One of the wagon wheels caught on the edge of the ramp leading down to the lair and in his frustration Don gave the handle a hard yank. Don recognized his mistake a split second later when the entire heavily laden wagon came careening down towards him.
A leap took Don out of its path and the wagon rolled past him, shooting halfway across the lair as it gained momentum. Then one of the wheels popped off and the out of balance wagon tilted to one side, spilling part of its load before smashing into a wall.
Don looked at the mess in dismay. He’d just spent several hours at the junkyard collecting the parts he needed to make some necessary household repairs and he was tired. No one had wanted to go with him, so loading and hauling everything had been a one turtle chore.
He’d managed to find the parts he needed to fix the oven, to repair the lights in the dojo, to replace the van’s radiator, and an assor

Don is our glue.
Raphael sank deeper into his perch on the rooftop, Leo's sentence circling his mind endlessly. They'd fought and yelled not an hour ago, but Raphael had been struck dumb when Leo had let those words slip.
Donnie was angry at him- probably still was, considering he'd lazily watched Donnie piece together the elaborate glass and tubes set-up for weeks. Donnie wasn't always the perfectly quiet nerd they accused him of; that was only a joke shared by them all, a light teasing because they each knew what a sleeping dragon their genius brother could be.
And boy had he done it today. Worse, Donnie had completely blamed him, while Mikey grinned and giggled and got away scot-free because Raph had broken the stuff. Mike, who launched him into the crazyass experiment was still at home, drinking sodas and playing games, stretched out on the couch all by himself.

"He's not breathing! Donnie's not breathing!"
April opens her eyes and thankfully the images disappear as she focuses on the ceiling's peeled paint over her bed. She sighs in exasperation at what is now the fifth time she's had to stop her own thoughts and waits a couple of minutes, giving her mind some time to calm down before she tries closing her eyes again.
Just go to sleep already.
But the pictures are soon back and the scene repeats itself: the turtles lying helpless around her, their lives slowly drained from them until she can barely even tell they're still alive. And Donnie... Donnie sprawled limp on the floor, his chin resting on his plastron, the lapse between breaths getting longer and longer until she suddenly realizes she hasn't seen him breathe in… How long?
She looks up at the other turtles. Yes, Leo's breathing, barely. Raph too. And Mikey… yes, Mikey too. She turns her attention back to Donnie, watching intently. His chest is as motionless as if he
TMNT- Infected (fanfic) Scarred and battered by their previous encounter with their new-found nemesis, The Shredder, the turtles returned to the depths of the leaky, sludgy sewer that they blissfully called home. Of course, it was a sewer and everything-- meaning that it certainly wasn't the cleanest place in the world. Though it was the turtles' sanctuary, it continued to serve its intended purpose: cycling and recycling the city's flushed away sewage and feces. Constantly, the sewer floor was dripping wet-- filmed with unsanitary toilet water and leaking, crashed car oil that would seep through the manhole covers on the city's surface. Not to mention how poor the insulation was, and how the boys in green had to endure the harsh wind as howled through their living room during the winter season. Considering this, along with his open wounds and weak immune system, it would only be too easy for Donatello to become susceptible to the contraction of high-risk diseases.TMNT- Infected (fanfic)3 years ago in General Fiction More Like This

Donatello was pretty sure that he was meeting his first true maniac.
From the way Raph’s eyes lit up at seeing the older boy’s getup, Don deduced that his hot headed brother had found a kindred spirit. Leo did not look as pleased; his silent contemplation of the youth was cautious at best.
Mikey flitted around their new acquaintance like a hummingbird, questioning and touching, pushing and poking. Somehow the annoyed look on the human’s face at the youngest turtle’s antics was very satisfying to Don.
In fact, their introduction to Casey Jones was met in characteristic fashion by each of the brothers with the exception of Donatello. He should have been curious and inquisitive, but instead Don was distrustful and wary.
Attempting to analyze his reactions to the stranger, Don had to admit that it was the way they were meeting the boy that had raised his hackles.
It wasn’t just that Jones was a vigilante, or that he h

Growing up there had always been something to do. Survival dictated constant movement, perpetual planning, and continual vigilance. Between the times spent hunting for items they might be able to use and for food that was edible, the turtle brothers had trained, both physically and mentally.
Those few precious periods of downtime when they weren’t actually sleeping had been devoted to play or in Donatello’s case, study. He had always been inquisitive and his agile mind relished every source of information he could get his hands on. Be it books, magazines, newspapers, or even brochures and flyers, Don would read every line of text avidly.
There had been no boredom for the purple banded turtle and no tedium. It was only since the Kraang invasion that Don had been required to learn to deal with the one thing he found distasteful – waiting.
Of the various definitions of ‘wait’ that Don had found in his dictionary, the one

Raph was in an irritable mood.
Summer had a strangle hold on New York City and its inhabitants were sweltering. Although the lair usually maintained a fairly even temperature due in part to its location and in part because of the crystals, for the past couple of days even their home wasn’t immune from the oppressive heat.
Don had set up fans that he’d scavenged and repaired but all they did was move the hot air around. Somehow Master Splinter appeared cool despite the temperature and just because his sons were uncomfortable, he hadn’t let up on them in practice.
Mikey had made a desultory offer afterwards to cook eggs and bacon for breakfast but the idea of further heating the kitchen didn’t appeal to anyone. It was bad enough that Master Splinter and Leo still insisted on hot tea and that the coffee pot percolated happily on the counter so that Don could have his morning fix.
Raph swore he could tell that those things increased the t

