A RetrospectiveHello Ryceballs! So I was looking through my god awful gallery the other day and had a nostalgic moment when I saw some of my old artworks, I am happy to say that I have improved over the 5 years stay here on Deviantart (Thank god...). So I just want to show you a few of my earlier artworks and talk a little about the story behind each one of them. I must admit that the early artworks you see on this list is not REALLY the first few artworks I uploaded on Deviantart, but I have since got rid of my even older ones because I really really dislike them, I don't want you guys to vomit blood ok. If you guys REALLY want to see the ones I have deleted.. I guess I can dig into the abyss of my old computer and find it. Anyways here goes!A Retrospective2 years ago in Personal More Like This

Back from my week of holidays with PHOTOSActually I have been back for a few days already but have been EXTREMELY busy with work and handling messages and people I need to talk to bla bla bla bla. Anyways Im back (For now), I will be off again in a weeks time, then come back and then go on my Hong Kong Trip. I KNOW. TRIPS EVERYWEHRE. But yeah this holiday trip was a lot of fun for me, went to James Bond Exhibition in the Melbourne Museum, Karaoke, movies, Zoo, Aquarium, Bowling, DDR (Brought back High School dancing Ry), food, a LOT of food! Its just really great fun, I DESERVE THIS HOLIDAY. SO yeah, enjoy some photos.Back from my week of holidays with PHOTOS1 year ago in Personal More Like This
We start the adventure off with Daniel Craig's underwear. Yes
I was a Bond girl in one of the James Bond movies Im not sure if you guys know this.

I really like the entrance to the exhibition. Its so cool! It looks like the intro to the bond movies and with the theme song playing in the background, you can't help but feel like you are
Back from Brisnova, Adelaidenova, PurpleKecleonovaSorry this is a bit late, but I have a report to give. On my trip at Brisbane and Adelaide Supanova. It was a good 2 weeks, met lots of people and ate lots of delicious food and just a very good time. Oh also the title is misleading I know, I only attended 2 cons. PurpleKecleonova is not a con, but she might as well be one cos she's so awesome. And yes it was lovely meeting purplekecleon in person, she gave me one of the best suggestion of the year ever, increase my price :I and so I did, cos when a Pokemon Goddess tells you to do something, you do it. And that has been the best decision I made. It was also good to see my Bulba friends again, owner of Bulbapedia Liam Pomfret and his lovely wife and a good friend of mine alexandrasalas. Also saw Mamath again, shes the one who suggested I get a Wacom Cintiq, which I did and yes it did help with my drawing speed. Also met coloursupply who was gonna do a dev meet but we ended up doing a small dinner gathering instead, she alsBack from Brisnova, Adelaidenova, PurpleKecleonova1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Went Undercover as a Student at a UniversitySorry for lack of updates, I have been away for a bit. But now I am back to tell more stories and upload more art. Anyway. Sometimes Ry can be a troll (Just sometimes). And I did exactly that last week actually. I pulled off a 21 Jump Street. Right, so I was in Melbourne for a convention and I also stayed longer for a few days to hang out with friends. The night before convention, my friend Alice (Who is a core member of the Japan Club) invited me to visit her University at RMIT for a Japanese movie night as part of her Japan Club's activity. At first I was a bit unsure whether I should go or not since I am not a member of the club or the Uni. But I do like to watch Japanese movies, so I went! :iconmingplz:Went Undercover as a Student at a University1 year ago in Personal More Like This
So there I was, in a room full of young fresh Uni students. One thing I noticed is that when I went into the club room, some people knew each other but many were first timers, they were all introducing themselves to each other, and I did as well. At that mome
The Millennium Bug Comic IntroductionSo. Around when I was at the age of 12. Me and my high school friends got together and wrote one of the best true story ever told in mankind history. We decided that little Ry should be the artist for turning this amazing story into a 6 book comic. It is the story of the Millennium Bug. For those who didn't know (Or weren't born). People were panicking over this thing called the Millennium Bug, apparently in the year 2000 the computers would crash because they can't handle the numbers going from 1999 to 2000, and the stock market would collapse and planes would crash and stuff, all hell would break loose apparently, some people were actually legitimately terrified over this. But of course that never happened... coincidence? Nope. It was me and my friends who literally went into the computer to stop these evil 'bugs' from destroying the world. We saved your butts! We saved Earth ok.The Millennium Bug Comic Introduction1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Anyway just letting you guys know that I have decided to post the scans of this comic serie
Back from RysolationDear Ryceballs. I have returned. It was a short hiatus, but it was a necessary one. I traveled miles and miles on foot into the Indian Desert by myself, in hope that I would be able to find my missing soul, cos thats what people do when they wanna find their soul right? They always go to India. I called it my 'rysolation period'. So I was out soul searching. On my journey, people has been encouraging to me, giving me kind words and needed motivational speeches, I thank you, you know who you are. I think I am more collected and positive now. Yeah I think I am back. Oh also on my soul search I have had time to work out some 'things'. So yeah look forward to more 'things' from me in the future. The desert was hot as hell by the way, don't really recommend it, what my soul was doing there is beyond me.Back from Rysolation2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Ok thats it for now.
