Apparently, theres something wrong with having one. And having one with a very developed story that intertwines with the characters of said fandom (assume its Naruto and I WILL destroy you). What really is wrong with having one is beyond me, but it seems if you do a few stories with fan characters, or original characters to be specific, the story will go unread.
Really, are you that shallow-minded?
Ive been writing fanfictions on and off for years now, since 2004, varying between what my interests were at that point. So YES I have a Naruto one, BACK. OFF. It was originally going to be a different story, but I got so pissed off with people saying it was amazing, I revamped it and now its just basically smut with a bit of a plot. And its STILL faved and commented on with a Continue please (insert annoyed s

Pitch x Reader - Whispers in the Dark Chapter I You are in your bedroom, sitting at your desk and staring out of your window into the night. The darkness looms about the neighborhood and your second story bedroom provides a great view of it. The moon shines through a blanket of clouds and brings light into your room. A sigh of content escapes your lips and you turn back to the glowing laptop screen atop your desk. A while ago, you were on a popular art website called DeviantART and were just checking out the latest Naruto fan art. You leave a comment on a killer picture of Sasuke fighting Itachi and log out, closing your laptop and getting up to stretch. The room goes dark for the clouds have obscured the moon and its glory. You couldn't help but feel giddy at the thought of the moon's light being swallowed by darkness. All these years your friends and even your own parents thought your fascination of darkness was a bit unnerving, and anyone who judged you either was verbally put down or got knucklePitch x Reader - Whispers in the Dark Chapter I2 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
Mary Sue, Mary SchmueMARY SUE, MARY SCHMUE: WHY YOU SHOULD IGNORE THE LABELMary Sue, Mary Schmue6 years ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
Part One: It's Not As Bad As You Think
Any writer who has opened their work to criticism or posted their work on the Internet (oh wait, that's the same thing), has undoubtedly heard the term "Mary Sue." In all likelihood, you've heard this term because one of your characters has had this label thrown at them. Perhaps the fear alone of having your character turned into a dartboard for flamers has driven you to discover the definition of this term. In fact, it's likely that the fear of this label has altered your writing and characterization in some way. Has it driven you to be less shallow, and make your characters less shallow? Good! Has it driven you to think more carefully about your plot devices to make sure you're not pulling a Deus Ex Machina, and to keep a close eye on your characterization to make sure you're not derailing any of their personalities? Good! Has it driven you to b

She hummed a nonsensical song, rocking back and forth on the velvet carpet. Her room was dim-lighted and quiet, with only a small breeze blowing the silk curtains by her window. Shadows could hide easily in the dark corners. Something was waiting; waiting to pop out and consume the poor child into darkness. Yet, she paid no heed. She wasn’t bothered by the dark. At least, not anymore. She had a friend in the dark, and he was there with her.
The King of Nightmares loomed over her small figure, watching her fingers reach for the bag and pluck a random candy to place on the floor

That direction is down.
Shadows flee in one direction. Unlike water, however, they sometimes still, and they are always quiet. This is what makes the heartless so feared. They flee from the light, like shadows, but instinct drives them to destroy that thing that they fear most.
Now, what if water and darkness were mixed? What would happen to the water? Could it attack like the heartless? Or would it continue to flow determinedly downward?
I still have no idea what brought this cascade of thoughts down upon me that day. Maybe it was the way the light struck the ocean, sending shafts of green-gold light piercing down through the surface and into the dark depths below. Maybe it was the way that as time wen

What actually did make him happy?
It was not something he’d thought about or even remotely considered in… Well it seemed to be bordering on forever now. Emotions such as happiness, such as being carefree or even jovial were not, well they were not in his repertoire of things to feel. Not even for a man like him, who felt things with a fierce intensity that he had expertly managed hide behind a snide grin with lupine teeth and hard void eyes.
Did he even remember what happiness felt like? Possibly. Was it a warm feeling? like sunshine kissing lush skin bronze as it dipped toward the horizon on a summer’s day? Or was it like it sinking into the near scalding water of a freshly drawn bath after being out in the cold? Where it would hurt as it licked at the skin, the body thinking it to be painful, to burn until it adjusted and realized that it was good, that it was life giving warmth, heat.
And did it have a color? Something in the spectrum of bur

I used to RP.
How do you think I became such a good writer?
But as it stands, the days of my RPing are just a memory now, their glory gone only to be seen once more in a burst of nostalgia... ah we had such a time. There was just us, and no candid storyline, and all the action we could ever think of.
I can only tell you that RPing with my old friends was an experience like no other, one that I've never found in any other group. We KNEW what the other was thinking, we all were interconnected almost, one mind nearly. Such days are long gone, and I cannot help but miss them with all my soul, but I realize that those days are again, over, and I will never see days like that ever again.
Oh, how time has passed, and yet, I can remember every moment that we spent together, though in front of a computer, bodies inactive, but minds running at the speed of sound. An adventure unparalleled, a creative adventure, no limits, and all the time in the world. An ec

He was always so dark. Such a dark fairy tale that kids got goose bumps while speaking of him. Expect you, you were a fan of his misery, and his chaos in the dark ages. It was always so interesting. You finished researching about the evil ‘ boogey man’. You were laughing on how most bloggers described him. “ A Monster” This amused you to a far point of even chuckling about it. You shook your head and got off the internet, putting your laptop down and laying on your bed. When you looked out your window it was dark and damp. There was fog everywhere, kinda scary. You know all those things about the boogey man weren't true. They aren’t and never will be. How do you know? It’s very simple really.
It’s because you've already met the boogey man yourself
He wasn't a monster. He was Dark, Evil and surely will be the last guardian standing.

'What's this?' Ivan chuckled in mild surprise as he stepped into his office. It had been a long day, jumping from meeting to meeting, and the Russian had looked forward to doing a bit of filing, then heading to bed. It was very late - about 3 o'clock in the morning, so Ivan was a bit surprised when he found Estonia, sitting at the computer, head on the desk, fast asleep. Ivan walked over and knelt beside the Estonian, observing how tired Eduard looked. There were dark circles under his eyes, and he was pale. Nine Nobodies, tucked away in the deepest basement of Castle Oblivion, mourned their current situation.

Zexion shrugged. Sacrifices.

Does this mean that theres a way you can die, Luxord said, trembling, and go so far that not even evil resurrection can bring you back?
Who knows? Lexaeus repeated.

Safe and SoundSandy let out a relieved sigh as he arrived at the Pole; tonight had been a good night. Little to no nightmares, calm weather, and he'd even gotten to hang around with Tooth in a few places. She'd finished earlier than him, and told him she'd be returning to the Pole for some rest. It wasnt that Deidara was talking too much, or blowing things up. In fact, he hadnt disturbed Sasori the whole trip. Which was what was bothering the puppeteer. It was ironic, he thought, how he was annoyed both by his lovers talking AND the silence he had always sought for. Sasori figured it wasnt the silence itself that truly bothered him, but the idea of what the silence meant. Silence meant Deidara was thinking. And if Deidara was thinking this hard about something, most of the time it wasnt good. Sasori snuck a glance towards the fellow artist and felt a pit of worry form in his stomach at the dejected look on his face. He decided the best thing to do would be to express his concern.
