Garrus ReflectsMy investigation into Saren included access to the personnel files of the entire Normandy crew, but even without reading her dossier I would have known who Shepard was the moment she walked into the Presidium. She was one of those rare individuals who wear authority like a second skin. It showed in the way she was aware of everything around her while at the same time focusing on her goal. In the way her squad followed behind her, falling naturally into their support roles. You respected her not because of her rank or because some regulation said you had to, but because the indefinable energy she radiated gave you no choice but to believe in her. And I soon came to learn first-hand the power of that silent synergy she formed with everyone around her.Garrus Reflects3 years ago in Sci-Fi More Like This
Now, sitting in her cabin, watching her sleep, I think back to those early days. All the things they said about me were true. I was idealistic, hot-headed, impulsive, definitely a shoot first ask questions later kind of guy. I hated injusti

4 DAYS BEFORE THE CORONATION OF PRINCESS TWILIGHT SPARKLE
Rainbow Dash fully expected to see Fluttershy up and about by the time she came over to her cottage. The Ponyville animal caretaker was the guest of honor at the schoolhouse for a field trip. Nopony wanted to start it without her.
What Rainbow didn’t anticipate, however, was that only the upper half of the door—attached to its lower counterpart with a few locks—being opened at a pretty slow, snail-like pace. It gave out an eerie creak. She had more than enough time to move out of the way to avoid having her head whacked by the door.
She tried hard not to exhale impatiently. She knew that Fluttershy was usually nervous, but during her campaign for a new animal shelter in Ponyville? No way. She had put herself on the line for months on behalf of so many critters in need of a safe haven, run by ponies with the same gentle and caring demeanor that she had. After all, she couldn’t do all the work by her

The Normandy. Walking her decks for the first time two years ago sent chills up my spine. Good chills. Like the kind you get when you meet someone and know immediately that sooner or later you'll wake up in the same bed. Like the kind I got the first time I met Kaidan Alenko. Only with the Normandy, I knew it was love. With Kaidan, well, it's been two years.
You've asked me more than once to write down my memories, Miranda. Search for gaps. Not that I'd tell you if I found any. If you thought the project you poured yourself into for so long had turned out anything less than perfect, I've no doubt you'd take it as a personal affront. Might even try to go back in and correct the flaw.
Okay, bad joke. We may have gotten off to a shaky start but I've come to realize you care about things more deeply than you'll ever admit. And you helped save Garrus. So I owe you. And so I'll write.
Garrus. Now that brings back memories. The first time I saw him sta

that he would never leave me, never go away.
He said that he would never hurt me.
He said that he would protect me
from the cruelty of the world.
He crushed my soul into a thousand pieces.
But that was a long time ago.
Now I realise;
he opened my eyes to the world.
He made me stronger.
He made me realise that life isn't a fairytale,
and that happy endings don't happen without work.
Those empty promises that he made
weren't so empty after all.

Secret Saturdays - Exotic Entree Pt IA series of torches mounted on walls of stone set aflame and bring light into a crypt of dark. Instrumental tunes chant out both bizarre and goth as a title fades in reading "Weird World". As the title fades out, a sudden eye blinding spark of light unleashes a blow of thick smoke. An incredibly pale figure, wearing a robe of grayish azure, stands out calmly from the vaporizing smolder and looks dead straight into the center with his sharp eyes of flax.Secret Saturdays - Exotic Entree Pt I3 years ago in Sci-Fi More Like This
"Greetings and Bienvenue! I am your gracious host, V.V. Argost!", he presents himself.
"Are you sitting comfortably in your seats my dear Weird World watchers?"
Moving back gradually lies Zak Saturday within the soft confines of the living room sofa.
"Good. And are you loyal to senseless violence and gore?", Argost asks.
Zak watches V.V. Argost's Weird World on the big screen, as he enjoys the soft beverage in his hand.
"Even better", Argost smirks. "For tonight..."

