The Making of YOSHINARI'S LITTLE WITCH ACADEMIAFor all aspiring artists/ students who whish to work in 2D animation production, and those already in 2D animation who know little to nothing about actual 2D animation production, here is but a glimpse of what it's like. This is also a pretty brilliant program enacted by Japanese grants to nurture the talent pool for the new generation. Watch director Yoh Yoshinari (gurren Lagaan, Evangelion, FLCL) train 5 young animators at his newly founded animation company STUDIO TRIGGER (KIll LA KILL), as he guides them through the process of helping him create the first episode of the wildly popular Little Witch Academia OVA. Inspiring stuff and a true peek behind the curtain of what it's like for young artists/creatives/animators who work under a giant like Yoshinari. The Making of YOSHINARI'S LITTLE WITCH ACADEMIA8 months ago in Personal More Like This
I HATE THIS GUY. Seriously. I quit, LOL.I discovered Kim Jung Gi during my years living in South Korea when I came across his first sketchbook in '09. It was a blue and red bible of non-stop art. it made me cry. SEEING him do what he does, however, makes me contemplating giving up art altogether, lol. T________T #SoGoodI HATE THIS GUY. Seriously. However, "Will my dreams ever come true?" is not the most important question you can ask yourself right now.
The bigger question that bad news reveals is this:
" IF MY DREAM DIES, WHAT WILL I DO?"
It is wise to decide how you'll respond to failure and seemingly insurmountable obstacles before you face them" :

Every once in awhile, I come across a picture that takes my breath away. My DeviantART page has been kinda bland recently, so I thought it would be cool to dedicate a section of it to feature these awesome pics. You'll find it under a section called Awesome Pic of the Day. It's much easier and quicker to post these, and I'll try to keep it updated daily or as close to it as I can get. If you think it's a good idea, let me know, and I'll keep it around. I'll archive the history of pictures in this journal entry.

SAI pressure sensitivity SOLUTION!!!Now, there has been a lot of problems over this I'm gonna tell you what to do with some handy screenshots.SAI pressure sensitivity SOLUTION!!!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
It gets really annoying when you loose pressure sensitivity and you're in the middle of drawing and that is because sometimes SAI can lose you're settings, after you have been told to remove all preferences and that, you, like me, may get no response from your pen but only when you press hard on it. I have found a great solution.
This might not work for all users, because of the type of laptop and the type of tablet because it has no sensitivity installed on it at all., but I hope that this will work for you.
Note: Before we go on I forgot to say that you need a tablet, Wacom preferably and you also have to have purchased SAI.
So, thats what it looks like. yours might be different though, but the next steps will help. Go to Others - Options - DigitalSupport
DC puss out. While at my local comic-book emporium, I had a quick leaf through Harley Quinn #0 to check out the winning page from DC’s recent talent search.DC puss out.11 months ago in Personal More Like This
It didn’t do much to dampen the disdain I harbour for the big-name comic companies.
For a start, I’m not sure how that page was selected as the cream of the crop. Bravo to the artist for being selected, sure, but there were far more dynamic, lively examples I saw posted here on DA, and I'm genuinely surprised that none of them were chosen. The page selected feels just as stiff, stagnant, sterile and devoid of life as much of the other stuff DC discharges onto the shelves (which might have been why they ran with it).
The main gripe I have, though, is that they changed the final panel.
For those that (somehow) missed the whoo-haa that the whole talent search kicked off: the script DC provided to their would-be artists called for illustrations depicting the titular Harley trying to off herself in a series of absurd ways: holding

on stylesimma keep this one simple....on styles2 years ago in Personal More Like This
style is just how the artist feels like treating his or her world at any given time!
it is influenced by the styles of other artists the artist admires
it is an amalgamation of influences mixed with personal sensibility....
it is perpetually changing and evolving
and it is not a trademarked property
see, i personally am a mix of influences from michael turner , adam hughes, marc silvestri, alex ross a few concept artist, and my design is greatly influenced by stan winston studio
my cartoonyer style is influenced greatly by disney and don bluth with a dash of manga and a healthy dose of j scott campbell who can probably tell you a similar story about the origins of his own style
its the nature of humanity people.
we stand on each others shoulders striving for greatness. so too will i influence quite a few artists who will adapt my own approaches into their workflow.
also.... i'm batman!
just to see who is still reading XD

Enhorabuena: ¡cuánto talento!Es un chorro cósmico de placer entrar todos los días a este grupo.Enhorabuena: ¡cuánto talento!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Double Dragon NEONHi there guys! As maybe you know Double Dragon NEON was released the last week! and whoa! It was an incredible project! I´ve got several notes and emails asking if I was involved in the game: "billy and Jimmy looks like your charas", "the girls!", etc... so, yes! I worked in chara design and concept art. Was really an honor not only to be part of a franchise that I love like Double Dragon (as a kid, I spent hours playing the original game on arcades and then withe the NES version) but also to work with one of the game developers I deeply admire like Wayforward in this love letter to the 80´s. You can play it right now in your Xbox 360 and PS3!!! I hope you like it! I love brawlers! hope to upload some of the images soon tooDouble Dragon NEON2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Also this is the last week for pre-release of CLOUD RIDERS, the new Kerion album! you can pre-order it and get some goodies like a big poster of the cover I´ve done and also some nice cards of the characters I designed for
Some people asked me... Why do you still draw Ms Paint and not Photoshop? MS-Paint sucks and it will never get to the top rated digital-art category. Change your art program to new improved ones that doesn't suck. Some people asked me...2 years ago in Personal More Like This
My Answer: Because MS-Paint has grown me from the very beginning of my digital drawing-hobby.
Two, It never sucks. MS-Paint is free... it always stayed at the accessories tab in windows.
Three, never underestimate the Ms-Painted Skilled artists. Anyone CAN draw with any program they want.
If Ms-Paint is like the underdog of digital-art world? (Then Imagine the Initial-D's Trueno AE86 and Takumi... just like MS-PAINT and Myself xD lol)
And if they want me to give up drawing, then HELL NO! >_

Disney closes LucasArtsF**k you, Disney. F**k you.Disney closes LucasArts2 years ago in Personal More Like This
If you are not angered by this news, you're obviously a very young gamer and probably (rightly) see LucasArts as nothing more than a mediocre-Star-Wars-title-discharging-sewer-pipe.
Disney bought LucasFilm because of the Star Wars cash-cow, but the number of classic IPs produced by LucasArts throughout the 90s makes the descision to close it rather than attempt to return to the studio to its glory days pretty staggering.
I actually see way more potential in LucasArts IPs than Star Wars.....but then, so would anyone with even the most stunted of creative minds.
Disney obviously still own all the properties, but the LucasArts brand is gone, and it's the end of an era, even if they start picking at the corpse for ideas to ruin.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Secret of Monkey Island, anyone?
TO THE ASPIRING ARTISTS...."The advice I like to give young artists, or really anybody who'll listen to me, is not to wait around for inspiration. Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself. Things occur to you. If you're sitting around trying to dream up a great art idea, you can sit there a long time before anything happens. But if you just get to work, something will occur to you and something else will occur to you and something else that you reject will push you in another direction. Inspiration is absolutely unnecessary and somehow deceptive. You feel like you need this great idea before you can get down to work, and I find that's almost never the case." - Chuck CloseTO THE ASPIRING ARTISTS....2 years ago in Personal More Like This
