minute, it would be less than an hour before the heat stroke sun settled upon the gorge, making it inhospitable until the sun lowered once more and took its unbearable, scorching heat with it. Close to the entrance, Kindlestar looked at her Clan as they settled and chatted outside, knowing it was too risky to attempt a quick patrol or hunt this close to midday. In a corner, she could see Brightpaw and Flashpaw whispering to each other, something they had curiously taken to lately whenever Russetpaw was still out training with Twopelt. As though if summoning them by thought alone, voices could be heard approaching the camp entrance, and turning to look at who had just arrived, Kindlestar was pleased to see her mate and youngest son reaching the safety of the camp in time. Walking towards her deputy, she pressed her head against his in greeting after licking Russetpaw's head before the latter bounded off to pouncFireClan Assignment | The Fox's Den2 years ago in Settings More Like This

An echoing, almost ethereal voice kept ringing inside Kindlestar's head as she lay on the ground on her side, not quite sure how she had gotten there. The last thing the ginger she cat remembered was struggling to keep up with Redsun, the wound the fox had given her when it had bit her neck piercing a vein, making blood gush out until she felt feint and blacked out. Was it Redsun who was now trying to wake her up? No... that wasn't right, the voice that was now trying to wake her up was not Redsun's. Gingerly opening one eye, the first thing that caught her attention was that she was no longer in FireClan's rocky terrain, but instead what could only be described as a starry sky, mist surrounding her, fogging up her view.
"Ah... you're awake now. I'm glad," the voice said again.
Ears perking up, Kindlestar turned towards the source of the voice, and her jaw dropped in surprise at the sight. A tom only slightl

Brightpaw’s voice echoed through the walls of the leader’s den as she poked her head in, having just received word from Flashpaw that their mother had called for her. Despite being related to the leader and how much trouble she usually got into with her mentor, she found it odd that she was being summoned for a meeting in such an official way, wondering what the leader deemed so important that it needed to be discussed in the privacy of her den. One look inside the leader’s quarters, however, and a knot instantly tied in her stomach, dread lingering over her head like a stormy cloud. Sitting in her usual spot was Kindlestar, looking at the entrance at Brightpaw’s words, an eerily calm look on her face. Just in front of her lay

