Earlier this year we had to do group work for a swimwear range inspired by Kooza Cirque Du Soleil (don't remmebr if i posted any photos) but we had to sew, design prints etc. I spent 4 whole days hand colouring / designing this print in copics and then my group sewed it up into leggings etc and tonight it was on XFACTOR! they probably don't know / care who made it but on the other side we are like frothing HAHAH.
Heres some photos of tonights show & then fotos of our swimwear collection which we lamely named Cirque Du Blanc

It's not just the artwork that tells you something about it's creator - on the internet, the way you present it is at least equally as important. Your painting can be a masterpiece, hanged in a local gallery, but as long as you post a blurry, badly cropped picture named "1564873" along with "..." in an artist's description, nobody will ever bother visiting your gallery. Creating a nice, representative profile page and setting a certain visual quality standard takes extra time and effort, but if you really care for your work (even if it's just a hobby), you should treat it with some respect.
I've already written a related article called The power of context that tried to explain how to place your work in a context in order to better connect with your audience, this one is focused

Laying a wash
A wash is a large area in a watercolor painting where the paint flow and diffusion have been manipulated to efface individual brushstrokes. Within wash areas, color transitions are usually gradual and span analogous hues. Laying a wash is one of the most satisfying tasks in watercolor painting. Essentials of this s

COSPLAY MAKEUP TUTORIAL!Hi guys!! Thank you as always to all watchers and everyone who faves and comments - I'm so sorry I don't have much time these days to reply to everything, but I definitely do read and appreciate them all!COSPLAY MAKEUP TUTORIAL!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I've been asked so many times I've lost count to put together a makeup tutorial on how I do my cos makeup - and I finally did it!
I hope this is a little helpful, although some disclaimers - I have Caucasian features, so my makeup will be very different to someone with a different face shape. I use a lot of eyemakeup, much more than a lot of people, just because I do lol. My eyes a pretty big naturally, so I line them right up the edge, as opposed to widening the eye by drawing further out. A few things like that to bear in mind ^_^ That said, hope you enjoy! *chu*
Any questions please feel free to ask!
Thinking about Studying the Arts?Just a quick note to all my followers, especially those thinking about studying and getting your bachelors or masters in fine arts etc.Thinking about Studying the Arts?3 months ago in Personal More Like This
If you are based in the US, I would urge you to consider traveling overseas and investigating elsewhere. Some of the finest art schools down here in new zealand and australia cost about the equivalent of $4500 - $6000US per year for a world class, fully accredited degree.
That's a fraction of the cost's you unfortunate folks have to pay in the US.
Worth thinking about, I'm sure your parents will thank you for saving them upwards of 50 - 100k in tuition fees.
Of course you can always teach yourself online with dvd's and tutorials as well, but if that kind of hermit style life is not for you, then again i urge you to look elsewhere outside of the US.
No matter what, entering into the workforce being close to 100k in Debt is absolutely ridiculous as an artist. We already get paid fairly ordinary compared to the tech industry, so minimise your costs right
Project Educate: Fight Artist's/Writer's BlockArtist/Writer's block is the worst nightmare for writers and artists! Because of this, many artists and writers quit! Find a place or situation that inspires you:
Yes, you've all probably heard this a lot of times, but it's true. Finding places that you like can inspire you to do more art/writing! That place doesn't have to be quiet, it can be a huge city bursting with life and sound! Places won't only inspire you, but so will situations. Taking a walk around your city or even you neighborhood can inspire you. Try going to special events that take places. See how people interact! Just like a place, these situations don't have to be happy or very community-like. Sometimes bad situations can inspire artist's/writer's to express their feelings through art or writing.
Pull up old ideas:
Artist's/Writer's usually throw the majorit

How To Sell Your Original PaintingsHow To Sell Your Original PaintingsHow To Sell Your Original Paintings1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
In this article I will be discussing how to sell your original paintings. If your a artist you know how intimidating this can be when you've decided to venture into sales. It may even leave you with doubts about your own work, lower your confidence as a artist, and a bit fearful. Well have no fear! I have some tips from personal experience, as well as online references and advice from fellow artists that will help with your sales.
The First Step
Before we get into 'the meat' of things your very first step is Believe in yourself. Be confident about the accomplishments you've made. If your contemplating selling anything then you have to know you're good at what you do. Let that be your mantra as an artist. Understand that how you've acquired your skills, what you choose to paint, what your art looks like, and how

Protect Your Work, COPYRIGHT YOURSELF.Copyright is a major issue here in DeviantArt, probably one of the hot topics you can't miss every single day. art thefts happen, and it's better if we protect ourselves ahead, and get the last laugh.Protect Your Work, COPYRIGHT YOURSELF.6 years ago in Art Features More Like This
first, lets define Copyright.
What is Copyright?
The legal right granted to an author, composer, playwright, publisher, or distributor to exclusive publication, production, sale, or distribution of a literary, musical, dramatic, or artistic work. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/copyrighting
Are There Many kinds of Copyrights?
Creative Commons licenses are several copyright licenses released on December 16, 2002 by Creative Commons, a U.S. non-profit corporation founded in 2001.
Many of the licenses, notably all the original licenses, grant certain "baseline rights", such as the right to distribute the copyrighted work without changes, at no charge. Some of the newer licenses do not grant these rights.
Creative Commons licenses are currently available in 43

Correcting a name and identityIt was a Winter's afternoon back in 2007 when I gazed at deviantArt for the very first time. I decided to create an account, because hey - why not? I enjoyed creating art, but never did I think it would take me this far. So at the spur of the moment without giving it too much thought, I named myself uniqueLegend.Correcting a name and identity1 year ago in Personal More Like This
…And a mistake that haunted me for years was made.
The name "unique" was something that made me slightly cringe whenever I looked at it. In some ways it made me feel like I was someone who enjoyed standing on a pedestal above everyone else. It does not represent me. Just after I created my deviantArt account, I abandoned it for almost two years.
For years on end I had problems accepting the name. And for years on end I had constant thoughts of deleting my account and starting anew. But I was given several Daily Deviations and it felt like it was too late to start again. My artworks were starting to spread on other sites, and my name was being indented. I wanted to accep
