FAQ: FFXIII-2 Starseeker weaponEdit: Many of you asked for a transformation vid. So, I made this video clip. Enjoy!FAQ: FFXIII-2 Starseeker weapon2 years ago in Personal More Like This
In my former journal I asked if you would like for me to explain how my Starseeker weapon was made. Since there were quite some people that would like me to do so, I decided to make this FAQ journal. So, I hope I'l answer some questions you might have about this curious weapon and I hope I can explain it well enough for you all to understand.
Note that I made the weapon a couple of months ago and I don't remember everything very clear of the making of it. But, I'll do my best.
So, first things first: The Starseeker
Serah's weapon is quite the interesting one. This because it's a transformable one just like her sister's, Lightning. Nonetheless, it's a transformable one from bow to blade, which original form is none other than the cute moogle companion, Mog.
Of course, Final Fantasy is all about 'Fantasy', so making an exact workin

Hey, hey, everybody! We're got something to say,
We make seem as different, as the night is from day.
But if you look a little deeper.
And you will see
That I'm just like you and you're just like me! Yeah!
Hey, hey, everybody! We're here to shout,
That the magic of friendship is what its all about.
Yeah, we thought they were different, as the night is from the day.
Until Twilight Sparkle helped to see another way.
So get up, get down. If you're gonna come around.
We can work together helping Twilight win the crown.
So get up, get down cause its gonna make a sound.
If we work together helping Twilight Sparkle win the crown.
Hey, hey! Hands up now!
We're sending a message to the crowd!
Hands way up, then come down.
Then we'll party together all around.
[Rarity] Generous. Honesty.
[Applejack] Laughter, Kindness, Loyalty.
[Fluttershy] Twilight helped us each to see...

The history of the birthday cakeOrigin of the birthday cakeThe history of the birthday cake1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
In most parts of the world a birthday is just not a birthday without a cake. I thought it would be interesting to learn how this tradition started and how it transformed from one culture to the other.
Cake, the word
The word Cake goes back to the 13th century. The word is of Viking origin, from the Old Norse "kaka". It is described as a baked flour confection sweetened with sugar or honey; it is mixed with eggs and often includes milk and fat.
The cake evolution
Cakes were very different from what we know today, in ancient Greece they started off as bread-like, sweetened with honey.
In the middle-ages, Germany used a sweetened bread-dough in the shape of baby Jesus to commemorate his birthday. It was later that the Birthday Cake truly emerged as a celebration item

I've shared this nifty little trick before - a home made tripod. It sounds impossible, but actually it's really practical and much easier than lugging the real thing around with you if it's not needed! Check out this articlefor more information on how to create it!

Home Made Reflector
Reflectors can be pretty expensive from time to time. I've been lucky to pick up a couple cheaply on Ebay and they serve the purpose but if you really want to save, then why not try making your own? Photography Troubleshooting: Snap to ProThis week we bring you another issue of Troubleshooting for Photographers, to hopefully give you some tips and explanations behind how to make your Photography look that little bit more professional. Aeirmid noted that while there are a lot of folks in the photomanipulation community who enjoy taking photographs, there is also a great desire for people to learn a bit more about how to make them look more professional.Photography Troubleshooting: Snap to Pro2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Firstly combining the elements of many of the articles that have already been written in this series (see the bottom of this article for links) will assist anybody in gearing their photographs up to look more professional. However IsacGoulart summed it up quite neatly with this rather epic quote...
“Beauty can be seen in all things, seeing and composing the beauty is what separates the snapshot from the photograph."
Getting your work up to some sort of standard is always tricky. Especially if you are setting the standar
The Photography Galleries: Why and How to SuggestSo many of my watchers and other members of the community suggest fantastic pieces for Daily Deviations every week. But I need more. I need to be more specific about my rules now too, so that you understand what I do and do not look for. But above all that, it's time to get You more exposure. Think you have an awesome photograph in your gallery? Why not consider self suggesting right now. I actively encourage it. If you send me your own work I will greet you with pompoms and latex free balloons. Srsly. Project Educate: Photographing Infants + ChildrenPhotographing infants and children can either be really painful and frustrating, or incredibly fun and rewarding. It depends entirely on the child. I kid, sort of. It's what you make of it and how you treat the moment. Children are fast, sometimes moody, sometimes hyper and nearly always think they know what you want them to do when you turn the camera on them. Either run, or crack that huge fake camera smile that they've been taught to do for their school photographs.Project Educate: Photographing Infants + Children2 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Don't force a smile. If the child doesn't want to smile, don't make them. You'll end up with the fake smile. However having said that, you can try and be funny, but again don't push it. They're smarter than many give them credit for. If you're not getting a smile but you're getting a rude funny face, then accept it. Those sorts of shots can be awesome as well.
Learn to accept imperfections. Whether the children are strangers to you or not, you can't have it perfect all of the time. Messy hair,

The oldest cake in the world is 2 pieces from the wedding cake of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert dated 1840 (yuck!) And finally the most expensive cake ever baked was $20 million - no it wasn't the tallest cake talked of above, it just happened to have diamonds on it!

Photography Troubleshooting: FiltersThis week we bring you another issue of Photography Troubleshooting to hopefully give you some tips and explanations behind how to make use of some photography accessories. If you have a question, query or any thoughts you wish to see discussed just drop us a comment or note!Photography Troubleshooting: Filters2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
"The use of filters, how to pick them and examples of situations where they would be helpful...."
Hi moria330, filters are a good way of diversifying your photographic opportunities without spending a great deal of money (though, granted, many of the better quality filters can get to be relatively expensive).
In film photography, filters were used a lot more extensively then they are today thanks to the nature of the medium.
For example colour filters were used for white balance purposes on colour films that were balanced for different light types, so, you could shoot artificial light balanced film under daylight if you had a filter that corrected for it.
Food Photography - back to basicsFood is a necessity for daily life and good health (the right kinds anyway), but food is also fast becoming something of an Art as well as many turn to their cameras once a mammoth baking session is over and capture the delightful dishes in attractive and alluring ways. Since the beginnings of Still Life Photography, food has been a subject and whilst the topic has remained the same - methods, equipment and ease have changed in varying degrees across the years. Food Photography is still a genre that is vastly overlooked and majorly underrated in the art world.Food Photography - back to basics2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
It all began with Still Life Paintings back in the 17th Century. They were as far from commercial as a style could get and certainly weren't created with selling in mind. However the skill and main aspects that realism painters took back in the 17th Century are kept close to the hearts of Food Photographers today as they grip onto Realism, effects of light, composition and arrangement. Props have always been an important part of

The general theme this week is focusing on Architecture and in particular how to drum a bit more enthusiasm for noticing what's around us and capturing it successfully on camera. Architecture is profoundly unavoidable whether we like it or not! It's there in everyday life through work, socialising, living, politics and everything in between. The Architecture Gallery here on deviantART is vast and contains a great range of inspiring artworks.
