Art Imitates Life Imitates Art Imitates Life...Star Trek: The Seekers was a series of faux book covers I did for a faux Star Trek spin off, set in an alternate universe where NBC execs had better sense than to pull the plug on the original show after the third season. I did the Seekers covers because I had so much fun doing revisions of all the Blish novels and wasn't quite ready to stop playing with the idea. So there they are…books one through five. If only they could be real…Art Imitates Life Imitates Art Imitates Life...1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Apparently the writing team behind the landmark Star Trek: Vanguard series saw them and had the same wish… only they had a few more strings that they could pull (and talent to push) to make it happen. And next year it will! Apparently the writing team saw my covers when they were fishing around for new project ideas and it clicked with them – both the cover format and the general series tone/concept. Please check it out and share the link to spread the word! The Etsur team and I have worked super hard on it for the past few months!
I would love your feedback and thoughts on the site! And please bookmark the site because from here on, any and all updates will be collected on YayaHan.com and so much better organized than Facebook.
I absolutely love and appreciate Facebook and other social media outlets, but they can't really support the vast portfolio I have. It's always been very important to me to have a website, and I have had a corner on the web since 2000. It's been difficult to not have a working, easy to update website for the past several months, so I'm so very very thrilled and excited to share the new, improved YayaHan.com with you guys.

Month 2 update and 3000 watchers!!!! :)Hello friends!Month 2 update and 3000 watchers!!!! :)2 years ago in Personal More Like This
First things first is that i want to thank all the friends here on DA for making my page so popular. At 2 months I have 3000 followers and some of my pictures have made it to the popular sections. And I just very much appreciate everybody for making that come true. I could not have done it without each and every one of you. My next goal is a daily deviation! So I am just trying to figure out how to submit my work to get one, but there has been no clear direction on how to do it yet that I have found. If anybody here can recommend a way to do it please do so!
Also another topic I would like to address is that for the past month I have been about roughly five days away from answering messages and comments and notes posted and sent to me. Please be patient and I will get to each and everyone of you I love to talk with all of my DA friends here. And for the donation pool, point will be returned within 24 hours. As of t

STAR TREK CALENDAR UPDATE...Ladies and Gentleman.STAR TREK CALENDAR UPDATE...2 months ago in Personal More Like This
Before, i continue with the Christmas Gift program, i would like to address a small issue one which some may not be too familiar with. It all started back in 2013, it was coming close to the end of the year. I was still new in 3D, learning how it worked. Plus that got me thinking, on a project that i wanted to try. I've being a fan of Star Trek "Ships of the line" Calendar for sometime (Collecting them) seeing the new 3D pictures for the year.
That got me thinking if i could do a fan calendar for 2014, so i decided to look into it. I decided that i would be doing all the pictures, dates and plus importantly credit (trust me you will hear a lot about it)
This is the advert for the calendar
This was done back in October 12 2013.
This was just the advert, now i had to get permission from all the people that i was going to make this calendar up. I decided when i did the Calendar that it was not to be a competition it was going
I really like how Blender sculpturing worksI really like how Blender sculpturing works8 months ago in Art Features More Like This
I made this Anatomically Impossible Devilish Bird-feeder Slash (/) Flower-Pot From Hell statue without any planning in Blender. I just improvised all of it.
I used multires modifier on the default cube and this happened by sculpturing in 1 hour + 10 min of material setup / texturing + 1 hour of rendering in Cycles with 500 samples.
I think I should play more with sculpturing, because this one surprised me how good it turned out. I know this is far from the level called "professional" this is just a doodle compared to what real artist capable of, but I feel like I am getting better in this. And that is a good feeling.
Oh and I am very happy with this material.
This is why you (and your art) get ignored.People often get the sense of being ignored in the art-scene, especially here online. We all try so hard to get our foot in the door, it's like trying to stuff yourself in an overfull bus like a sardine in a can. This is why you (and your art) get ignored.8 months ago in Personal More Like This
Sometimes you just want to socialize with other artists you admire and you seem to be talking into a brick wall or perhaps you've send your portfolio to a company over a dozen times and still don't even seem to get the smallest response or feedback. I will try and tell you WHY you get ignored and HOW you can get noticed instead.
I will go through the following cases of being ignored:
Do know, that even though being ignored feels very personal it's hardly ever personal at all!
Your comment(s) gets ignored.
It happens ever so often. You notice an artwork or a discussion and you weigh in with your opinion or admiration, perhaps even some feedback? T
If you want to do art...Then DO it already!I've been asked by a lot of aspiring artists how I got into 3d and game art in general. So, I've decided to share my experience and what I've learned to hopefully give you guys some good advice. If you want to do art...Then DO it already!4 years ago in Personal More Like This
First off, I've always been a fan of video games. I used to go to my neighbors house and play Super Mario Land and Tetris on their Gameboy then go home to play more on my SNES. As I got older, the game that really stuck to me was Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I loved everything about it, and it's what really got me to draw.
I went to a small community college in fall 2008 to start a degree in Graphic Design. In high school I went through a big phase of designing icons for Live Journal and my parents convinced me it would be the safest route for a career. By the end of the first semester, I had been with my boyfriend Cody for a few months and observed what he did in his 3D Animation major. Since I loved games, I decided it would make a more enjoyable career path. I switched majors and

Oh no, I've been tagged So, last week :iconabdoubouam: tagged me. I just remembered to do the whole tag thing now. So, now's your chance to GTFO while you still can! Seriously, this is going to be really weird. Oh well, here we go.Oh no, I've been tagged2 months ago in Personal More Like This
1) You must post these rules.
2) Each person has to share 10 facts about themselves.
3) Answer the 10 questions asked by the person who tagged you and make up 10 questions for the 10 you tag.
4) Choose 10 people and put their icons in your journal.
5) Go to their page and inform them that they have been tagged by you.
6) Not something like "You are tagged if you read that".
7) You have to legitimately tag 10 people.
8) No tag-backs.
9) You can't say that you don't do tags.
10) You have the choice to make a journal entry! Comments if you prefer!
10 totally awesome not boring fun facts about me:
1) I'm weird.
2) Sometimes I can't remember things properly.
3) I like computers.
4) I started drooling when I got my GTX 760.
I MUST BE A FIGHTERI can't kept, what is going on DA. Certain people must remember they can't have things go there way all the time. As a channel who has risen to the occasion many times by bring animation, and representing 3D it's time to go that extra mile remind everyone that this channel will go down fighting and will never be silent.I MUST BE A FIGHTER6 months ago in Personal More Like This
One day i'll do something that the public will like and when that day comes, everyone who has treated me wrong will be silent.
I'm thinking about changing to studio render styleYes guys. I decided I'm going to change my style of rendering 3D models to the style of "Studio render". Why you ask? Because I think that the light, which they use in "studio renderings" is a bit more realistic than the light I use. And I'm now with an addiction to see "studio renderings", so expect to see more renderings of Sonic in this style of renderings. If you didn't realize what a "studio render" is, here is an example: http://www.trk-design.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/studio_audi_07.jpgI'm thinking about changing to studio render style3 months ago in Personal More Like This