Gime a topic for original artLets try somthing new. I wanna do some original art ok, but thought it might be fun if people throw in subjects/ideas/topics/random things in the comments. Then I will interpret it in my own artistic ways. It can be anything really, and if I read it and feels it can be an interesting looking picture, I will draw it. Any questions? No? Good. Comment away!Gime a topic for original art1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Death of a ConventionKinda sad day actually. But last saturday I attended a funeral, a funeral of a convention called Animania. I have talked about Animania before in my previous journals, the last few ones weren't very positive, I called it Emptimania and made jokes about the dying con, well no more jokes can be made anymore, because Animania is no more.Death of a Convention1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Animania was my first ever convention I ever attended, my ex brought me there and opened my eyes to a whole new world I never knew existed. I cosplayed as L from Deathnote and got lots of people taking photos of me, that felt weird... (but i liked it //shot). Back then Animania was also the big deal, it had a great location, great guests, interesting panels, and most importantly it had LOTS of people going. Then (From what I heard), the organisers got greedy and started doing things for profit which led to the downfall of the convent
PE: The art of OrigamiWhat is Origami?PE: The art of Origami2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Origami (折り紙, from ori meaning "folding", and kami meaning "paper" (kami changes to gami due to rendaku) is the traditional Japanese art of paper folding, which started in the 17th century AD at the latest and was popularized outside of Japan in the mid-1900s. It has since then evolved into a modern art form. The goal of this art is to transform a flat sheet of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques, and as such the use of cuts or glue are not considered to be origami. Paper cutting and gluing is usually considered kirigami.
History of origami
Have had the most extensive tradition, there is evidence of an independent tradition of paperfolding in China, as well as in Germany, Italy and Spain among other places. However, because of the problems associated with preserving origami, there is very little direc

ry-SPIRIT DAYIn bringing awareness of Spirit Day (Which is now called Ry-Spirit Day due to my creative and narcissistic input), I have decided to write about when I was little and when I was bullied. I know what ya thinking, how can a girl magnet cool looking guy like me get bullied? Truth is... I was never popular and yes I used to get bullied.ry-SPIRIT DAY3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Thats a picture of me when I was punched by two boys. Im sure bullying happens to EVERYONE, whether you are a jock, emo, geek, gay, straight, tall, short or any other school stereotype you are ALWAYS not safe from bullying. For me personally, I was a polite kid who tries to be nice to everyone, but my kindness has sometimes gone punished, for example in primary school my school friends decided to take advantage of my purity and ignorance and shyness and bully me, mostly to make themselves feel better and for them to have something to laugh about. They would make fun of my loving family too, how I got a mum and dad, cos they are single parented so
Found my Japanese friend missing for 10 yearsOk, Ryght, so, around 10 years ago I had a Japanese friend back in High School. He was over as an exchange student for a few months. When he arRyved, we anime lovers kinda heard the news and wanted to check him out.. cos me and my friends were kinda obsessed with Japanese stuff. Somtimes we would even speak gibberish Japanese to be more cool. So anyway I heard about this Japanese fella called Tomoo, he was a year below us and I really wanted to meet him but had no idea how... I have never made friends with a Japanese person before and was kinda nervous, so I just kinda brushed it off. Then one day.. my friend Ming somehow made friends with him and introduced Tomoo to me. I was shaking.. I was sweating.. I didn't know whether I should shake his hands or high 5 or hug or what... At the end I chose to bow, well thats what Japanese do right? So I bowed, I remember bowing and felt stupid after. IreallyhadnoideahowtogreetpeopleandIstilldon't. Secret to Success: Draw with your balls outHappy new ears my brothers and sisters. I hope you had a good break, but now its time to get back to work! And Ry here has a pro tip for you, something I have kept to myself but I think you as an artist should know about and adapt this habit. Its actually not that complicated, you should just always Draw with your balls out.Secret to Success: Draw with your balls out2 years ago in Personal More Like This
