High Pitch and Low Key Contest
I think I've accidentally stepped into a gold mine (or maybe it's just Sleipnir's dung...I guess we'll see!). I mean...in this part of the story we have the chance to make drunken fun of literally every villain (and heroes too...and fangirls and fanboys!!) with Loki and Pitch in the club they are in.
For someone as silly as me this is the epitome of a gold mine! I have tons of idea and I feel like the possibilities are endless (and to make it worse, I've also received many ideas from you guys too... ).
But that's the problem .
This series actually has a plot which is only just beginning and I'm quite eager to get to the next part. (The next story arc is called “A Midwinter Night's Nightmare” and it features a lot of mischief, Thor, Jane and the Guardians, and our two “heores”, of course!)
At the same time I feel bad about not exploiting this “gold mine”, so I was thinking of
~This one amazing fan theory...~Yay! I am popular and you guys value my thoughts on Labyrinth, I feel so BNF-y, yay.~This one amazing fan theory...~3 years ago in Personal More Like This
That's the 5th time these past 24hours I've been sent a link here on dA by people who want me to read that Creepy Alt Interpretation So Deep Wow of Jareth's Sarah fixation in 'Labyrinth', and that's after reading it myself reblogged on each of the three-four Labyrinth tumblrs I have bookmarked anyway (I do not have my own tumblr but I luuurk). There's no missing it! So thanks! But I have to ask y'all to stop now! Also I am a crotchety old lady who remembers copy-pasting her fanfic reads from geocities websites into word documents to read offline back in the days of pay-per-minute dial-up
damn kids tumblring all over mah lawnand there were some mighty clever Labyfic writers way back then already, and Labyrinth is like the 7th most popular movie fandom on good ol' fanfiction-dot-net, seriously, and you think people hadn't already latched onto Hoggle's weird
The Lorax came out two years ago.I mean, dang, two whole years. I'm so happy, I can't beleive we held on for this long. There were some bumps along the way, and this past year we had to deal with a bunch of "the once-ler fandom is dead" crap, but we held on. We made it.The Lorax came out two years ago.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I have an art that I will upload later today, and hopefully I'll be able to watch the movie too. But even of I can't, I'm really happy and giddy. Congrats to the fandom for another awesome year. Let's make the next year even better. :icononcielaplz:
it's also Dr. Seuss' birthday, don't forget about that.
UPDATE: FOR THE ANNIVERSARY, MY PARENTS GOT ME A LORAX
NO THEY GOT ME AN ACTUAL LORAX
THE BLU-RAY COMBO PACK WITH A LORAX PLUSH
THEY GOT IT FOR ME
AND THEY DIDNT EVEN KNOW ABOUT THE ANNIVERSARY
More Strange Meta Moments...So apparently, if the internet and tumblr is to be believed, that "warm kitty, soft kitty" song is a lot older than its appearance on Big Bang Theory. There seems to be a version from a 1990s kid show called Play School.More Strange Meta Moments...3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Which. As many of you may know, had a young actor among its cast members named Philip Quast. Yes, that Philip Quast. And apparently he sang the song.
I know how a strange mental image of Quast!Javert replacing Jareth in 298.
No RD this weekend and some serious talk.Hello little deerlings! No RD this weekend and some serious talk.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
So let's get right to business. I really haven't given RD comic any real update schedule but I wish to update the comic once a week. But that won't happen this weekend. Three reasons:
1. ORAS and Smash WiiU come out here in Europe today and I have both pre-bought.
2. I'll be looking after my brother's dog this weekend.
3. It's my mother's birthday this Sunday and she'll be visiting me.
So, I have a busy weekend which is usually my comic making time. Just a heads up.
But there is another subject I'd like to talk about....
First, I really appreciate it how many of you enjoy my Random Doom series. Especially you guys who take time from your busy and important lives to draw/write/etc me fan works. this means a lot to me and I am eternally grateful. Some of these fan works are even huge projects! Like comics or long going stories! Sometimes these fan works get finishes, sometimes they don't. It's all good and I appreciate the effort and thought.
BUT! Recently it has
A rant of sortsAm I the only one who's getting really irritated at people dissing Frozen just because it's popular?A rant of sorts1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I understand that not everyone will like the movie, but lately I've seen a zillion text posts criticizing it...but the "criticism" is just a one-liner which is completely devoid of logic and ignores literally everything about the film just to say "omg it's more popular than this other movie I like so therefore I must hate it."
"Leik, why is Anna considered a cool femimist princess? Mulan saved a country and Tiana opened up her own restaurant in the 1920s. They were so badass. All Anna ever did was make an annoying line about being gassy omg."
Yeah, cause, that's the only thing Anna did in the entire fricking movie, just make a joke about being gassy. That's all. It's not like she, idk, saved herself, her sister, and her entire kingdom on her own just by being selfless or anything.
Tiana and Mulan are amazing cha
Happy Anniversary!Six years since the first comic posted. I was hoping to have something nice for you guys to celebrate, but my wrists failed me about a month ago, and well. Sorry. They're healing, slowly, but they are healing.Happy Anniversary!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
... Six years is pretty old in web comic years, isn't it?
HiroGoIn a burst of uncharacteristic-ness for me, I’m going to go ahead and defend a popular pairing rather than criticize it.HiroGo9 months ago in Personal More Like This
I know. Crazy, right?
Now, it’s totally normal for popular pairings to be involved in a heated debate. And HiroGo is certainly not the only popular pairing I’m into. (I’m also into Mericcup, New Dream, Kristanna, etc…) The thing is, with all my other pairings and the debates that surround them, the arguments from both sides seem to make sense, and I can see where everyone is coming from.
But of course, there’s always exceptions. I’m sure many of you realize this, but the popularity of a pairing doesn’t determine it’s quality. I’ve ragged on several popular ships in the past (namely Jelsa lol) because I’ve felt that the reasons for shipping them seemed shallow. With HiroGo, it’s the exact opposite: I
HtTYD 2 UpdatesHello all!HtTYD 2 Updates3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I'm assuming it's safe to say we've all seen the sneak peek designs of HtTYD 2, as well as heard about the movie clips shown to a special selection of people. I recently found this post on Tumblr that contains information about those clips.
If you don't want spoilers, do not read below.
Everything happens 5 years after the first movie
Hiccup and Astrid's costumes have changed the most. Astrid now has a furry hood (on top of the redesigns we saw, I assume), and Hiccup has a new weapon called the fire sword
Improvement on software made the clips (and soon the whole movie) look more impressive than the first
There is going to be a new mysterious rider who is either a good guy or the bad poobah of the sequel. The resident new bad guy in town though seems to be a character named Arret who is a dr
Jackunzel vs Jelsa*scans the internet*Jackunzel vs Jelsa2 years ago in Personal More Like This
...Yep I knew this would happen. Saw it coming 5000000000 miles away Fandom has gotten so dang predictable these days.
Now before I start my little rant, I want to take it clear that I don't ship either pairing. I ship Jack with someone else entirely. Who that person is is irrelevant at the moment, but I felt the need to establish that in case some jerk decides to to call me out on bias.
That said: this fan war is literally made of bullshit.
Jelsa shippers: I'm not quite sure what you're trying to prove with your whole "Jackunzel is old, Jelsa is the the new cool thing" argument. Exactly how many people do you think that will convince...? Obviously you have no experience with shipping, because it's not a bunch of fashion trends. Shipping is based entirely on emotion and opinion, so if you think that you will make people change their minds on a ship because your ship is "trendier" then you are sadly mistaken. There's no such thing as an "old-fashioned" s
