Seven boxes, seven days.
Right, so what's all this about? C: Well, this is what I'm calling Spookemon Week, and it's basically like an advent calendar type thing until Halloween. Starting on the 24th I open one of these badly animated beautiful boxes every day until Halloween and reveal the spooky icon inside.
There's also a giant box for Halloween itself, too big to even displayed in this he

:|I'm just really tired of all the kids on here when it comes to auctions and selling/buying.:|2 years ago in Personal More Like This
But what was I expecting from here anyway.
I mean... You don't just go around bidding very high on things as a JOKE.
And then be all like "omg it was a joke I was not expecting to win I can't pay I only have 2 points".
It screws up the whole bidding, making it inaccurate for the other bidders. And it's also TERRIBLY annoying for the seller, having to let things go for much lower bids after.
And two other things while I'm here:
Don't tell people their prices are too expensive.
Don't tell people to not buy things because it's not worth it.
Man, I'm tired of this.
And now don't tell me to sell things on FA instead, I'm trying. But I'm still new on there and it's very hard to sell things, it's just not worth it for me at the moment.

Anorexia Nervosa“Anorexia isn't about being fat, it's about having fat.” ― Caroline Kettlewell, Skin GameAnorexia Nervosa1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Anorexia nervosa has the highest rate of mortality of any psychological disorder.
The literal meaning of the word “anorexia” is the lack of appetite. However, people with the eating disorder anorexia nervosa do not, in fact, lose their appetite at all. Anorexia nervosa is most closely characterized by a person’s extreme reduction of food intake—starving themselves to become thin. Not only is this a serious health condition, but it’s a severe psychiatric disorder as well. Those who have been diagnosed with anorexia nervosa have an irrational fear of gaining weight and an unhealthy obsession with having a thin body. People affected by this disorde
Who Cares About the Literature Community?A few days ago we had a chat to discuss community issues and solutions (see the original journal for details). Huge thanks to everyone who came and raised awesome points!Who Cares About the Literature Community?2 years ago in Literature Features More Like This
It took 45 minutes for the volume of talk to max out Sta.sh Writer's character limit and this chat went for two more hours, so I'm just going to summarize the key discussion points, starting with big actionables for CRLiterature and for the community.
I've put the chat stuff lower down as it's denser: the outside bullet is the issue, and the inside bullet is possible solutions (not necessarily in order, each point is really a response to the original issue). There is a lot to think about in there, but feel free to pick and choose the issues you care most about.
Sorry for leaving a lot of stuff out, but I hope you guys are too busy figuring out how best to act on what we discussed to pay too much attention

How To get PublishedOr be Satisfied when You Aren'tHow To get Published1 year ago in Literature Features More Like This
A Beginner's Guide
Poetry publication is awash with literary magazines, internet journals, print-on-demand presses, vanity presses, indie presses, and major publication houses. So many options! It's a lot to navigate. But before we delve into the 'How-To's,' it's important to understand the 'Why.'
I'm talking about the the Big Why, the biggest WHY after 'Why write poetry?' Which is, of course, 'Why are you publishing your poetry?'
"BECAUSE!" I hear you shouting.
But that's not the best answer. You'll be happier, or at least more content with the results of the following advice if you understand your motivations behind the urge to publish. What specifically do you hope to achieve?
How to Succeed in Poetry Without Really Trying
If, for example, you want your poems out in the world, in a place people might read them; if you want to be able to say that you're a published poet; if you're not feeling great a

OMG its an Asian!I don't know if you guys know this but Im actually an Asian living in Australia. And there's always something from my family that ticks me off, and it's how they always view themselves as an outsider living in a foreign country. My father especially, would always say 'We Asians bla bla bla' and 'The westerners bla bla bla'. Nothing too racist but always drawing a line between the Asians and everyone else who doesn't have black hair and HD widescreen eyes. Very often we would be watching something random on TV and as soon as there's an Asian or mention of Asian, my parents would turn into meerkats sitting right up and bringing their full attention to it. They would be like "OMG its an Asian!" and try to listen closely, sometimes even turning the volume up to find out what is going on. Like as if to find out whether the Aussies are making fun of the Asians. And when there's an Asian in movies, even just a not important character who only appears in the movie for 5 minutes, my dadOMG its an Asian!1 year ago in Personal More Like This

Artist's block might not fit exactly into the "Artist's Toolbox" week, but we all know about it, we all have probably
experienced it, and we all hope it will never come our way again.
When a person is sick in body, eating is sometimes the LAST thing we want to do. But it is necessary to speed our way
to recovery. In the same way, the ideas I would like to set before you may seem like trying to eat something
when you are sick...but these steps may hasten the end of your artist's block. :iconimdeadplz:
And really, you have nothing to lose in trying these suggestions!
1. Put DOWN your instrument of art...paintbrush, pencil, pen etc...and go O

Miyazaki vs OtakuIn case you haven’t heard this, renowned Japanese animation icon Hayao Miyazaki was quoted as saying that the reason the anime industry is suffering is because it’s overrun with “otaku.”Miyazaki vs Otaku1 year ago in Personal More Like This
You can read the full article here: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2014-01-30/miyazaki/the-problem-with-the-anime-industry-is-it-full-of-otaku
Naturally, such a high profile artist such as Miyazaki coming down hard on Otaku has offended a lot of people and a bit of backlash has sprung up because of it. I’d like to try and reassure some of you that it’s not as bad as it might sound, and here’s why (please keep in mind this is from an American perspective).
“Otaku” in Japan is (or was) an offensive word, usually embodying the worse traits of obsessive basement dwelling collection completing socially inept geeks. It gained widespread negative connotations after the 1989 “Otaku Murders” carried out by Tsutomu Miyazaki (which are to