A wise man by the name of John Rambo once told us that we should 'Stay ballsy'. We should not let our fear overtake us, we should dive head in into obstacles and fight the demons without fear and without worries. Well I have taken that approach and incorporated it into my drawing, believe it or not I have never been confident about my artworks, even if it is something I spent 24 hours on I still have doubt whether its good enough to show or not, especially when it is for work and I know I am being judged on.. thats why it always takes so long for me to finish an art piece because I keep looking at it and try to fix stuff that probably no one would ever notic

Introduction about making handmade booksINTRODUCTION ABOUT BASIC TOOLS TO MAKE HANDMADE BOOKSIntroduction about making handmade books2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Today I'd like to share with you some basic tips if you're interested in making handmade books. I've learned how to do that a few terms ago, at the university. As an art restoring adept I've been through the old, traditional ways of making books and added some modern touches to simplify that. I'm going non-professional so far, without expensive equipment, so if you'd like to give books a try you don't have to invest that much
The first and obvious thing that's needed for our book is paper. At that stage you have to decide what kind of book you'd like to make - you need lined or squared paper for notebooks, journals, cookbooks and basically everything that's meant to write in. Sketchbooks and scrapbooks require nice smooth plain paper and photo albums work best with thick and durable paper. Of course those are basics, you can use decorated paper or one suitable for
Lets talk about Mental IllnessHey guys. I wasn't gonna talk about this at all as I usually don't like to be too depressing or heavy with my journal entries, I see my role here on Deviantart as an artist and an escape for some who wants to just have a fun reading my stories and polls or just enjoy looking at some art, so I try to avoid heavier topics like MH 370 or the Gaza war and stuff, Im sure there are already many news about that and my input is probably not neccersary, sure these issues are serious but don't think its my role to talk about it. However, I also think its important to bring awareness to a recent news because it MAY be affecting you directly right now, I am of course talking about the death of Robin Williams, yes like many of you, I was also pretty sad about the loss of Robin Williams, if you don't know who he was then you might be like 'I don't get why anyone is sad about the death of an actor' but trust me Im sure like many people who grew up watching his movies, you feel a certain bond with thiLets talk about Mental Illness9 months ago in Personal More Like This
Reason why I deactivated...(If you don´t like "heart touching" and "sentimental" stuff, you might not like this journal entry. But there´s no reason to not understand me and only find this a silly reason for deactivating anyway. Mind you, feelings are REAL. It´s up to you if you only want to care about my art and status and not human being. )Reason why I deactivated...8 months ago in Personal More Like This
Hi, everyone. First of all I´d like to say sorry for leaving so abruptly. You deserve to know that the reason why I deactivated my account and ignored every other messages and texts, purposely was to restrict ("ground") myself from acting impulsively upon things and stop being anxious and breaking down (I´m more shatterable than you might know...). It also was because I wanted to set a change in things, something I´ve tried to do for almost a whole year, but it always failed… And you know, even though «fleeing» might have seemed wrong, I realize that this really DID make a change in me and others. Therefore, I don´t