Rainbow Dash soared high in the clouds above Ponyville, without a care in the world. She smiled, but frowned when the bored feeling seeped into her mind. She couldn't just fly all day; she knew that after a few hours she would be fed up with flying. Her wings flapped as she scanned the ground below for any, if not one, of her friends. Instead, she saw an unusual amount of ponies surrounding Sugar Cube Corners, it not even being rush hour and all.
She was curious, so she flew over to the roof quickly, not drawing any attention to herself. She looked at the crowd once again, unable to make out what anypony was saying because of the screaming. She sighed, and walked to the back part of the roof. After a second, Rainbow Dash knocked three times on Pinkie Pie's window. At first she didn't see a thing but right when she was going to knock again, she was met by the familiar green, scaly face of Gummy. She jumped, almost falling over the ledge her back hooves were on, but caught her balance be
Best FriendDo you know how many times you’ve hurt me,Best Friend2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Never intending to, never noticing?
Do you know how many times you’ve pierced a dagger through my heart,
Completely oblivious to it?
Pain is the hardest coming from a friend.
What felt so natural to you
It pained me so deep.
Why do I feel as we are growing more and more apart
When you are walking right next to me?
Why do I feel like you’re slipping and I can’t hold you?
You have no idea how scared I am
That I will leave you behind
And that you will think I betrayed you.
You have no idea how many times I cried because of you,
Because you just don’t see, and I don’t know how to explain.
If you only knew how terribly scared I am,
That you won’t be there with me in the end.
But I do believe you know I will do everything I can
I will fight for you with all I’ve got
‘Cause you know that’s the only choice I have.
Secret Saturdays - Exotic Entree Pt II"You're not seriously leaving us with a babysitter, are you???", Zak Saturday whines.Secret Saturdays - Exotic Entree Pt II2 years ago in Sci-Fi More Like This
The young Saturday and Gorilla-Cat follow Doc all the way through the hallway of the south-west wing of Saturday HQ and into the elevator. With the press of a button, the elevator starts taking the three Saturdays down to the hanger deck where Drew Saturday is waiting for them. Through one of the windows, Fiskerton catches a glimpse of the open ocean over the cliffs reflecting the moon's descending lights just before the elevator had taken the Saturdays below ground.
"Don't even try to argue out of this one Zak", the eldest Saturday challenges.
"For once, your mother and I want to have an anniversary where we don't have to worry about what will happen to the place while we're gone."
"But why a babysitter???", Zak continues.
"Think about it, it actually has the word baby in it!"
"Do you remember what happened the last time we left the two of you alone?"
The young Saturday an
A Shadowed Heart - Chapter 1Darkness. A void so absolute it was alive, its tortured heartbeat measured by the slow erratic splash of water echoing in the distance. Somewhere lost within its bowels a hand reached out in question, but finding only rough, damp stone, it jerked quickly away before tentatively reaching out again. Cautiously a woman slowly pulled herself up but the darkness was so all-encompassing that for a moment there was a feeling of vertigo as her senses struggled to find a reference point.A Shadowed Heart - Chapter 12 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
She didn't know where she was or why she was there. But even as the questions formed, thought gave way to instinct and survival demanded she move. With one hand on the wall she inched her way toward the echoing water, her bare feet feeling out each hesitant step. In places the passage was so narrow the stones tore at her threadbare shift, but she pushed her way through and pressed on.
Thoughts, disorganized and scattered, swirled through her mind until one rose up to tear a scream from her throat. A name. What
Frankie - Chapter 1An erratic breeze blew the leather duster away from his legs before snapping it back again as Garon stood surveying the ally below from his vantage point at the roof's edge. Demons. A Wyvern leading six Brutes, huge manlike creatures capable of throwing a car as easily as most men threw a baseball. Apparently his sister was trying to send a message.Frankie - Chapter 13 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Most of them carried blades, but he knew their boar-like tusks were every bit as deadly as their daggers and in a fight they preferred to gore or crush their opponents rather than stab them. Standing among them, the Wyvern with his slight, sinewy frame looked almost childlike, his blue-black hair falling straight and long to his ankles where a sudden light gust caused it to undulate around his legs in an eerie pantomime of Garon's duster.
He toyed with the idea of fighting them with fangs and claws. The battle would be viscerally satisfying but impractical considering how many there were. He had to concede that this time it would be better

Rosario + Vampire "A Confession and a Vampire: Reboot"
Chapter 1: 'A Confession and a Vampire: Moka's side'
Author's Notes: Please read:
This is a complete 'reboot' of my ever-popular, original fan-fiction story 'A Confession and a Vampire' except it will be somewhat different. This will follow the events of the most recent manga chapters and contains major spoilers from season 2, chapter 65 and onward.
It also combines elements from my one-shot 'Moka's Strangest Day Ever' (co-written with my very good friend and beta reader, Shadowwolf08, from here on fan-fic) minus the part with Outer Moka, who is no longer around in the manga series; so it will definitely be different. Some events will be the same; otherwise it is a completely different story...kind of, LOL. ^_^
My other story is on hiatus right now as I have no idea what to write or how to wrap it up, so this story will have to hold you over, for the time being anyway. Sorry!
Don't worry – I will not abandon it. I still ha

Trust is weak
It takes time to gain, and must be handled with care
The smallest mistake can beget a break
Some can ignore the fracture or try to repair,
Others cannot see past it
If the breach is ignored, but the trust still tacit,
The fissures can be multiplied
More cracks can form, and before it is ratified,
It is impossible to see past the ruptures
It only takes one more gash, and then it rends
The trust is broken into pieces, too many to number
Too unobtainable to mend
The reflections of what once was remain
But nothing can be done to make it the same

in one night
it drives me insane!
To open and greet
these ugly little faces
each, requesting the same.
A ghost, a goblin,
a fairy, a ghoul
a devil, with horns and a fork;
a little guy in baggy clothes
his face, half covered with cork...
Bag upon bag
loaded with goodies
they rush, from door to door.
the October of the night
to be replaced by more...
vampires, skeletons, trolls...
Noise and more noise
they take their claims
bearing us, their devilish souls...
But looking into
their sweet little faces
do we not really enjoy it?
My fellow adults
as much as we think
by the name of all madness
we'd like to destroy it?
For Halloween comes
but once a year.
And were we not young once, too?
We went through it all
the whole spooky bit,
when jacko-lanterns eyes
seemed to move...
Behind the flicker of a flame
that was touched, by the night
which secretly, left us 'all' in doubt...
No! Not a night that we dread
