Gru turned and looked over his should in time to see Edith holding Dr. Nefarios' latest weapon design. It was small, but it had enough power to blast a hole through the wall. His heart dropped as her fingers pressed down on the trigger.
"No, no, no, no! Don' touch..."
He didn't get a chance to finish before a loud explosion filled the room, knocking both him and Edith off their feet. He wasn't sure how, but he had managed to catch the blond girl before she made contact with the opposite wall, unfortunately for him he wasn't as lucky. His back hit the wall, and it snapped his head back causing it to snap back.
Coughing, Edith slightly opened her eyes. The lab was a mess, the counter was knocked into the wall, all kinds of weapons were scattered on the floor. Some of the lights had fizzled out and now there was a huge gapping hole in the wall. Minions that had been in the room were also kno

Not wanting her to feel left out, Gru eyed Margo, who then handed her the silverware. "You tink you can bring dat to de table without dropping it on de floor?"

Summary: Gru attempts to fill his role as a father while the girls settle into their permanent family. However, with a Super Villain father and three girls with wildly independent spirits, no task is simple and no day is boring. Chapter 4: Gru is forced to chaperon Agnes's school field trip to the Zoo.
Finally this is out! There are many reasons why this took so long, which I'll explain afterwards. I swore to myself that I would never make a chapter as long as chapter 2. This wasn't quite as long, but it was getting very close. I even made an outline for this! An outline! I've never done that for a story, I barely do it for essays. I usually just write, but this chapter would have been all over the place had I done that.
I want to thank Beachcat for being the beta for this story. She really did an amazing job!
So, here you go. I really hope you enjoy it.

Many things do, in fact. They rarely make the headlines, as it were, in lieu of certain reports to the proverbial higher-ups (or lower-downs, as the case may be) and are not usually something you'd receive a commendation for.* Nevertheless, you eventually tended to notice that a great many occurrences had a kitten or cat or some other member of the feline subfamily somewhere along their chain of causality.
And so this, as well, started with a kitten.
This particular kitten, a fluffy ginger, had launched itself across the road at a most inopportune moment, and would quickly have become a kitten-shaped splat if Crowley hadn't swerved dramatically, taking the car off the road and into an ornamental pond in the process. The demon shrieked a profanity. His passenger made an 'eep' sound.
As it turned out, the pond was just deep enough for the Bentley to become comfortably submerged in the wake of a melodious glunking and a set of bubbles.