The familiar words resounded throughout the camp guarded by nature's own walls, the only truly hospitable place in FireClan for the cats who lived there. This time, unlike many times before, the words seemed to almost echo as silence met them, no hushed voices whispering in excitement, no kits wanting to come out with their queens, only the soft padding of paws against earth and rock meeting the leader's call. Somber faces looked up at the petite cat standing on the charred log that half stood, half lay over the rocks and strong vines of the leaders den, reflecting a unified worry and anguish in all. Wishing nothing more than to reassure the sad faces her clanmates bore, Kindlestar could only suppress a sigh of concern herself. The greencough plague that had already taken the lives of so many of their clanmates and endangering the lives of much more hardly gave a mo
FireClan Ceremonies February 2014Like in the advent of every ceremony FireClan had ever had since Kindlestar had taken over as leader, everyone could be heard rustling and bustling, whispering excitedly at the prospect of new apprentices, and gossip always spread as to who the most likely candidate would be to mentor the mischievous fuzzballs. But this time it was different. Not only were the kits being apprenticed kits that had been born after the flood, been born in MoonClan, but the leader's kits were also among them, and rumors were spreading even more with some of them becoming wilder and wilder, most of the less realistic ones courtesy of overly imaginative apprentices. Nuzzling her three kits proudly as she felt a pang in her heart, knowing it was time to let them go, especially seeing as how it was by now impossible to distinguish which were the kits and which was the queen when they huddled together to sleep, it was still no easier for the petite leader. Once she was confident that theFireClan Ceremonies February 20142 years ago in Settings More Like This
A Bright Red Sunset | TWG RPThe wind was still over the dry canyon, leaving the air dead and suffocating. The sun had passed the high point in the sky and was beginning the journey back down to the horizon, and despite the heat in the air what few shadows that lingered still clung doggedly to the frost that had formed in the night.A Bright Red Sunset | TWG RP1 year ago in Settings More Like This
It was in one of these shadows that a figure crouched in silence, yellow eyes gleaming and dingy brown fur blending with the rocks. The gaze held fast to a crack in the rock formation before it where the faintest hint of movement could be seen just beyond the shadows that filled the entrance of the opening. Long minutes crept by before something small darted from the crack and in a sudden blur of pale brown a young cat leaped from his hiding place, pinning the ground squirrel beneath his paws. His mouth was near watering at the very sight of the incredibly plump rodent. In his euphoria he dropped his guard and prepared to feast, but his first mistake had been to ignore the warning scen
FireClan Ceremonies and Deaths January 2014Hushed whispers could be heard around the camp grounds as Kindlestar, the FireClan leader, leaped on to the Dead Tree, her voice breaking through the noise as she called for a clan meeting. Excitement could be felt vibrating through the air as the cats huddled close together, the cold of leaf bare nights beginning to sweep the camp. Despite the ill and the deaths that simply kept pilling on after the snake invasion, the ceremony had everyone excited. After all, apprentice assessments had been going on among the older apprentices for the past moon, so a ceremony now could only mean one thing. "My clanmates, we have cause for celebration tonight," Kindlestar began, and the gleeful stares of the FireClanners all rose towards her, their suspicions answered. "Today we have five dedicated apprentices, who despite the hardships they went through during their trainin
FireClan Assignment - The Return HomeAfter months of shamefully living in MoonClan territory, Kindlestar had finally been able to lead her clan back to their original territory... but the price to pay was high, and much work needed to be done before their camp was once more the sanctuary in the middle of the gorge that they could call home. Apprentices heading out with their mentors for training and assessments, kits bewildered by the strange, harsh environment they were now living in, and elders once more complaining about the heat... although a hint of a smile could be seen in their eyes... it was obvious that the clan was trying to re-adapt as much as they could. There were some cats, however, that had been unable to do much since they had arrived. The ones who had been left behind, wounded by the snake's poison and at the brink of death. Wanting to see how these cats were fairing, Kindlestar had left Twopelt in charge of the patrols while she headed towards Emberstripe's den.FireClan Assignment - The Return Home2 years ago in Settings More Like This

FireClan Assignment: MourningA quiet, tense air filled the air in FireClan as one by one, the ones who had survived the snake battle that had been bitten succumbed to the poison, and in turn the death toll on FireClan had been raising by at least one per day... and now finally, the last ones were being taken away from Emberstripe's den, their bodies being placed in the center of the camp as the cats who were about to leave in their dawn patrols took horrified glances at their dead clanmates before heading out. As Emberstripe instructed the cats helping with the moving of the fallen warriors, Kindlestar watched on, a blank look in her eyes as she saw Leafpaw being dragged away, the sight of a fallen apprentice always bringing a twinge of regret to her. Hearing pawsteps approaching her, Kindlestar turned her gaze, only to see her deputy padding towards her, an equally serious look on his face. Exchanging a glance, she turned her head back towards the moving of the bodies, and as the last one was taFireClan Assignment: Mourning2 years ago in Settings More Like This

A moment of silence followed Kindlestar's words, and pushing past him outside of the nursery, the petite leader saw with horror the frail apprentice's body broken in front of her, a few cats already looking at her with eyes of mourning. Her yellow gaze quickly landed on Viperfang's, who was currently being surrounded by clanmates giving their condolences on how he had lost his first apprentice, and congratulating him on his heroism, on how he had gone down the cliff to rescue his surrounded patrol members, and how he had refused to leave Howlpaw's body behind. Narrowing her eyes, Kindlestar couldn't help but feel as though if that glint in Viperfang's gaze was no melancholy, but glee and pride instead. Not wishing to seem paranoid, or even to falsely accuse a FireClan warrior who had proven himself time and time again, s
