Camera Angles and Storytelling through Panels
As a writer it's your job to define the pacing and flow of the page and how your story will reach the readers. The artist's job is to take those directions, execute them as best as he can and apply his vision on top of the writer's. It is a collaborative effort and that's why writers and artists have to keep a constant communication.
Drawing a pin-up is one thing, telling a story through pictures is something else entirely. All your choices have weight and they should mean something, you should be very conscious of every single decision you take as an artist/writer when working on a comic book.
A close up has a very different desired effect than a wide shot for instance, and they each communicate something specific to your readers. So always keep in mind, "What do I want to communicate wi

Homo sapiens. What an inventive, invincible species. It's only a few million years since they crawled up out of the mud and learned to walk. Puny, defenceless bipeds. They've survived flood, famine and plague. They've survived cosmic wars and holocausts. And now, here they are, out among the stars, waiting to begin a new life. Ready to outsit eternity. They're indomitable.
Which is the quickest way out of here?

Yes. Well. That's democracy for you.
I love humans. Always seeing patterns in things that aren't there.
Your species has the most amazing capacity for self-deception, matched only by its ingenuity when trying to destroy itself.
Oh, you know nothing of any human, and that will be your downfall
There's no such thing as an ordinary human.

"Guess I'm kinda lucky." Sasuke commented, making Naruto blush. Sasuke noticed and knew right away that Naruto got the wrong idea. "S-since, ah, you have shampoo and conditioner still and stuff " Naruto calmed down and felt somewhat disappointed.
" Oh." ←Naruto
Normally the showers were pretty spacy, but with two of them the shower seemed smaller. Naruto was blushing once again, his back was on Sasuke's chest. He could feel Sasuke's heart beat, and he tried really hard to match with it. Which helped calmed him down quite a bit. 'it's only a shower, it's only a shower, it's-AH!' Naruto screamed as the cold water hit him, nearly scaring the shit out of him.
"Teme! The hell!?"
Sasuke wanted to laugh, he was having such a hard time not to. Naruto was very distracted wi

A Soldier's PoemI fight hard, I fight alone.A Soldier's Poem3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Of pain like mine, there is no clone.
My gun blazes, my ammo's gone,
I take a hit, but I fight on.
Alone and dark, I felt true fear,
I had known Death was near.
My body failed, I fell to the floor,
My spirit wandered, Forevermore.

The phoenix is my symbol
It is my sign
For it is my strength
My souls twine
For I am the phoenix
I am the fire
Death and rebirth
In me is one pyre
In flame immortal
My soul consumes
The universal power
Through which life blooms
For I am a god
I am life
My glory be crowned
Naught rage I with strife

River KnewSpoilers up to and including 'The Snowmen'.River Knew1 year ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
River knew. She had known for a long time.
There was a moment they had shared, right after they had gotten married and on her first of many nights inside the TARDIS. An opening of minds so to speak. It was a very close gesture that only married couples usually participated in since it required the use of the others real name (which was always powerful) and quite a bit of intimacy with your partner.
She found out just after they had shared the bed (he knew how to please a lady) and minds for the first time (such a wonderful feeling). The Doctor had fallen asleep, but he was relaxed and his mind was still partly open. It was also the first night she witnessed his nightmares.
They didn't start at first. River stroked his hair until she fell asleep beside him. It was hours later when his dreams accidentally leaked into her mind through the still open link that she saw it葉heir first and last meeting in the library. Her death. She was
To Dream Of The Hunt...To Dream Of The Hunt...2 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
I went to bed hungry, and God! how I dreamed---
Running over hill and dale on four mighty paws,
Hungry and dreadful my voice as I bayed and howled!
A flock of sheep lay before me,
In a moonlit meadow of grass and sweet clover
And high-spraying blood that shone black on the ground
As I killed and killed and killed!
Glutted, I loped over the reeking red hill
And slunk into a darkling wood to slumber...
Retching, I woke with wool in my mouth
And a well-gnawed sheep's head for a pillow---
Merciful God, not again...

