How to become famous on dA?Quick and easy guide for plastic fame in 23 stepsHow to become famous on dA?5 years ago in Personal More Like This
1. Be a female.
2. The hotter you look the better artist you are.
3. Dont use watermarks - unless you are hot female in this situation people will accept everything. They will even encourage you to use watermarks.
4. If you are female you dont have to be intelligent and do masterpieces the hotter you look on ID photos the less brilliant you can be. Nobody will care a damn about your works anyway.
5. If you are female and you like to nicely answer on every comment people will kill and die for you.
6. If you are too much intelligent no-female, dont have a proper ID photos, use watermarks - you are so screwed - unless you do nude photography.
7. Do some macabre/gore naked-vagina-like stuff.
8. Dont write too long journals and dont use too much sophisticated subjects nobody will read it and your intelligence will discourage many watchers (unless you are hot female).
behind the scenesI didn't take many 'behind the scenes' shots, but this basically what it was like.behind the scenes4 years ago in Personal More Like This
The water started looking like pee as the colors washed off and then it turned more green. I had the camera set up on a tripod as close as I could get, and then I used Live view on the screen and set the 100mm macro lens to manual so that I could manually focus it on the dripping water. (I had previously used the tinsel for some natural bokeh effects like in this shot: http://night-fate.deviantart.com/art/bokeh-278729833
I was trying to take two different kinds of photos at once lol. It's better to start with one thing and then try the other.
This is what it looked like through Live view, and then when I shot random photos using the internal flash, I get random results. Once it's focused where the water is dripping, then it's not as frustrating...that is, if you're using a tripod. However, it sometimes gets frustrating that you can't really get as close with a tripod, then you fi

“If life were a camera, I'd have the lens cap on.”
― Charles M. Schulz
I lacked the inspiration for any words for the article today, so I googled Photography under News and came up with something pretty amazing. Photography, it says, can be an ideal tool to give a voice to those who need it most, people on the margins of society, or who have little access to mass modes of outside communication. Photo-journalism goes some way to documenting those who can't document themselves, but how different would it be if they could do it? What would they photograph if they were stood behind the view finder looking forwards at their own lives? And equally - what would we photograph about ourselves?
PhotoVoice is a charity that was formed about ten years ago and is now well known for its commitment to training and developing the knowledge of those members of communities who are l

Drawing tips - tutorialHello watchersDrawing tips - tutorial2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Some people ask me how I learned to draw and what tips I can give them! So I wrote a tutorial and hope it will help! Here are my tips for you to become a better drawer!
First of all a good drawing stands with good materials. Good paper (no copy paper) and good pencils. If you're not sure, the expensive ones are mostly pretty good! For graphite I use Staedtler Mars Lumograph and for colour Faber-Castell "Polycromos".You need to use different numbers of pencils: 4H for very light areas and 6B for the dark areas. A big contrast in a drawing makes a better drawing! You can't make a good drawing with one HB pencil. You need a 6B or 4B to create more depth in the drawing.Choose a good picture. The greatest drawer in the world can't make a good drawing from a bad picture. A high-resolution image is necessary to see all the details! Next to the high-resolution, it has to be an interesting picture. The result could be a beautiful drawing, however a boring image wouldn't attract a

Be a good Muppet todayGo ahead, be a good muppet. Do and think EXACTLY what the media wants you to. Thou shalt feel sorry for the three people who were murdered in Boston today. The next month shall be spent talking about the evils of terrorism again and discussing the stripping away of further liberties from law abiding citizens.Be a good Muppet today2 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
25,000 die from hunger every day, a million is withering away in prisons due to the war on drugs for victimless crimes, human rights violations abound, preventable disease and lack of clean water is killing millions per year, banking cartels immune from prosecution are stealing trillions, drones are blowing up children in half, etc, etc..
Fuck all that, right? The media didn't tell you to care. Take the red pill, friends, and walk away. Keep your mind under your own control. This is not a lack of compassion the three fellow human beings who tragically lost their lives today. It's a lack of respect for those who use every marketable tragedy to further their ends and profits. I
Common IssuesThis page is a response to common issues for those who have deconverted or are critically questioning their faith. It is broken into two main sections, each with it's own subcategories addressing specific points. The first section deals with issues ex-Christians may have, they include fear of hell, fear of death, telling friends and relatives you no longer believe, and "what if I'm wrong?". The second section deals with commonly heard arguments (if one can call them that) by the religious, which include "you have no morals", "you have faith in science", "evolution is just a theory" and more. Each point will just give a brief response or explanation. These are no way conclusive or entirely thorough, they won't attempt to answer every possible angle as many of these issues can be quite in depth, but there will be links to find more information on the issue (also see our resource section for many more). If you have questions or comments feel free to leave them here (but please read ourCommon Issues2 years ago in Personal More Like This
video sketchesyes you guessed it.video sketches1 year ago in Personal More Like This
i saw my husbands video and felt the urge of wanting to make one as well. why? dunno.. I just realized I wanted to relax and sketch whatever so I turned on my recorder XD
its funny, there have been so many times I wanted to demonstrate the way both me and my husband write our comics. but I just couldn't get around to catching that moment when I had a certain idea I wanted to turn into a strip.
With me it happens gradually, especially now that I have a ton of work on the side so I can draw an idea in a few doodles, and let it sit around. then after a few days I come back to it.. or after a month or after 3 months. sometimes the idea is good, and sometimes it isn't. sometimes when you think you had the best idea, you wake up the next morning and think.. what was i thinking ?? XD
This can never fit there!
But sometimes its a fun or interesting idea so you keep it anyway XD
well this video shows how the ideas are born. I'm pretty sure many of you are f

Imaginaerum film reviewThis movie was totally worth $32 dollars. I absolutely loved it! I think it's great film for all Nightwish fans (although I know this one dude who is a fan of Nightwish, but claims to have hated the movie and I am all like "STFU, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!")Imaginaerum film review2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The story is pretty original, and I kinda teared up at the end c:
it was so beautiful! My only problem with it was that it was a little too short, but very good overall!
Unless you're like the dude I know, I recommend it!
shortest review ever, but I am a little piled with last minute projects that love giving at the last minute -_- I gotta get started on that.
seriously, today was the last day, finals are next week and they give out more homework! STAHP IT!

One Year TodayToday is the 1st anniversary of my mother's death. I never really mentioned this in the past because I didn't want to diminish her memory, but she and I didn't get along well. She lived with me for 18 years and I loved her very much. But we fought often and she simply didn't understand much of what I did or who I was. Even though she, herself, was an artist, she felt my art and writing was a waste of time. She also eternally thought of me as being 12 years old. She never got past the first chapter of Relativity because she was scandalized that there was A HOOKER (!) in the first chapter. Regardless, we had a lot of good times, and had many good talks; she taught me so much, and exposed me to so many things that make me who I am today. There are so many times I've missed her during the past year, and I really wish she was here now.One Year Today9 months ago in Art Features More Like This
I have decided to do a feature on some of the things she loved, her fandoms, and causes that were close to her heart. I hope you enjoy it.
