Elsa and Jack: A tale of two Winters
A tale of Two Winters
"More water, more water!" Edger cried as he cradled their baby jack. "he's burning up!"
His wife Gertrude rushed what water wasn't frozen in a pot to her husband who quickly plunged the rag into it and placed it on their toddlers head.
Gertrude gripped her swollen belly getting her balance after rushing over. Edger looked helplessly from his twin children, to his pregnant wife.
"Darling!" he cried.
"I'm fine dear...I'm fine.." Gertrude said regaining her balance.
Their little baby Jack coughed, squirmed then calmed again. "Thank goodness..." he breathed out.
"Is he breathing better...?" his wife asked.
Edger walked Jack across the wooden floor of their cabin to the crib he had carved himself.
"He's smiling..." he said breathing a sigh of relief.
"Did we wake Elsa?" Gertrude asked.
Edger peeped into the crib to see their twin daughter yawning to herself, with a discontented sleeping face.
"No...she's just dreaming." he said as he

A Tale of Two Winters
Lightning flashed in the distance, across the sea from Arrendelle. Far away enough that no one from the shore would notice it on the horizon.
The storm that was too far gone to reach the mainland suddenly spewed a dark swirling mass, moving at a rapid pace towards the coast.
Black bits of it fell off into the sea as it passed over it, like soot, till it finally went on through the forests.
As it passed by, birds that sang stopped, a wolf that was merely scratching itself suddenly snarled at the scent of a human. Finally the shadow stopped in the midst of the trees where only a little bit of light shone through.
It had been nearly 16 years since the birth of those solstice born children...16 years that Pitch had had to plot as to how to use them...he was still busying himself delivering fear and darkness to various parts of the world but his mind had ever been on how to utilize their unique situation. Something about their power.

A Tale of Two Winters

The King and Queen slept in their massive bed in their chambers. Unsure of how they managed it, but sleep had finally come to them...though it was not a welcome occurrence.

a GASP went off in their mind "How could you think such a thing!? Don't you love her...what kind of parents are you...."
It made the King and Queen both toss in their sleep....as a grinning...billowing shadow was cast on their bed side.
Suddenly the hand of the shadow began stroking the queens face, making her shrink back into her husband.
"What kind of mother are you anyway...? Look at those eyes....look at how she wants to be safe...but do you care? No..."
the voice which sounded so much like the

A Tale of Two Winters
Jessica finished sewing her mothers shawl....the designs were just the way she had remembered them being when they were carved on her walls as a small girl.
She looked out the window birds sang, and bugs chirped merrily, summer had arrived in Arrendelle, and the whole world seemed to be a row with joy cause of it. And why wouldn't it be? The best times happened in Summer.
Summer was when school was on a sabbatical, it was when you could go exploring or do what ever it was you wanted to do the rest of the previous year, but for Jessica, it just meant the time of year that Arrendelle was thawing. No more Snow. No more reminders...
There was a knock on her door, she stood up from her chair, "Who is it?"
"It's Saint Nicolas, who do you think? It's Kristof!" came a gruff voice.
She rolled her eyes and opened the door to see the same, huge figure of Kristoff on the porch.
"Do you have the carrots?" He said the moment the door was open.

Jack landed softly on the snow-covered ground. He had been flying around exploring the world when he had spotted something in the mountains.
A girl was walking lonely in the darkness with a red cape dragging behind her. Jack felt like something was pulling him toward her. He knew she could not see so he decided to follow her for a bit. She was walking slowly with the wind against her slowly climbing up the mountain.
There was something about her; it looked like she was broken as if she had lost everything.
Suddenly she started to sing, her clear voice filled the cold empty air.
Jack felt like someone just had hit him in the stomach. The song was full with sadness, he wanted to put his arms around her hold her and comfort her.
But just as it sounded like the girl was going to break down she raised her voice and the song got a different tone.
She threw up her glove and ice sparkle from her hands. Jack took a deep breath; she had the same power as him. He wa

The memory of those words echoed in my mind, cutting like ice.
Jack had left a few moments ago and overflew the zone, searching for Anna. I still held onto the small but vital hope that she would appear by Arendel's doors at any moment and therefore wandered in circles waiting for her, blinded by the thick mist that I, myself, created.
I suddenly distinguished a dark silhouette coming towards me. My heart missed a beat. “Anna”, I thought. But I soon discovered that it was not her at all. It was too late by then.
“Elsa! You can no longer escape from this!”
I abandoned my futile attempt to escape, and pleaded, “Simply take care of my sister.”
I perfectly understood why Hans was looking for me, why he had imprisoned me. Well, actually, no, I couldn’t understand it. His duty was to kill me, for Arendel’s sake. For Anna’s sake, even. For his own sake. But he had preferred

Suddenly, I sensed how the energy ceased to flow in me. My powers withdrew as a thought crossed my mind, “What have I done?”
I looked around me. Not only was I surrounded by an ice castle, but it was falling apart… and I had cornered two men who had only been fighting for their lives. I had been about to kill people.
I violently withdrew my hands, afraid. I hoped that, by hiding them, my magic would disappear or, at least, lose strength. But, of course, that didn’t happen. Somehow, there was no way for me to separate myself from it. We were one. I had been born with it. I couldn’t even tell if my magic came from a specific place. If there was any logical explanation for it, it had died out with my parents. I trembled in fear. In solitude. I had lost everything. Everything. My parents, my sister, my kingdom, and now, even myself…
Paralyzed as I was, I hadn
