there was a girl who wasn't quite a princess
and a boy who was far from a prince
they said they fell in love, but
i never believed them.
and once upon a time
that boy almost broke that girl's heart
but she wouldn't let him.
they said they didn't love each other, but
i never believed them
once upon a sometime
the girl forgave him and there they remained.
she called them friends, while
he called them friends with benefits, but
i never believed them.
once upon a time later
he fell in love again and had his bit of heartbreak
and she cried for his pain like it was her own
she said she only loved him as a friend, but
i never believed her
once upon a time after
she hurt him with his own heartbreak, perhaps
in vengeance for her own, and so
he said he didn't love her anymore, but
i never believed him.
once upon a now
i still don't believe him.

the shadows were all angles.
I was more focused on the moth,

AnorexiaYou are going to starve yourselfAnorexia9 months ago in Songs & Lyrics More Like This
You are going to slowly disappear
Your skin will turn pale and your hair will fall off
You teeth will start to rattle whenever you cough
Your fingers will be needles
And your flesh will dry out
You will slowly fade away and your life will go too
Your clothes will never fit and your fears will come true
You are nothing but skin and bones
Like all the other super model drones
Your stomach will become an acid filled hole
No matter how long you diet you will never feel whole
And everyone around you will stare in dismay
Nobody but you know why you turned out this way
And nobody but you will think it is ok
It doesn’t matter what you say
This is an argument no one can win
For people want you healthy but you want to be thin
And so you shall by throwing food away
Losing more and more weight starving day by day
Lose all of your mass until you are gone
And then you will know all the bullies have won

He's an evil one
With eyes of a dozen
And his legs of none
His mouth is a tunnel
And his teeth are knives
Bloody and crooked
Able to chew lives
His body is slimy
The claws are his nails
Spikes on his back
And covered in scales
Yet he slithers his way
Under their small little beds
Waiting for the time
As they lay down their heads
The perfect meal
One easy to catch
Once finished with one
He moves to the next
The joy of the screams
The smile of the tears
The taste of the blood
The laughs of the fears
You see it's all just a game
For Mr. Squamosa Lumaca
Only he may win
For that is his law
So keep yourself safe
And your little ones too
Because in the darkness of night
He could go after you

lacking the natural juices
produced from your kisses;
and my ears echoed your
sweet words over and over,
bitterly reminding my heart
that you're gone.
Can You Guess Who I Am?I have a little problemCan You Guess Who I Am?1 year ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
My head is made of wood
My brain is non existent,
I’d change it if I could.
My body’s made of wood too,
It’s hard to move around,
But if I do, I kinda make
a nasty clomping sound.
I don’t seem to have hearing.
Or have eyes that can see,
And yet I do not wish,
To be anyone but me.
Yes, really I am quite content,
Though I know I am a freak,
Immobile and non-sensing,
Without the means to speak.
But now and then a higher hand,
Waves above my head,
And magically I come to life,
No longer am I dead.
Who am I you may well ask.
Does anybody know?
I really cannot lie to you,
For my nose will surely grow.
Glass Half FullWe have a new cat now.Glass Half Full1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
She streaks through the house
and sleeps in your old beds,
watching me from the rocking chair
as I habitually seek you out.
She's sweeter than you--
she sits in my lap
and plays with my fingers,
doll-faced and docile
against your angular independence.
I still search for you
amongst the cracks in my heart
as you slip like sand
deeper into the dark recesses
of my faulty memories.
I am always afraid
that my tears will ruin the circuitry
through which I access
our sunny afternoons and quiet nights,
and you will slip beyond me.
I did not hope for an afterlife
until I ran my fingers through your cold fur,
and understood why people find solace
in broken hymnals and new beginnings;
I miss my pessimism.
