The weather is glorious here today (SF Bay Area). I went to a Soul Food restaurant for lunch, i had jambalaya and peach cobbler for dessert.
Now...If you were in my home, you will be served a slice of Tiramisu birthday cake, coffee, iced mocha drink, or freshly squeezed lemonade, of course the table is decorated with lots of flowers from my garden.
We all LOVE candy apples right? i know i do and have made many over the years. However one of the biggest problems has always been the shells of the candy apples are too hard to bite into and they are difficult to store.
Here is my twist on the candy apples that i was asked to help out for a local kindergarten class's upcoming Halloween party (the teacher asked me "Can i make them fun?"....I hope you like the result as much as i do!
I've included all three stages on how to make this. I used the cream cheese icing, then add lavender food coloring. Use a pastry brush to apply the icing on apples. You can also use store-bought ready-made icing. Sprinkle your favorite cake sprinkles on the apples. Easy storage and no sticky fingers. The apples are from my garden.
My kids does not like crust on their cheesecakes and they like homemade cake icing on their cheesecakes (i know, such hard life for them...right lol). A thin layer is all you need, because the cheesecake is quite rich!!
Green food coloring was added for the cheesecake part.
Each year, when strawberries/berries are in season, i look forward making jams, my fav has always been strawberry jam! What you are looking at was my breakfast this morning, i thought i would take a pic of it, and share it with y'all...
Easy, delicious and a very attractive dessert, how?
Here is a link for the basic panna cotta, or use your own fav recipe - www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kfssC… I added some organic strawberry flavoring and a dash of pink food coloring. Use your favorite mold or a cup, any container will do! I am going to serve this dessert with strawberry Oreo Cookies.
Dark Chocolate Mousse with a touch of Mocha Mousse in the middle, then topped with whipped cream. Super easy to make, all you need are the ingredients, some time and patience (waiting for each layer to set)
To make this pattern, set your glasses on slant. You can skip this step, personally i like the aesthetic, so i don't mind it...
