She raised her palms to the sky, fingers spread, and sunk her toes into the earth. Heat-filled particles of light warmed her face and the moist cool matter softened her toes. This was life and she relished in its glory.
Nature was her mother and the ruler of the cosmos was her father. She imagined herself as a tree, her feet diving down into the rich folds of the earth, planting their roots, while her fingers extended to the heavens forming into a million branches. Leaves and flowers exploded from her branches as they begged for the gift of light from the sun.
She walked in beauty. From where she stood, a gathering of red poppies reached to her gently brushing against her calf, begging to feel her touch. She leaned forward caressing the petals with the tips of her fingers and the flowers gently kissed her face in return. She laughed. She had always imagined that poppies would make for extremely faithful friends, providing every comfort and need in times of despair, but they would alway

Letting out a grunt you through your hands up in the air before resting them behind your head, your eyes locking in a dead gaze with the tree before you; its bark scratched and scarped from your knives. How the hell did Jeff do this, it was like trying to get a frog to fly. IMPOSSIBLE! Well, clearly it wasn't impossible you had seen the killer do it time and time again, throwing his knives into surfaces. Now all you needed to do was learn how to do that too.
“Damn knives, why won't you stick!” You grunted, letting your hands fall at your sides as you made your way over to pick up the blades you had been practicing with. Where had you gotten blades you asked? You...borrowed them...yea...without asking. OK you stole them from Jeff's room, but if you had asked he would have either said no on the spot or offered his help and then proceed to rub your own stupidity in your face when you failed.
So, you were going to teach yourself.
The Killing of the DayThey've been parading through the streets,The Killing of the Day3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Passing guns like trophies;
All the cities rejoice away
For the killing of the day.
These crowds may dance without thinking,
But even now I dare to say that
Truth can be lost
In the metal and the dust.
And heroes are made out of mortal sinners,
For the widows have need of a saviour.
Worshipping for a while, until, tired of the shallow consistency,
We rise up against our own strategies.
And so begins the revolt of minds.
In anger, we murder the pets of our past,
All the while, forgetting
That an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.
Fallen men are fallen men, yet still it stands to reason
If, all in the name of "freedom",
Hearts and homes have bled and died,
Can killing still be justified?
The Particular Sadness of Pomegranate Seeds IVBegrudgingly he closed Persephone’s door. He did not wish to part with her, but he knew it was too soon. “Hades, who is that girl?” Hecate approached him as he locked Persephone’s door, taking one last moment to linger in future memories yet to be made.
“Persephone, I brought her here to marry me.” She was just as he imagined: full of life and love. She was always dancing, joyously, with her multitude of flowers and trees bowing to her. The sunlight, all at once, radiated from her skin as she absorbed it. He could not picture a woman more suited to his tastes and desires than she. She would be his goddess. She would bring life to the Underworld. She would all at once rule over death and life—with him at her side. He would know

Elle and Mias: Chapter 77This storm wasn't helping Mias think. In fact, it was making it harder to think. If he had his powers it would be all too easy to cast a sound barrier, but alas he couldn't. He'd sit in various spots for a few minutes: his bed, the chair, at the desk in his study, only to get up and pace for another few minutes before trying to get comfortable in a different seat. He currently paced before his fireplace, the embers still glowing softly but slowly fading out as they had no new fuel to consume. They sizzled out completely when the windows blew open, letting in the wind and rain and a certain cloaked man.Elle and Mias: Chapter 772 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

Elle and Mias: Chapter 58Abernos hummed a happy little tune to himself as he road through the old farming village on his way home from East Port City. In place of his usual loincloth, he wore a shirt, vest, and trousers. His hair had been combed back, but the wind on his journey had already blown it back to its normal style. His chipped horn had grown back enough for the damage to be unnoticeable at a glance, but the symmetry of the points remained off. He didn't mind it though. "Bit sad ya haven't been to see me lately, love."
"It has been a while since I stopped in for a drink, hasn't it?" Abernos scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.

