The properties are:
Lets see what can we do with these new fancy stuffs!
What does these attributes do?
1) content--> it is used to insert generated content in your HTML (Journal body for DA). Don't worry, don't worry! I'll tell you what is this "generated" content!
2) counter-increment --> it is used to insert numbers (or counters) to sections or sub-sections. I'll explain what "sections" and "sub-sections" are don't worry again!
3) counter-reset --> it is used to reset the counters
All these 3 properties are generally interlinked and are used together. But the "content" property can be used alone and has some cool usage.

How to Write Helpful Critiques/ FeedbackNow that I have been looking at several literature pieces a week, there aren't a whole lot of comments that provide the writers with feedback. So here's a guide that I thought might be useful for some people on how to provide helpful feedback and critiques. How to Write Helpful Critiques/ Feedback6 months ago in Literature Features More Like This
Before I begin, I would like to say that I have been a part of a wonderful writing group for the past four years. The writing club is where I first learned how to do a critique. I have also been taught some critique techniques during my college studies. In addition to the writing club and college classes, I have been doing my best to leave helpful feedback and critiques here on deviantART. This guide is based entirely off of my personal experience. As I think of more tips, I will be editing this guide.
Make sure to respond to any questions they have asked in the artist's descriptions.

SpeechlessSeriously. The sheer horrifying nature of the internet has left me speechless for now.Speechless1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I live in a free country, where freedom of speech is an important matter. A long while ago, when I was still young and at school, we learned how to do a proper discussion in class. We were learned that provocation isn't that bad to get a message across, but that you should always have at least some respect for the people you discuss with, and talk with them with calmness and reason. If you lose your temper, you lose the argument. That's what I've learned.
The reactions I got on my last journal, however, have left met both sad and speechless. Because I'm unable to grasp how people can be so downright insulting towards a fellow human being. To a member of the same website....
My journal wasn't meant to tell people how much I hate fanartist. Because... I don't really hate them. I just feel sad about how hard it is to get attention for original work in the sea of fanart ou
Why You Should Still Be Experimenting As we began our trek into the world of art most of us spent a decent amount of time experimenting to find our niche. Why You Should Still Be Experimenting6 months ago in Art Features More Like This
But for many artists, once they find their place and style they often stop listening for any other callings.
What Exactly do You Mean by "Experiment".
Trying new things - of course we should experiment and text our tools, that's one of the first steps to becoming an artist in learning what you're working with and how to use your resources and tools to produce the best outcome for your art. What this article is about however is going outside your style and technique.
Why Should You Experiment?
Experimenting is a crucial part of learning. It's also a giant piece of expanding, improving and adding to what you already have. Imagine if the first thing you created was all you ever did. I'd be taking photo after photo of the sunrise: two problems with that are I'm not a mining person
Approvals and Tickets and Fraud, OH MY!Hello again, everybody!Approvals and Tickets and Fraud, OH MY!1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
For this article, I thought I would go into some detail as to what I do here at deviantART. You've seen my recent articles so you know I'm getting more involved in the printscommunity group, but otherwise I may as well be an anonymous $admin. I'm going to explain the different parts of my job, focusing mainly on my prints duties specifically since that's why you're all here, right?
Did you have a print that was rejected within the past year and a half? There's a pretty good chance that it was me who did it.
So... Awkward. Sorry 'bout that!
That is one of the main reasons why I have been doing these articles. The more information I can get out there about creating a quality print product, the less I will (hopefully) need to reject and the more we all can sell!
When Prints are Approved
I wish we had the staff so that every print could be viewed and approved the second it was submitted to devi

1. How did you join dA?
I had this friend in high school that had an account on DeviantArt back in 2002 or 2003 or so. But back then both DA and my internet connection were slow as hell, the page loads took ages, and I kept scolding him "Can't you show me any of your drawings that aren't on that crappy slow website!??". Back in time I used to have my own website for my art and story's. It was really common to have your own site in that time, as there were no social media websites or whatsoever and back then all of us internet people were programming nerds (or so I like to pretend -- to make me appe
Won't Receive Points? And Convert Points to MoneyJust some quick tips~Won't Receive Points? And Convert Points to Money1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I often see people saying the commission widget won't work
or saying they didn't receive and lost the points when taking commissions using it.
This is most likely NOT a bug!
When using the commission widget, the points you earn will be showing
in your earning page instead https://www.deviantart.com/account/earnings/
Hint: This is also where you are able to convert
your points to money if you have Paypal ;>
I have seen people having this problem countless of times,
so I thought I could write a quick journal and hopefully it can
help the few people who had this little problem
and are reading this

fear and struggles"if you're making mistakes, it means you're out there doing something" -Neil Gaimanfear and struggles2 years ago in Personal More Like This
getting inactive again lately because besides work and my current addiction of playing , I've been spending my free time with alot of traditional sketches and scribbles! and when I don't draw anything I do ponder..ALOT. forgive me if this seems long and disjointed.
I pretty much read nicholaskole's journal about art fear a while back and I realized I've gotten too used to the digital medium, which my self-confidence and skill in drawing using pencil reach down to zero. Digital has become my comfort zone, anything I produced was not in par as my digital works so I just stopped trying at all. I definitely don't think there's anything wrong with keeping something you're used to, but at times when I feel like I don't feel as challenged as before it comes to the point where suddenly it demotivates me to draw.
Always put off trying again, my papers and paint were gathering dust and ants.. thinki

