BlindImagine your life, like a light,
Having a parent with no sight,
And at a young age, you'll know your own way home.
To guide and to see,
Your life would soon be,
And your life getting less and less bright.
Friends making jokes,
About the non-seeing folks,
And you sit in your seat, in tears.
Trying to lend you a hand,
They just don't understand,
That the pain comes from words they spoke.
Though instead, think of whose life must suffer,
Images growing much rougher,
And they can't see their child's own face.
With bumped and bruised knees,
From such, normally, avoidable injuries,
Their skin and bones simply tougher.
The colors of anything, even the color of your eye,
Or maybe those boring old birds in the sky,
Your parent can't experience at all.
While you partially hope the trait isn't genetic,
Your heart is feeling quite sympathetic,
For the one you love, who suffers, never having hurt a fly.
And then....that's when you ask, why?

Because of the way my crystalline heart reflects light off its fractured surface
Well, that isn't a reflection
It’s rejection of the light because it’s all too much to handle
Throw myself away into the dark without even a candle
‘Cause I don’t want to recognize all the pain I’m in
Or realize the truth behind what I am or who I've been
And I tried to make things right but I just keep on making wrong
I never listened to the angel on my shoulder when she called
I count my tears like they’re experience
And my scars like they’re mysterious
And that’s a feeling I’ll remember –
Watching as you left
Watching as you ended what was meant to be forever
And I can see it in their eyes; everyone can empathize
So they say that I’m beautiful because they don’t know what else to say.
But if being broken is beautiful, then it’s the ugliest way...

"What do you want?" she hissed at me with her bratty voice
"Do you remember the girl you called fat? She's now starving herself because of you."
"So? Why would I care?" she asked
"Remember the boy you called stupid? He actually is the smartest kid in school and now you made him feel like he was stupid."
"Whatever. Your wasting my time hurry up."
"Remember the boy you made fun of his laughing? His mother died 2 days ago, and you think laughing made him better, it made him worse.
She was speechless and looking guilty with the look in her face.
"Do you remember the girl that sleeps in every class and you called her "Miss Sleepy-Head?" Her mom gave birth to a 8th child and the crib is in her room. She has to take care of it, while you live a happy perfect only-child life.
She looked down at the ground and looked like she was having a hard time.
"Finally, do you remember calling me ugly, stupid, and fat?" I lifted up the right sleeve of my t-shirt

She was hunched up on the kitchen floor, her arms wrapped around her legs, her eyelashes wrapped around her bloodshot eyes. She looked up at me as I dropped the key I had never given back into my pocket. Her feet and hands were bloodied and full of cuts.
She said nothing as I crunched my way over the broken glass to her and hunched down, balancing on the balls of my feet. She looked down.
“What did you do?” I asked, looking around the messy kitchen, filled with shards of glass and broken plates. I noticed she was holding the phone in one hand and a champagne glass in the other. The only intact one left, I observed from my place facing the open cupboards and empty sh

But you're the sun that waits for a single moment
To shimmer down the warmth that I need.
You're the fiery flares that peel off the sun
And brighten up the darkness that I have traveled through.
You're the rippling ocean on a tranquil night,
The cyan tides that wrap around me instead of drowning me.
You're even the depth of the ocean
That I wish to adventure downward and discover what you hold.
You're fire and water interlaced with each other…
And yet have a mellifluous personality that shines enough that can give sight to the blind…
I can't describe you in any form,
But you're the tranquility I oh so desperately need,
And the light that can help me exit the darkness.

If one thing could say something, then that did.
I can remember everything.
You shaped me. Made me.
We grew into each other. We fell apart with each other.
I cannot remember anything without you.
I can remember exactly when we first kissed.
The way your lips felt soft and curious, against mine.

Another life and world away, with you.
If I know what love is, it is because of you.

just for pointless self-hatred?

The heartfelt plea

but not pleasantly surprised
by your betrayal,
now the pale kiss

trying to scrape through unscathed
knowing i was broken.
Now you ask me what is wrong
then you ask me why i speak so grave,
the fact is you don't know the truth

That when my eyes are clouded
And my mind is empty
I can hear the clock ticking,
Counting each worthless second gone by.
Do matter how hard I try,
My heart won't beat in unison
With the indefinite continuation
Did you know
That when I lay with my ear close to the ground
I can hear the pulse of the earth beneath me.
It slowly spins,
Yet filled with the dead.
Did you also know
That when the blood rushes through my body,
I can hear the wind tremble and quake
With a familiar fear.
Because it knows its fleeting existence
Will slip through the world's fingers.
Did you know
That I'm afraid of that too?

Your eyes begin to close, slowly but surely, as you drift to sleep. Every internal guard you may have built around your mind is retracting; everything you want kept out is silently creeping in as well as anything you want kept in is gradually oozing out. Your wonders, fears, hopes, despairs, displayed. You're vulnerable. Subconsciously realizing this, you wrap yourself in the blanket, hoping for some kind of protection. It won't help though.
Your breathing continues at a steady pace, slightly faster than your breathing when awake. You shift in preparation of the long hours ahead. Silence.
Your mind, still slightly aware, registers the light tapping at the window as a branch blown by the wind. The qui

The City had died, that much was visible from a glance. Bodies were strewn over streets, park benches, in libraries and coffee shops, in cars and buses and skyscrapers and apartments. But the decay hadn’t set in yet, oh no. The butchery had ended, but the processing hadn’t yet begun. The ungodly stench was only just starting to leak out into the crisp air.

I can still picture my wife, sitting in the chair across from me, complimenting the soup that I sip on now, which had always seemed a little bland to me. White sails proud amidst the storm
From fierce clouds, the lightning stark
mocked the glow of fire warm
Proud she stood to fight the wind
Her dragon tall in growing light
While thunder roared in ceaseless din
Hating the fair craft so bright
On she sailed in crushing waves
Towards the first of sunrise's rays
Enraged, the roiling storm gave chase
But slowly faded in the warmth of day
Thus she emerged in shining form
To sail in light for evermore
Never again would there be a storm
That dared to challenge the Dragon's roar.

Is this sleep,
When I close my eyes?
Or is it death,
When I rest my head?
I am lost,

Is this real,
When I hear your voice?
Or is it an illusion,
When I see your face?
I am lost,
I do not know
Where I am,
When I look ahead.
Or where I've been,
When I look back.
I am lost,
I have forgotten
How to speak,

Or how to scream,
When terror fills my lungs.
I am lost,

No one noticed,
When I went away.
They can see me,
