My DiseaseMy fingers bleed words
that my lips cannot say.
When they try to trickle out,
I scowl and turn away.
It may not be contagious,
but it is a disease.
Holding myself deep inside,
it's getting hard to breathe.
Lies come so easy,
to cover up the truth.
It’s like my second nature,
grown from my very youth.
It’s deeper than conviction,
more earnest than a thought.
It’s my way
It’s my life
It is my disease.

You’ll see a person behind this face,
A beating heart beneath this chest,
A fire burning for life, for love:
You’ll see something beautiful.
Stop and look closer.
I’m not a number, not a name—
I am myself, just as you are
Unique, special, one-of-a-kind.
Please don’t look right through me.
Stop and look closer.
I wish to know you, and you me;
I wish to see beyond the surface
Of yourself; I wish to touch your soul.
Please don’t brush me aside.
Stop and look closer.
For just a moment, just a minute,
Give me a chance to show you
This burning flame I keep inside.
Please share yourself with me.
Stop and look closer!
As you turn away to leave,
My burning heart turns to icy stone.
If you would just give me a chance...
Please don’t leave me.
Stop! Look closer!
Why do you always leave?
Why don’t you see me when I see you?
I would never leave if you’d just...
Please come back to me!
Stop! Look at me!
I’ll die if you

The thought isn't comforting
It feels like an attack.
The sort that keeps me up at night;
Why my fingernails are short.
Like a dark and looming blight;
A disheartening exhort.
Better, better, better!
The expectation is quite blunt.
Never, never, never...
Exactly what they want.
I'm not the person I want to be,
Due to expectations.
Under the eyes that never see
My pain is their creation.

Whose eyes rain crystals,
Why do you wish to heal?
Do you not understand the beauty
Of your ability to feel?
Whose grin’s so bright,
Why do you wish to change?
A soul with no emotion
Would appear to be quite strange.
Whose face is dull,
Why do you live this myth?
You choose to be a shadow,
Smashing daisies with your fist.
With wounds and scars,
Why have you chosen this death?
No, sinking into your own grave
Would be better than such regret.
You’ve started to feel,
Just recently you’ve started to cry.
You’ve been down this path again and again,
With a pain you’re designed to deny.
Whose eyes rain crystals,
Why do you wish to heal?
Do you not remember the torture
Of being unable to feel?

An innocent smile, a heart of gold.
So begins the story, each time it is told.
The ending leaving you, bitter and cold.
Your “soulmate” leads you into her bed.
That’s how she traps you, with lovely legs spread.
Desire and lust dominate your head.
Spellbound you agree to whatever is said.
Her manipulations are a mastered art.
As her trusting victim, you play the part.
She promises to love you with all her heart.
And with sick satisfaction she tears you apart.
From this trance you eventually awake.
That’s when you discover, trust is a mistake.
Your wonderful woman was a scheming snake.
Blinding you with her poison and taking all she could take.
You’re left alone, bitten and broke.
All you had, all you believed, all up in smoke.
Secretly wishing, you had never woke.
She made you love her, and her love was a joke.

I know of worse flaws I have seen,

I sometimes lose my temper,
Use my mouth before my mind;
I ponder things I could do better,
And regret them for a time.
I can be harsh, I can be blunt,
I tend to hide my thoughts;
But this is far from what I want:
To be in someone's heart.
Comparisons are hard to make
Since we are all unique.
But half the time my words are fake;
The real me is a freak.
These flaws define me, describe me—
They make me what I am.
In that light, I'm proud to say that

Against a boy- stone in hand

In his eyes see brightening hope
To strengthen (still) the breaking rope
Of justice, rights and human love
As airplanes hover up above
And I wonder, hands are shaking
Faith is crumbling, words are breaking
Torn up hope and spirits broken,
Muting people when words are spoken,
Time is racing against a pen,
And I wonder once again,
Who is weak, and who is strong?
Who is right, and who is wrong?
And I wish, whilst blood is dripping
Chains are beating, whips are whipping
See the image- bleeding men
Hear the clock chime- broken pen
Again I wonder and I wish
If only the truth had words to speak
Words to tell when days are bleak

Sitting here alone,
I drown the quiet with music.
I know I have to keep it together.
That doesn't send the depression running though.
Every moment ticks by
With infinite slowness.
My mind presents impulses.
Mild ones first-

Ever so stealthily,
More psychotic impulses surface.
I know I can’t-
I just feel frightened by my own mind,

He was as plain as I was, perhaps even plainer. Though blond, his hair wasn't brilliant, in fact, it was dirty and matted. He wasn't the picture of perfection either, in fact, he was the opposite.
Pale and thin, dirty and uncared for, I saw him in the alley with a needle stuck in his arm.
A dose of heroine destroyed him, spoiled him...but I still saw an angel.
Perhaps it was the smile he gave me, when I gave him fifty cents go buy some cigarettes.
Perhaps it was the way his dull eyes looked at me, lost and distant....alone.
Perhaps it was the way they screamed, “I'm still human”.
