27Shoot, its that time of the year again where for unknown reasons random people start saying 'Happy Birthday' to me. Yes it is true, I am another year closer to death (Ry is really optimistic sometimes isnt he?). WELL its all good, I mean I just wanna take a minute to thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday, today has been quite pleasant actually. Received many gifts from fellow Ryceballs, some nice messages, and I did a little Livestream that I think people quite enjoyed and had a good laugh. All going well so far. So yes, 27 years down, what a life! Well since today is my special day, I have decided to take you guys for a ride in the Life of Ry journey, what was Ry doing 5 years ago? 10 years ago? 20 years ago?! Lets start from the year I was born.271 year ago in Personal More Like This
1986: Ry came out of his mother's womb with crayon in his hands.
1987: Ry's first word was "RYYYYYYYYYRYYYY!!" In fact thats all he could say the whole year.

Back from RysolationDear Ryceballs. I have returned. It was a short hiatus, but it was a necessary one. I traveled miles and miles on foot into the Indian Desert by myself, in hope that I would be able to find my missing soul, cos thats what people do when they wanna find their soul right? They always go to India. I called it my 'rysolation period'. So I was out soul searching. On my journey, people has been encouraging to me, giving me kind words and needed motivational speeches, I thank you, you know who you are. I think I am more collected and positive now. Yeah I think I am back. Oh also on my soul search I have had time to work out some 'things'. So yeah look forward to more 'things' from me in the future. The desert was hot as hell by the way, don't really recommend it, what my soul was doing there is beyond me.Back from Rysolation2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Ok thats it for now.
A RetrospectiveHello Ryceballs! So I was looking through my god awful gallery the other day and had a nostalgic moment when I saw some of my old artworks, I am happy to say that I have improved over the 5 years stay here on Deviantart (Thank god...). So I just want to show you a few of my earlier artworks and talk a little about the story behind each one of them. I must admit that the early artworks you see on this list is not REALLY the first few artworks I uploaded on Deviantart, but I have since got rid of my even older ones because I really really dislike them, I don't want you guys to vomit blood ok. If you guys REALLY want to see the ones I have deleted.. I guess I can dig into the abyss of my old computer and find it. Anyways here goes!A Retrospective2 years ago in Personal More Like This

Alleyway IncidentHiya Ryceballs. I left out something on my previous journal, something I kinda wanted to talk about but was a bit scared to... But I have decided that maybe its better to get it off my chest. This is a true story and it happened two weeks ago while I was in Melbourne for Armageddon Expo, it was a sunday night, I had a long day selling artworks and I was back in the hotel room chilling, at around 10pm I got hungry and realised I don't have much to eat, I didn't wanna call room service because I wasn't sure if food is still available that late. So knowing the 24/7 grocery store is just a block away, I decided to head out to buy a cup noodle or something. It was pretty dark outside with a bit of rain as well, much to my annoyance, but I was really really hungry. Now the proper way to get to the grocery store is to walk around the block, OR I can take a shortcut and go through the alleyway.... I tend to always walk around the block as I didn't wanna get mugged, if Batman has taught me anytAlleyway Incident2 years ago in Personal More Like This

Secret to Success: Draw with your balls outHappy new ears my brothers and sisters. I hope you had a good break, but now its time to get back to work! And Ry here has a pro tip for you, something I have kept to myself but I think you as an artist should know about and adapt this habit. Its actually not that complicated, you should just always Draw with your balls out.Secret to Success: Draw with your balls out2 years ago in Personal More Like This
A wise man by the name of John Rambo once told us that we should 'Stay ballsy'. We should not let our fear overtake us, we should dive head in into obstacles and fight the demons without fear and without worries. Well I have taken that approach and incorporated it into my drawing, believe it or not I have never been confident about my artworks, even if it is something I spent 24 hours on I still have doubt whether its good enough to show or not, especially when it is for work and I know I am being judged on.. thats why it always takes so long for me to finish an art piece because I keep looking at it and try to fix stuff that probably no one would ever notic
Difference between selling Art and selling MeatGreetings Ryceballs. Today I am gonna be talking about the differences between selling art and selling meat.Difference between selling Art and selling Meat2 years ago in Personal More Like This
It is absolutely fascinating how different the two can be! :iconyoudontsayplz: ... Well first of all, an artist likes their work to be appreciated and let the audience see for themselves whether they want to buy their artwork or not. While a butcher (ESPECIALLY ASIAN ONES LIKE THE ONE IN THE ARTWORK) only cares about selling the meat and making the profit, they have no sentimental feelings towards what they are selling, because if they do then there won't be any meat to sell right? One of the main rule of a butcher is to have no emotional attachment towards the animals, because they know sooner or later the animal needs to be chopped up. Well what about artists? Well they put their blood, sweat and tears into their artwork to make it as pretty as possible, all in hopes that the audiences would enjoy their art as much as the artist enjoy making them. NOW here's the thing thoug