Blacklight - Howlin Cafe
A man in a business suit, an old fashioned hat, and a fine pair of gloves walked into the Cafe la Marks. No one even glanced, businessmen often come to the cafe. He sat down in a booth near the kitchen, carefully laying his brief case on the seat next to him. The waitress came up to him and he ordered a black coffee, as well as a steak, as rare as could be made.
"Will that be all sir?" asked the waitress.
"For now," he said, glancing at the clock, and sipping his fresh coffee. "It is almost the lunch rush isn't it?"
"Yes, we always get a packed house here, I'm surprised that me and the other waitresses can keep up with it."
"That's good. Very good. I suppose you'll be busy, I'll let you carry on. Thank you."
The Gathering...The Gathering...2 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
On a moonlit night in a village in France,
The Loup-Garous gather to dance!
The shy ones lean against the wall
As the bolder beasts leap and have a ball!
The Grand Wolf-Mother comes forth from her lair,
Her pack's fierce howls do split the air!
They run and they lope and they enter the town,
Breaking the doors of their victims down!
The screams are shrill but they don't last long;
Then all you can hear is the Loup-Garous' song--
"Blood and flesh and hard white bone,
We feast together, we feast alone!
OWWOOO! Mother Moon, smile down on us still
As we hunt and dance and leap and kill!"

Just don’t leave me be
Amy the waiter, Rory the last
Clara the impossible
And River my wife
I’ve loved you all with both my hearts
But time has once again come

Bow ties and fezzes and hats of all sizes
Space mixed with time and the wonders they bring
These are a few of my favourite things!
Brand-new companions, the look on their faces
When I reveal to them dazzling new places
Hurtling to death while the universe sings,
These are a few of my favourite things!
Tea and bananas and scarves of great measure,
Sonic screwdrivers, no pears and much leisure,
Flying the TARDIS, the thrill that it brings
These are a few of my favourite things!
When the foes strike,
When the world ends
(For the hundredth time)
I simply remember my favourite things
And then I can feel...just fine!

But when the doctor smiles,

And skips beats for miles,
The weather goes perfect and mild,

GalateaSometimes, she is my mistressGalatea8 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
Sneaking in through my window and seducing me out of sleep
She keeps me up past sunrise, whispering sweet promises in my ear
Silencing me with her smoldering passion, stripping me until inspiration strikes
She makes me sing, until the sheets are slathered in a thick skin of poetry
Sending shivers up my spine and igniting my senses with her ghostly fingers
She is a lover and a shadow, nowhere to be seen when I wake
Sometimes, she is my psychosis
Suffocating and strong, I can do nothing but submit to her grasp
She seethes, like a snake constricting around me until my sight blurs to smoke
Slowly, she consumes me with sick reverence and searing obsession
She stifles me because she refuses to be restrained, yet I long for her kiss
Severing haggard breaths from my lips, leaving me stunned and aching
She is a succubus and a nightmare, haunting me
Sometimes, she is my saint
Stifling sobs against my shoulder, shaking me until my tears start to fall
She has so much
Find Her, Find River SongFind Her, Find River Song3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
"Find her. Find River Song."
That was when she knew.
As she was bent over the man she was bred to kill, her task fulfilled, that's when she knew that finding River Song was not going to be a physical search, a physical journey. She saw the earnest sadness in the Doctor's gentle green eyes as he looked into her, pleading. Find her. Find yourself. Find the woman you are, not what they made you to be.
"Tell her something."
Melody was afraid. Not because the Doctor would harm her, or be angry with her, but because she knew that once she heard those words from the Time Lord's lips there would be no more pretending that she and the River Song he loved so much were different people.
Because as long as she was Melody, she didn't care that he struggled to stand, to save his best friends in his last moments. She didn't care that as the seconds marched past they took his life with them. She didn't care that his hearts stuttered and struggled to beat. She didn't care that his lungs were unable to