In her second trimester of her pregnancy (y/n) couldn't help but take in the changes her body was going through. She was not feeling embarrassed by her growing belly, she was happy. Her child was growing in her and in a couple more months she would be a mom. Though she didn't feel bad about her belly, she knew she had to cut down on what she ate, not only because of the weight gain that came with it, but also because she knew it was freaking her partner out. She couldn't but smile as the memory of her eating pickles dipped in peanut butter and her husband looking at her with disgust. She couldn't help it, it was very delicious!
She no longer felt any morning sickness, which in her opinion was the best part of this stage of her pregnancy, but where one pain was gone another rose, one she would gladly take over in place of the vomiting. The back aches were a pain, but her lover and his magic hands always helped her, and sometimes it led to some thing more.

Snapping awake in the dead of night, I hear him. He's calling to me again but the tone has changed. What a wonderful voice; soft and melodious like a song. Its not even real. Its in my mind.
Nonetheless, I go to him. After looking into the abyss for too long, something has finally returned my gaze.
Still partly in a dream state, a small scared voice screaming in protest, I dress quickly and leave out the back door with the distinct feeling that I'll never return again, at least not the same.
A colossal force is shifting on my behalf. Its cold intellect throbs like clockwork in my skull.
The wind is breathless with anticipation and sentinel oaks and other trees are like ink paintings against the icy sky. I don't know why I'm listening. It is a bad thing to do. The old me wouldn't approve. But its...so wonderful. Surely something that puts off such soothing vibes doesn't deserve

"It's just after dawn!" Thomas said, sitting beside her on the narrow bed.
Elle sighed, tugging the thin sheet more tightly around her shoulder. She had made it a habit to sleep as late as she could, not because she was depressed, she assured herself, but because it meant less time spent anywhere near Elias, and more time spent devising a plan.
"Why on Earth are you waking me up so early?" Elle asked, just as a deafening BOOM rocked the ship.
Elle shot up in the bed, grabbing Thomas protectively around the shoulders. "What the hell was that?" She shrieked.
Thomas laughed. "It's alright Miss, just a signal shot to let Tearny know we intend to make port."

"Not when it's this cold out," he trotted to catch up with her. "Speaking of optimism, you have an interestingly high degree of confidence Miss Viola."

A breath of healthy wind blew past her face and Elle found her heart nostalgic for her homeland, for only a moment. The air was crisper, cleaner than the polluted clouds that too often hung over England and brought only gray weather. Here the sky was bright blue with hardly any clouds reflecting in the crystal clear water.
It seemed almost mysterious for a place to hold such beauty while supporting a populous Elle would guess numbered in the tens of thousands. Wooden docks outlined most of the shore line as Ares trotted into the city along the coastal road. Facing the docks were several two and three story buildings whose ground floors all seemed to be devoted to business. Elle's teeth pinched at her bottom lip as Mias' lips trailed hot kisses all across the exposed flesh of her neck and chest, all of which felt incredibly hot. She felt so flustered, and the words were not even able to form inside of her head, let alone out loud. One of her hands was squeezing his shoulder; the other was pressing the open skirt between her legs against the seat of the bench, denying Mias any entry he may have been planning. Of course it was all very lovely there was no denying it- and incredibly distracting, but there was something across the way that her curious mind could not help but notice. Squinting her eyes accordingly, she realised that there was a small wooden door, almost entirely overgrown with the sweet pea and ivy only the outline and rusted metal handle were visible at first glance.

Mias is dead.
She felt a sharp twisting in her chest at the very thought, and she wanted nothing more than to crumple to the floor and cry. She looked towards the island, only able to see the outline of the cliffs and the glimmer of waves as they drifted onto the shore. Elle wanted to hurl herself over the side of the ship, to swim back to Mias and hold him in her arms one last time. But she knew there would be no point in it, that all the wishing and crying, all the promises and kisses in the world would never bring him back. All she could do now was hope that Mias knew what she felt for him. That his love for her was matched by her love for him.
