Uh... not even sure if Greek Gods celebrate Christmas... but... I sent you a gift anyway.
Hope to see you within the next five years?
I slipped the letter in the package that, besides the letter, contained a seashell tie I bought a few years ago and finally had the nerve to send.
I scrawled on the address and attached a few drachma in a pouch where it disappeared with a “pop!” I wondered how busy Hermes was on Christmas... probably about as busy as a cashier during a sedge.
A knock on the door startled me, and I capped Riptide quickly.
“Who is it?” I called, looking over my shoulder.
“Who else would it be, Seaweed brain!” The shout confirmed what I thought.
I walk over and open the door to Annabeth, bundled up in jackets, her breath steaming out in front of her.
“Uh... do you want to come in?” I asked, seeing her shiver.
“Y-yes. That would probably help me not ge

She will smile now, maybe even laugh, and tell you the story of her life with a glint in her eyes:
(She sang him to sleep countless times.)
She would lie his head in her lap and run a hand through his hair and beard; she would trace the line of his jaw to his cheekbones to the tip of his nose as if tracing stars into constellations.
She taught him the constellations, too, one by one, and he pretended not to notice the way her eyes would occasionally cloud over with yearning, with longing (because, oh, how she wished she could sail along with him having the stars as their only guide!), and she would pretend not to notice how he seemed suddenly weighted down with grief as he remembered her.

"Bob says hello," Percy said to the stars.
The Argo II sailed into the night.
Percy chatted with a roman girl and a statue using a rainbow.
Which, for him, was probably the most normal thing he'd done all day.
It wasn't actually as strange as you would think. In just the past week, he had gone to Tartarus, ridden the Elevator of Death, battled with Bob the Titan Janitor, and seen a skinny son of Hades make a giant statue disappear.
"The Athena Parthenos has been returned to your camp safely, Percy." Reyna nodded to her left, where Athena's giant hand was visible. Her slightly curled hair bounced as her head snapped to her left. She frowned.
"What's up Reyna? Talk to me." Percy said loudly.
"Oh, uh, sorry." She glanced behind herself again. "If you want to say hi, just talk to him already!"

I was laying on the ground on top of many rocks. I felt drips of water landing on my cheek from another rock up above me. I opened my eyes so slowly and moved my arms into a push up position and lifted my self up slowly. I moaned, everything hurt. My hand slipped and something and my body fell back to the cold and damp ground.
I looked to my left and realized my hand slipped on a spider's web, and Annabeth wasn't there beside me.
I got up immediately, ignoring the pain that ran throughout my body. I stood up and yelled her name, but I couldn't see her anywhere. The entire place was dark and damp. Rocks and hills everywhere. There was water dripping from all parts of the ceiling. It looked like a cave, deep, deep underground. I know Grover would absolutely hate this.
I screamed her name and again I got no response. Annabeth where are you I thou

It left a clean line on her cheek where dirt used to be and dripped off her scraped chin and fell to the ground. He Failed2 years ago in Settings More Like This
He wanted to be there with her. To protect her, to love her for eternity. He couldn’t let her do it alone.
He tired to run to her as Jason held one of his arms and Frank held the other. Leo was blocking him from any chance of running to her. He tried to escape the grasp of his friends and run to her and called out her name.

Annabeth tried not to let her voice betray the frantic, panicky energy building up inside her as she searched the camp for the daughter of Aphrodite.
“She was down by the lake last I saw her,” a nearby satyr supplied, looking at Annabeth with concern.
She nodded her thanks and dashed off toward the canoe lake, too preoccupied to wonder what he must have thought of her.
Sure enough, there on the beach was Piper along with most of the Aphrodite cabin. Many of the girls were tanning in bikinis or reading gossip magazines, but Piper was lounging under the shade of a pine on top of the dunes, reading a large book Annabeth hadn’t seen before. For once in her life, she didn’t care about the book.
She stopped in front of her friend, her chest heaving from running, her back to the other girls. “Hey, Piper.”
Something in her voice must have tipped Piper off because she looked up quickly and