PS4 vs Xbox One who wins?If you like videogames like me, chances are you have been aware of what's happening in E3. Everyone's talking about it now. Since a few weeks ago with the whole TV TV TV TV TV TV TV SPORTS SPORTS SPORTS SPORTS Xbox conference I have been pretty unhappy with things that are going on with Microsoft. You can't play used games, you need to log in to your internet at least once a day to play games, and it feels like you are actually RENTING a game rather than owning it if you know what I mean. OK then at E3 today they announce the price for the Xbox One.. wait for it. $499 USD. Mmmmk alright, I kinda expected it to be expensive.. but here's the part that surprised EVERYBODY, it costs 429 Pounds and 499 Euros. Wait a minute what? So I quickly pulled out my little pink calculator and found out that for the UK thats equivalent of $666 USD (Interesting its also the number for Satan) and 662 USD for the Europeans. Yo WHAT THE HELL? Why do the people at europe hPS4 vs Xbox One who wins?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Skipping School for VideogamesHi there Ryceballs, its story time again. So come over and sit on papa Ry's lap, this will be fun. Now before I begin I just gota say.... kids DO NOT skip school, get those grades cos you'll need them in the future! My grades at school were terrible, for good reasons too.. like this whole truanting deal for one. Im REALLY lucky that I am still alive today I swear. SO DON'T FOLLOW WHAT I DID, Im bad influence ok. You know, the cool kids would skip school to bring their hot girlfriend home for some hardcore snogging. While kids like me would skip school, then go home to spend time rescuing Princess Zelda. My parents were really strict though, I was only allowed to play my 64 on the weekend and only an hour per weekday, I always wondered if they were actually Ganondorf's minions. Yo the princess needs to be saved wat r u doing?! What wins is that I liv

I can honestly say that I grew up with this community and everyone here has taught me so much, and not just about art, but also on how to be a person. When I first got this account at the age of 12, I could have never imagined how much it has shaped my life and career. It sounds cliche but I probably wouldn't have became an artist if it hadn't been for everyone here on deviantART. Through all of the ups and downs in life, the community has always been the support and inspiration that kept me going.
I hope to give back as much as everyone has given me. I will continue to create more comics, tutorials and art in the future. I will never stop, and I have you all to thank for that.
So truly, thank you!

So.. about this Ry X fellaHave you ever felt like someone is trying to steal your identity? Well, I always knew there's another Ry out there. I always try to ignore him and hope that one day he will simply disappear making me the only Ry on earth, there's only room for one Ry and I would very much like it to be me. I alternate between a small Wacom Bamboo and a Cintiq. There are pros and cons for both of them, Bamboo is great for travelling with and drawing in bed while a Cintiq is a lot more work to set up but it makes drawing much faster because you are looking directly at the scr

Part of me wants to do this, large part of me is holding me back. Ok ok this is whats going on. I wanna attend Anime Central in Chicago next year in May... i really really wanna go to the US to attend a convention and sell artworks there, I haven't been to the US since I was 5 years old (PAPA RY MAMA RY. WHATS THE POINT OF BRINGING ME TO THE US WHEN I CANT REMEMBER ANYTHING ABOUT IT). So yes.. anyway there's a competition where you can submit a drawing of their mascot and if you win you get an artist table there. I heard that getting an artist table in America is hard because there's a lot of competition and lots of people wanting a table.. so this would be perfect for me if i do win. T
Favorite Journal Entries that you may have missedHiya Ryceballs. You know, other than drawings and putting up polls about showers, there's one other thing that I love doing on Deviantart, and that is writing journals! I love writing stuff, sharing my thoughts, sharing stories, ranting about stuff, making fun of stuff, doing top 10s. And I have been told that people likes reading it, that definately puts a smile on my beautiful face. But but but but butt I do know that some of you are new to my Deviantart! And maybe some of you just missed some journals, in total I have over 400 journal entries so far so I wouldn't blame ya for missing them! SOOO I have decided to pick some journals of mine that I like and share it with you guys once again. This may be nostalgic for those who followed me since day 1, and something refreshing for those who has never read them before. Went Undercover as a Student at a UniversitySorry for lack of updates, I have been away for a bit. But now I am back to tell more stories and upload more art. Anyway. Sometimes Ry can be a troll (Just sometimes). And I did exactly that last week actually. I pulled off a 21 Jump Street. Right, so I was in Melbourne for a convention and I also stayed longer for a few days to hang out with friends. The night before convention, my friend Alice (Who is a core member of the Japan Club) invited me to visit her University at RMIT for a Japanese movie night as part of her Japan Club's activity. At first I was a bit unsure whether I should go or not since I am not a member of the club or the Uni. But I do like to watch Japanese movies, so I went! :iconmingplz:Went Undercover as a Student at a University1 year ago in Personal More Like This

I might as well begin with an apology for a journal I posted half a year ago back in December 2012 about the misleading fun and joy I had with the Wii U. I say misleading because at the time yes I was having lots of fun with games like New Super Mario Brothers Wii U and Scribblenauts Unlimited and Nintendoland. And sure! They were great fun, I mean those are games that I have finished already (after like a month, cos its so freakin easy! Difficulty level where did you go) but I might still one day go back to it and replay it from the beginning just for fun's sake, but then now what..? Its mid May 2013 and there hasn't been any new games that ain't either cross platform or ones I ain't interested in. And trust me if the Wii U game is cross platform I would definately get the PS3 or 360 version because 1) The controller's more comf
Symbol(s) for the non Premium DeviantsHello my Ryceballs. So eversince DA's recent symbol changes, I have been hearing a lot of complaints. Mostly about how regular non premium members don't even get a symbol. It makes them feel like they are not important. Its ok I hear ya I hear ya. And you know me, I am all about the people. Ry-Spirit cares. So I thought about this a lot and try to think of an appropriate symbol that best suits our non premium friends, at the end I came up with a symbol... WELL I say a symbol but its more like a string of symbols. I feel like this is the only option for it to work. And I have used myself as an example of what the symbols would look like if I am in fact a regular deviant. Ok please look below.Symbol(s) for the non Premium Deviants2 years ago in Personal More Like This
