i feel like i mentioned this, but i may have just told a few people, but im making sailor moon cosplay accessories to eventually sell at anime cons and online.
so this was made out of sculpey. it took forever. i decided to start with the eternal brooch since it is probably the most difficult to make. i told myself, sean if you can make this, you can make any of them. it took two tries, but i think it came out nicely.
i already made a cast and now im playing around with different ways to do the resin. i think ill just do it clear and then do a light coat for the gems so they have a translusentish feel to them. solid gems dont look as good.
Since I haven't made a tutorial on these I thought I should go into how I made them a bit.
1st thing is I used tin foil (yes tin foil) to make the shape and then stuffed the inside with newspaper. I then taped around the outside with tape before spray painting it dark grey and glue gunning the bottom onto a thick alice band. The rest was just a thick sash to cover up the edges and wrap my head.
Cause I was bored, and started playing with makeup. I ended up painting half of my body in blue. The chest part , I did in a hurry because I was already tired of it. That's why it doesn't look very good.
Used the same blue light from my Phazon corrupted Samus pictures. Cheap wig, but... What do you think?
A pic I did not long after finishing my Hive Tyrant. Found a use finally for the Necron Warrior that's looking up!
In the pic is my Hive Tyrant, Zoey, Lil' Nasty, a Hormagaunt, Gary Goyle and a Frag Spore Mine on the Tyranid side.
The Necron side has a Warrior and a Pariah in it.
Slightly outnumbered, but that's how Tyranids work so well!!
