About Project Porkchop
The DeviantArt Experience can sometimes quickly become the quintessential example of that most frustrating problem: too much of a good thing. There just aren’t enough hours in the day to peruse the thousands of submissions and postings of artistic innovation, creativity and sheer beauty that are generated everyday.
So thank you for ProjectPorkchop!
Astralseed, an Icelandic deviant artist with a penchant for equines, including Quirlicorns (a breed of unicorns), has made our busy lives so much easier with ProjectPorkchop, a feature she started on her DeviantArt page. Project Porkchop’s fine eye for the best of the newly submitted artworks of virtually unknown artists, the incredible art tha

I'm back with writing my journal tutorials for Photoshop. I didn't post any new journal tutorial in a while Now I also edited journal skin, so it'll be more appropriate for "Photoshop tips" Anyway, my previous tutorial you can check here. I'll describe some Photoshop basics for everyone who try to learn to use Photoshop. So in this article you'll find tutorials: Making selections, Customizing brush, Bevel & Emboss, Stroke. In this tutorial I used my painting Came From Hell, just to show you few things.
If you wish to see images in full resolution then simply click on the images below (they are big as my screen 1920 x 1080 px... OK I cropped bar below ). I used Photoshop CS6 here, so some things may be differ

So you think tracing can't help you learn?Watch me show you that it can.So you think tracing can't help you learn?6 years ago in Personal More Like This
First of all, before reading this, step off of those high horses of yours and open your mind to what I'm saying.
Are you off? Safe and unsaddled? Not tied up in the bridle? Good!
Before I start talking about tracing let me give you a bit of background information on myself. Me? I'm a very arrogant person sometimes. I often believe my way is right and always will be right, even if it's dead wrong. No matter what other people say to me, a lot of the time I have to realize the truth myself before believing it. As for my beliefs on tracing - I never really cared about if other people traced or not. It never got me mad nor did I care to report it on this site because I thought people would just make themselves look stupid doing so.
Recently I have been hating my art furiously (hence the empty gallery) so I sat for a while a couple nights ago and wondered WHY. Why do I feel my art is so amateur, and lacking, and underdeveloped for my age?
I found out
PaintTool SAI in Mac (using VMWare Fusion)[EDITED] It seems this also works for Windows Vista and 7... I have no idea about that, sorry XDUPaintTool SAI in Mac (using VMWare Fusion)4 years ago in Personal More Like This
First of all...
- This is NOT my guide, ok? I just recolected many information by Google and finally made my own conclusions. It may work or not for you, since it seems all depends of the tablet you're using and Macintosh system.
- My Mac is 10.4.11 (quite old, I know, Tiger version) but this method is suppossed to also work for Leopard (10.5 in advance).
- My tablet is a Wacom. You know that Wacom tablets work for both Mac and Windows, so you gotta have a MAC COMPATIBLE TABLET (I'm not sure if Genius or Trust tablets work in Mac so I cannot tell).
- Your Mac must be "clean", I mean, let it have many empty space. The program will work better that way.
- This will allow you to use WINDOWS XP SOFTWARE in your Mac (not Vista or 7).
- Also, forgive my English. I'm trying my best, though, and hope you can understand.
- Be PATIENT. I spent like a whole day to do this (well, gotta add my computer

Mini-Tutorial de como personalizar tu dA.Hola! Hoy decidí hacer un mini-tutorial para aquellas personas nuevas en deviantART o las que simplemente nunca han escuchado que se podía hacer esto. Bueno, Aquí va:Mini-Tutorial de como personalizar tu dA.3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Ej: < strike > OLA KE ASE
Le sacas los espacios y te queda:
OLA KE ASE

The Nintendo Generations
While Atari may have defined a generation of gamers, Nintendo has both ushered in and held the hearts of several generations with their unique combination of affordable consoles and memorable characters. Mario may have been born a supporting character in Donkey Kong, but he has climbed the ladder, or perhaps slid up the pipe, to become not only Nintendo’s mascot, but one of the most recognizable characters across the globe.

Congratulations to the Comics Industry!
Yes, folks, congratulations are in order. For years the comics industry has fought the never ending battle to prove to an uncaring world that comics weren’t just for kids. Thankfully there are now very few one–note heroes left, most of them now being heavily conflicted ‘Anti–Heroes’ who tread the morally gray area b

"Scars can come in handy. I have one myself above my left knee that is a perfect map of the London Underground."—Prof. Albus Dumbledore
Early life becomes an exploration of invisible parameters, circles beyond circles, as one pushes out to test the boundaries of safety. There is one’s bedroom, one’s home, neighborhood, school and town, state and nation. Early on, maps become important documents – declarations of being and rights and privileges. In the art world, throughout history, maps have been a constant measure of human progress, from the Phoenecians recording their trade routes over 2000 years ago, or pre-Columbian times in which map

Lunch Time: The Defining
Dinner of the Day
Our breakfasts and our dinners tend to be exercises in deliberate sameness; a tested and trusted breakfast to get us out the door, our dinners the decompression period to settle after the rigors of another day done.
But lunches have always been different: lunch at home, the brown bag school lunch, the working man’s noon-ish break in the ramshackle break-room and the white-collar “working” lunch in a

his life is not easy; a winding, sometimes whimsical, sometimes tragic journey that ultimately finds terminus in the same common destination for each of us. No matter the brave, fierce constructs we build and serve that would have us believe we are each one of us all alone as we make this journey, we make our way toward the end of all things side-by-side in our community of the living each day defying death. Our paths may be wildly divergent—the way of the hungry and impoverished traveling the same timeline with the grotesquely indulgent, the very best of us side-by-side with the most evil of us; but all headed for the same fate: dust. how did I get into comics?i have got to be the worst person to ask "how did you get in the industry."how did I get into comics?3 years ago in Personal More Like This
i got lucky.
i was tattooing and went to sdcc 06, showing up without a badge on the very last year they sold on site badges. had packets/samples of work, showed them around, met contacts (and blond) and got a test job based on my samples and contacts. passed the test job (failed one too...shhhh) and the rest really is history. in the first couple years i went to as many conventions as i could pay to go to, always paying. but i met everybody. thats important. and never stopped working.
that initial break is what most people are looking for, because when they ask me how i got in, they are looking for answers. and me saying i got lucky, it's always having to let somebody down.
sure i can tell you how most people get in, but you should ask them instead
So tired of not achieving what you want?So tired of not achieving what you want?So tired of not achieving what you want?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Everyone has something they really want dearly, a career, to have a certain loved one, to be able to make certain things...
The most common one among us artist are:
- I want to be able to draw better
- I want to be able to draw like "this"person.
- I want to earn money with my drawing.
- I want to be able to draw what I imagine in my head.
- I want more people to appreciate my art.
- I want more feedback from artists I admire.
- I want more..
- I want better....
All this wanting.. dreaming of... hoping for.
How about doing it!! With these sort of "wants", it's a matter of DOING IT!
How? You ask?
There are many ways, but the usual and only answers to those desires are:
- Spend the most time you have on drawing/painting.
- Go and ask people for help, it is okay to do so!
- Look at that amazing artwork and try and figure out how this person made it, perhaps he/she will tell you? Perhaps this person has made a video or tutoria