58. Kick in the Head
Don woke up on a cold stone floor, feeling as though he’d received a good hard kick in the head.
It was pounding steadily as he pushed himself off of the floor and looked around. He was locked in a cell very similar to the one he’d helped Mr. O’Neil escape from, so his guess was that they were trapped somewhere beneath the TCRI building.
They. His painfully aching head cleared enough for him to remember the last thing that had happened before he lost consciousness. Something that felt like the shock from a lightning bolt had hit him as he was carried through the opening in the side of the Kraang’s headquarters. Casey was still clinging to him at the time and must have been shocked into unconsciousness as well.
Casey wasn’t in the cell with him and Don frantically rushed to the door, pulling at it before looking through the narrow set of bars that served as a window. If Casey was knocked out while they

Small info bubble, since I want to write a rewrite of my TMNT – Frozen story, and I couldn't really come up with a better way to introduce the ice powers I decided to put some of it in here, I hope that's okay.
And I'm kinda growing tired of writing so I might take a small break after I finish this story, just so you know that too. So it will be this chapter, and one epilogue after this one. Good right? I hope you like

Given proper warning, I am very good at concealing my emotions or inner thoughts. Sad to say, sometimes I even pride myself on this fact when sensei is lecturing me on forgetting to eat, or Leo is glaring at me for making a misstep in training.
But when Raph walked into the garage and stood in front of me, waiting, I couldn't help but glance up in surprise.
"H-Hey Raph." I tried to smile, but I'm sure it looked off. "I was, um, hoping we could talk."
"Yeah." He kicked a stool over and sat in front of me, and I squirmed in my chair. I hated this feeling; I was never uncomfortable around Raph. Leo, and even Mikey, yes; but never Raph.
Solid, dependable Raph that I had scarred so badly without knowing it.

Even though Mikey had been sweet- amazingly so- I still didn't sleep more than a few hours that night. What little I did get was restful, at least. I always slept better with someone beside me, and I had the added bonus of Mikey holding me so tightly in his arms all night.
It was comforting, but after an hour of lying awake, I had to get up and do something. Anything. Although after an hour of calibrating the new laser I'd built for myself last Christmas, I realized that losing myself in work wasn't making the ache any less.
And I ached miserably. A hurt that no pain medication in my (admittedly large and varied) cabinet would help. It was so hard to not sit there and repeat Why why why, but I forced myself to at least form constructive questions and sentences. Don didn’t have much time to enjoy the revelation that April thought she might like him as more than just a friend. As much as he would have preferred to stay in bed with her, it was prudent that she leave his room before anyone realized they’d fallen asleep together.
Although the situation was completely innocent, it would be best not to have to convince anyone else of that fact.
After checking that the coast was clear, April left Don’s bedroom a couple of minutes before he did. Once he was sure she’d had time to duck into her own room, Don headed towards his lab.
Halfway there and thinking that they’d lucked out in not being seen Don was startled by the sound of rattling paper and spun around. Perched atop the pinball machine was Mikey, a comic book in one hand and a wide grin on his face. Staring at him for a second, Don wondered if his younger brother ever slept.

A full second of silence passed and Don quickly opened his eyes. The screw, which had sounded incredibly loud in his ears when it hit the ground, hadn’t drawn the attention of the Kraang.
They began to separate in order to continue the search for their escaped captives and Don murmured a silent invocation that none of the Kraang would see the loose screw on the floor. The screw was kicked by one of the bots as they started to move and Don held his breath as it skittered across the floor, but once again it went unnoticed.
By the time the Kraang disappeared from Don’s view the screw was resting in a crevice against one of the walls. With any luck, it would remain unseen to any other search parties who made their way down the corridor.

April O’Neil had never liked her freckles. She had so many splattered on her face thanks to her pale complexion when she was younger and had been severely bullied by them. The red head shuddered as she remembered those days.
It was when she wore glasses and had braces. Her freckles were just the icing on top. She recalled how they called her ‘pizza face’ and joked about how ‘somewhere in Africa, a cheetah was missing its spots.’ The worse was when someone joked that God had sneezed all over her face when she was a baby. It mortified her for years.
After being so badly teased, the teen made it her goal to have little to no freckles at all. If she went outside, she lathered on sun block. She wore hats. She did everything to keep the sun from creating more damned spots on her face.

His older brothers hadn’t been fighting as far as he could tell, so Mikey telling him to leave them alone made absolutely no sense. As the family’s designated physician, Don had a duty to care for Leo’s injury, no matter what other things might be going on.
He was so pre-occupied that when he stepped into the lab it took him a minute to notice that Leo was seated on a table with Raph standing between his legs. A box containing medical supplies was open on the table next to Leo, and their bloodied masks lay on the floor by Raph’s feet.
When he neared his brothers, Raph’s arm shot straight out at him, palm showing. His eyes however remained glued on Leo.

April O'Neil could wear anything and still look like a goddess. She could probably wear scraps and still look like a model in some pretentious magazine Donatello honestly had no interest in. But it was the honest truth in how he felt about her and all he could see when she filled his vision.
Although, there was one outfit that she had that made him lose his mind that she only wear for special occasions. Honestly, it was nothing fancy and she had joked many times that she had gotten said outfit from a thrift store downtown for cheap, but that didn't stop it from driving him wild.
It was her little black dress, just a tiny, simple thing that hugged her figure perfectly and came down a few inches above her knees with a single strap that wrapped itself around the slender arch of her shoulder.
The dress itself had no other designs embedded into the fabric. No bows or special stitches and extra frills like other dresses had...it was simple and sophisticated, just like April. Just the way he
