A noggin-nibbler.This is something that's been nibbling at my noggin for awhile, and the final tolerance-feather was finally plucked today when a rude comment was addressed to a close friend of mine.A noggin-nibbler.4 years ago in Personal More Like This
For a rather long time now, there have been massive complaints against doll and base-makers. Accusations, saying that base/doll creators can't actually draw anything on their own, and that they're simply unoriginal, creativity-lacking tracers.
You know what, though? If these makers/dollers weren't as popular as they were, you wouldn't give them a second glance. You wouldn't give a flying pickle, and you know it. You'd go about your business and wouldn't even half-bat an eyelash. I have several good friends who are WONDERFUL artists, both in AND out of dolling/base-making. Working with bases also helps curve one's proportion accuracy, as well. Personally, I rarely use them, but I can safely say that I've learned a thing or two from when I have used them.
It just really eats me up to see people ca
Gajeel x Levy fanficThe Best Ship Is... Partnership?Gajeel x Levy fanfic5 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
It was slowly settling in Levy's mind. Her being chosen for the S-class exams had been shocking enough. But the fact that Gajeel - Gajeel - had offered to be her partner for the duration of the exams had almost blown her mind. She was grateful because it had raised her chances exponentially and also solved the dilemma of choosing between Jet and Droy. But...
There was always some but.
Gajeel was, simply put, an insufferable slave driver.
"We've got only one week to get you in better shape. Stamina is the most important thing here. You need to be able to keep up with me."
"But-" Levy tried to protest as he continued walking to the Eastern Park, a favourite place for people who liked to run. She was still rubbing her eyes, trying to wake up properly. It was shortly after the dawn and she should still be in her warm bed, not trying to keep up with the Iron Dragon Slayer's long strides.
"No buts," he interrupted her. "I told you I'm going to h

As in please read it, don't skim it, it's got such great information on both how to become a better artist and how to treat other artists.
TL;DR: Saying "I wish I was as good as you" or "I'll never be as good as you" or something similar is not a compliment. It's a personal lament and many artists can do without it. Thanks.
Rant: KHR Fandom shorthandsAlright, this is something that many fans of the series 'Katekyo Hitman Reborn!' can agree on: Fandom shorthands are cool, handy and fun. Yes, they are really: They make it easy for us to shorten up our favorite pairings and getting to know them all out of your head is a real achievement too. Nice for fans who really want to nerd out, so to say!Rant: KHR Fandom shorthands4 years ago in Personal More Like This
It irks me a lot when people do not quite UNDERSTAND how these certain shorthands are chosen, especially the numerical ones. (the letters and abbreviated names should be understood with ease, if not, please just leave- )
Just an explanation for those who didn't know this yet:
The fandom shorthands are chosen by the sound of the numbers, these can be either Japanese, Chinese (though this is the case by few, Ken is a partial example.) and sometimes Engrish (Take Tsuna as another partial example.) Yuni is a very special case though; Her shorthand is 01 because in Latin, the number 1 is really pronounced a