Originally, February 23 was known in the USSR as 'The Soviet Army Day'; after the Soviet era, it was renamed to 'The Motherland's Defenders Day' and was primarily celebrated by the army ranks. Nowadays, it has broadened its range and right now Feb, 23 is celebrated in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and other post-Soviet countries just by everyone who belongs to the male gender.
Ladies, don't worry - you will be dearly congratulated on March, 8

How to cope with Art BlocksAlmost every single artist has at one point or the other in their life lost motivation, inspiration or even both and without the knowledge of how to deal with what we then call an Art Block, it can take a long time to overcome this lack of artistic drive. A time that might otherwise be used for further improvement and personal artistic growth. How to cope with Art Blocks3 years ago in Personal More Like This
So today I would like to give you a few tips on how to defeat an art block. There is no definite guarantee to either of them, as everybody experiences their blocking differently but maybe you can at least find small suggestions that will eventually help.
Inspiration is literally everywhere, you just need to open your eyes to see it.
We can find inspiration through:
Letting your favourite books, movies, series or games inspire you is always one of the most obvious ways. Fan Art is a good way to retrieve inspiration because most of all y
Did You Know - Thumbs CodeThumbs CodeDid You Know - Thumbs Code9 months ago in Art Features More Like This
Whenever you do a feature or maybe want to link to a certain deviation the thumbs code is a very handy feature. It allows your viewers to see a smaller version of what you are referring to directly.
But did you know that there are several ways to make thumbs appear?
The most common way is to grab the thumbs code from the sidebar of a deviation.
That way you will get a little preview no bigger than 150x150px.
Another thing you can do is to create a big thumb. For that you just need to add 'big' to the thumbcode, like :bigthumb###:
For our example it will look like this.
Big thumbs will get no bigger than 300x300px.
Alongside those and thanks to AddMedia and Sta.sh you also vary the size on your own.
Either choose deviations from the AddMedia sidebar and make use of the transformation corners or use this code

Artists Beware + A Chargeback FraudHello Lovely people,Artists Beware + A Chargeback Fraud4 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Today, I stumbled upon several journals by members who all got scammed by one person. Pixlett / ToxicMutagen (who deactivated their accounts today) scammed more than 3,000 USD from more than 20 artists by filling chargebacks just after a while from paying for adopts or commissions. And apparently, they can do the same with points too.

I can't really do anything but to share this with you in hope you won't get scammed by this person.
Here are some journals written about this issue:
And your points aren't safe:
This is a great journal on how to prevent these chargebacks. Check it out:
Feel free to spread this around.
Publishing ScamsCopied and pasted from my blog since deviantART's been having this problem for a while now. I had meant to post something on this matter back in October since it was when I noticed more and more "publishers" like this popping up on the site, but never got around to it. Of course, with all of these unprofessional publishers coming out of the woodwork again recently, I thought I'd share what I shared on my blog here.Publishing Scams1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
What is a scam publisher?
Essentially, a scam publisher is a press that cheats authors into believing that they are getting traditionally published by their rules and guidelines. However, if you read the fine print, you'll see that "traditionally" publishing you is not at all what's happening. This can range from promising royalties which never come, making you pay a fee to be published, or even stem from lack of professionalism. While the term "scam" usually means forcing you to pay, there are many other

PE: How to Scan and Adjust ImagesTutorial Time: How to scan and adjust images on Photoshop!PE: How to Scan and Adjust Images3 months ago in Art Features More Like This
Hello everyone, welcome to this tutorial article of PE week!
well, you know, there is this youtube channel where there's lots of videos regaring tips, tricks and general advice for artists, and it is the best I've seen of the kind. But sadly, it is only in portuguese - hence why cinyu came up with the great idea of getting me to translate one of their videos!
I decided to pick up this one regarding scanning and adjusting images on photoshop, because that is one of the most basic, yet worst parts for many traditional artists. This tutorial is mostly for scanning black and white works, so it'll be more useful if you're working on manga/comic pages or inked art, but I hope it'll give you some ideas and help out in general on how scanning works.
I'll be translating the most important parts of the video, along with screenshots. Let's get started!

MMD and Cyber-BullyingMMD and Cyber-Bullying2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
So one morning I was going through my DA messages and there was one from deviant RaikuHoshigami with a rather interesting proposition. Basically, he suggested that I write an article on "Cyber-Bullying" as it pertains to MMD.
He raised some really interesting points with respect to this subject and in a nutshell these were all points that affect many of us here on DA who are MMDers, either directly or indirectly. Especially since outside of Japan, many MMDers are exactly in the demographic groups most likely to be affected by "Cyber-Bullying"; namely those who are in their pre-teen and teens. There are also instances to my direct knowledge where some who are in their early 20s have been negatively impacted in their experiences with MMD by others on DA. So, this is a subject worth visiting in a little more depth.
So what we will do here are the following:
(And I'm afraid we can only touch the subject in this article briefly as i