If only he knew.
The blissful smile on his face turned her stomach, although she couldn’t help but smile herself. He was happy, smiling genuinely for the first time in days. Annabeth had to grant him that, and as worried as she was at the moment, she allowed herself to be grateful that they were finally out of Tartarus, safe (right now), and together. But the worry gnawed at her, and the words nearly fell off of her lips as she spoke to him.
Annabeth had deliberated. This was his son, his daughter. He needed to know, but the moment Percy locked eyes with her she’d crumbl

The storm had picked up huge now. It started out as a small thunderstorm but then the wind got stronger and the rain got harder. It began to hail the size of marbles and when lightning struck it lit up everything. Snow blew everywhere outside.
The power had gone out so Annabeth lit a fire in the fireplace to keep us warm and so we could see. It was about 8:00pm in the middle of winter and Josh and Mathew were standing by the window waiting for lighting to strike.

“Awe come on,” Mathew complained.
“Dad,” Josh said to me.

Annabeth chose a small café that sat on the other side of the road, it was a cozy place with not many people around, we chose a table and ordered drinks. I knew Annabeth was thinking hard on the next plan of action, jotting down some ideas on a napkin, and ultimately crossing them out and moving to a blank napkin, I think she had gone through seven of them so far. I had my head in my hands, the image of that serpent burning in my mind. I felt so unlike myself, like for the first time I couldn't control the water around me, it was just so strange, it was like when I plunged into the River Styx and feeling the sensation of not being able to breathe under water. I glanced at Nico as he drummed his fingers on the table. I could tell he didn't really want to be there, being a son of Hades; he wasn't really one for public places and having other people looking at him. He kept glancing at the ground under his chair as if he were waiting for it to open and swallow him whole.

Not So Sweet Dreams
The moment she closed her eyes, dreams appeared. Odessa found herself standing on a mountain. A muscular man in a chiton climbed up beside her. In the distance she could see Atlas holding up a swirling sky.
The man, who Odessa guessed was Hercules, went to Atlas. She watched as Atlas went to get the apples while Hercules was stuck in Atlas's place, with the weight of the world literally on his shoulders. When Atlas returned with the golden apples, he told Hercules he would take them to Eurystheus himself, and asked Hercules to stay there and hold the heavy load for the rest of time. Hercules slyly agreed, but asked Atlas whether he could take it back again, just for a moment, while the hero put some soft padding on his shoulders to help him bear the weight of the sky and the earth. Atlas put the apples on the ground, and lifted the burden onto his own shoulders. And so Hercules picked

He was curled up in the corner of his little Hell, as he normally was. Creamy skin marred with grease and dirt, sienna hair filthy and tangled, the red streak almost indistinguishable from the rest. Long fingers clenching and unclenching in sheer boredom.

Blaze was pretty exhausted by the time they got their room. She was too tired to even change into her pajamas.

This time it was Blaze's turn to have dreams. She was standing in the middle of a blazing fire. A bright rainbow shone in the sky, almost like a path. Behind her, Blaze heard Odessa's voice, but she couldn't find her friend. Her feet were stuck to the ground, and when she tried to call out to Odessa, her voice wouldn't work. Suddenly her mouth opened on it's own and someone else's voice spoke through hers. "Beware, Odessa. Without your friends, you will fail. The fire of rainbows shall lead the path!"
The dream dissolved, and Blaze found herself in a workshop that she recognized immediately as her father's. Unfinished machines were scattered across the large room. Hundreds of bolts, screws, wires, nails

You cannot learn to love -
You were never loved enough,
And now the time has come and gone.
You cannot look up towards the sky
And think of stars as souls from here -
Instead you just see twinkling lights
In the night you do not hold dear.
You cannot look towards the sea
And think of lovely days spent -
And even when the sun was shining,
Oh, you don't even wish that you'd went.
You cannot look towards the earth
And think of it as old home -
For you it's just the ground on your feet
And a place you don't want to roam.
Oh, my cold-hearted child,
I cry for you and for love -
How I tried, how I tried, to love you enough,
But the time has come and gone.
