Okay, closed topic about The Baka Lamar (oh, in Malay, 'Lamar' meaning applying). Don't spoiled my mood to share new Otome Drama CD! Yeah! Back to the topic about Yandere..., I had found one Otome Drama CD related with this word...that is...
Yandere Heaven is a series in which you (the listener) become the object of affection of two rather dangerous characters. In the beginning things seem ok, but then their love becomes obsessive. I already listen the first volume...
Ramblings about 'internet fame'A lot of stuff has happened lately in life lately, and is has made me think about things, and about my perspective on it. One of those things, is the internet.Ramblings about 'internet fame'6 months ago in Personal More Like This
As some of you know, I'm a huge nerd. While as kid, I didn't had a computer at home, and I hated those damn machines because I wasn't able to work with them at all (so much fail T__T), I soon caught up when I got my first computer at age 14. And while most of my family expected me to end up as a hopeless internet addict, I soon started to learn myself how to program. The rest is history. With my 26th birthday, I also celebrated being a webprogrammer for 10 years already. Oh yeah, I'm getting old for sure.
The recent chain of events have caused me to think about the internet and it's role in life, however. When I first started out with art, I was only a little girl. Me, and both of my younger sisters, were all very creative. And we spend almost all of our time drawing at the kitchen table, while discussing about the characters we
5 Comic Book Truths (that I don't think are true)There are lots of tips, chestnuts, and other pieces of advice that I've heard over the years--tidbits of wisdom passed on from one generation to the next, from professional to professor to prospective student. Some of them are drawing tips, some of them are tricks to dealing with publishers, and some are general guidelines on how to survive in comics. Most of them are useful and true and will stand the test of time, but a few of them have become hackneyed platitudes and have gone unquestioned for too long. Here are 5 that I'm questioning...5 Comic Book Truths (that I don't think are true)2 months ago in Personal More Like This
1. READERS WILL ONLY LOOK AT A PANEL FOR 5 SECONDS, SO DON'T SWEAT IT TOO MUCH.
I understand the intention of this bit of wisdom, and I mostly agree with it: drawing great interiors is important, but at the same time, you don't want to get bogged down with small details that most readers won't even notice.
But here's my concern with this: if you treat every panel like it's disposable, then you're less likely to make an impact with reader
Ze French ConnectionJan 19 - 2014, on a Sunday, while wandering aimlessly on the streets of Deira in Dubai, I noticed a crowd - and rather noisy one at that - had gathered on 9-A Street.Ze French Connection2 months ago in Personal More Like This
Now one wouldn't normally expect any kind of commotion coming from that area in particular, considering that this is where the Naif Police Station is located; so naturally I was intrigued enough to get off my usual route and investigate.
A group of French street performers had gathered at the entrance to the police station and decided to put on a little show.
I'm not entirely sure as to why the street performers were there in the first place, but they appeared to be waiting for something.
The two men and the woman in the center (part of the troupe management) were having a heated discussion.
My initial guess at the time was that the mini show may be in relation to the 'Dubai Shop
4 Kinds of StorytellingHere's an old journal from 2010 about storytelling. Because I have a lot more readers these days, I think I'm going to start reposting some of my earlier posts for my newer audience. So for you old timers, feel free to skip.4 Kinds of Storytelling9 months ago in Personal More Like This
In full disclosure, I slightly edited this journal to make it a little more balanced (while also fixing a ton of typos).
I feel like the word "storytelling" gets thrown around a lot in our industry. Yet when I look out there at some comics, I don't always see a lot of evidence for it.
It feels like people in comics pros--myself included--often use the word only because we feel like we're supposed to. Over the years enough professionals have been accused of being poor storytellers to the degree that everyone is now afraid of being a pinup artist as opposed to a bona fide storyteller. But it's not enough just to claim you're a storyteller.
Most people reading this probably h
Behind the pretty faceI had such a pretty face.Behind the pretty face1 month ago in Personal More Like This
Or at least, that was what they told me when I posted my picture.
I have to admit that I rarely post my face online. Not so much for privacy's sake (I don't have the illusion of privacy, with the NSA around) but more because I've never liked taking pictures pictures. Back in the time, I was probably one of the few young girls that wasn't fond on making selfies, and therefore often had ID's showing either my back, my drawing equipment, or just a drawn image of me. The reason I posted a picture, was because it was for a good cause. An issue that I wanted to raise awareness for myself. The many people that had already posted their real pictures, encouraged me as well. That internet isn't all about faking who you are, but about the 'real' you as well. No matter who you are. Boy or girl, pretty or ugly.
I was laying in my bed already as

Do it for yourself"Do something interesting, something challenging, and something that no one else can do."Do it for yourself2 months ago in Personal More Like This
This is what one of my professors told the graduate and undergraduate engineering students. I take that to heart when it comes to writing. Down the road, I'm sure I'll invest those same principles in my occupation.
The point is, if you already enjoy writing, don't just stay in your comfort zone. Think outside of the box or make your own box to think in. Don't be afraid to experiment with different concepts and ideas. I didn't get to where I was by playing it safe and going with the flow of everything I write. I do something different each time, and I always ask myself, "What makes me different?"
Floating circuses, oceans of sand, cities ruled by casinos, kingdoms of bird-inspired humans, and Eliatha weren't created by copying everyone else and trying to change things up a little to call themselves different. I had to break out of the bubble and come up with something that no one else could.

Tumblr, cyberbullying, and a cautionary word.Starting Friday night, I attracted the attention of SJWs on Tumblr.Tumblr, cyberbullying, and a cautionary word.1 month ago in Personal More Like This
From Urban Dictionary:
Social Justice Warrior. A pejorative term for an individual who repeatedly and vehemently engages in arguments on social justice on the Internet, often in a shallow or not well-thought-out way, for the purpose of raising their own personal reputation. A social justice warrior, or SJW, does not necessarily strongly believe all that they say, or even care about the groups they are fighting on behalf of. They typically repeat points from whoever is the most popular blogger or commenter of the moment, hoping that they will "get SJ points" and become popular in return. They are very sure to adopt stances that are "correct" in their social circle.
The SJW's favorite activity of all is to dogpile. Their favorite websites to frequent are Livejournal and Tumblr. They do not have relev

orld War I (1914-1918) was a human catastrophe that devastated Western civilization and mocked the hope inherent in “modernism”. The sheer volume of the war’s slaughter was beyond belief. The horror of it all destroyed the trust in science, medicine and technology as the golden gateway to a harmonious and peaceful future for humanity. All that was thought to be good had been twisted to the evil purpose of a global war. A global sense of hopefulness was replaced with a global sense of fear and loathing.

DeviantART is a bustling and active community, and with the high volume of artwork submitted on any given day, it can be easy to miss something. In fact, it's common for artwork to go viral across the Web or get a spike of traffic days, months, or even years after it was originally submitted.
Our new “What’s Hot” browse mode surfaces artwork that’s receiving a recent increase in exposure, regardless of when it was submitted.
A New Way To Surface Artwork
We often see artwork gain a lot of attention across the Web (after being shared on blogs, social sites, etc.), but by the time this recognition occurs, our search engines don't consider it when displaying recently "Popular" deviations. The new "What’s Hot" mode is built to celebrate these surges of exposure.
What's Hot vs. Popular
