I've been asked to write a tutorial on skinning foobar2000, because many f2k users encounter difficulties modifying skins or simply using them. I'm not an expert on the subject, I've started by installing a few skins and trying to understand how that worked ; I still think it's the best way to get a good handle on it, though a long and sometimes frustrating way. I invite you to try and see by yourself, to keep in mind that errors come all along and to share any advice, question, difficulty or anything you want to say, may you be new or expert. I also recommend to read this good tutorial (though it's partly based on outdated PanelsUI), maybe this less developed one, some of the very useful Hydr
Your personality type: INFP (Turbulent variant).INFP personalities are true idealists, always looking for the hint of good in even the worst of people and events, searching for ways to make things better. While they may be perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy, INFPs have an inner flame and passion that can truly shine. Comprising just 4.5% of the population, the risk of feeling misunderstood is unfortunately high for this personality type – but when they find like-minded people to spend their time with, they’ll truly feel at home.Your personality type: INFP (Turbulent variant).1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Being a part of the Diplomat (NF) personality group, INFPs are guided by their principles, rather than by logic (Analysts), excitement (Explorers), or tradition (Sentinels). When deciding how to move forward, they will look to honor, beauty, morality and virtue – they are led by the purity of their intent. INFPs are proud of this quality, and rightly so, but not everyone understands the drive behind these feelings, and it can lead to isolation.

My 3d Character Art for Games video tutorials! In collaboration with CGCircuit, a new site that allows you to monetize your own instructional content, I just released the first two videos in my four part series about 3d Character Art.My 3d Character Art for Games video tutorials!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
You can find the videos here:
VOLUME 1: Introduction & High Res Modeling Theory - ~1.5 hours - FREE
VOLUME 2: High Res Modeling Application - ~2 hours - $6.99
VOLUME 3: Modeling for Games (Retopo, UV, Baking) - COMING SOON!
VOLUME 4: Texturing and Model Presentation - COMING SOON!
My intention is to create instructional content for the aspiring character artist who already knows the basics, but still struggles with getting professional results. My hope is to elaborate more on the artistic side of character art rather than showing technical tricks (although there will be some of that as well).
I've spent a lot of time putting these videos together myself, and the last two are in the works

WISDOM NUMBER THREE!!! Work smart and leave your comfort zone. This part is my qualifier for art school, tutorials, and educational resources in general, because they can be good, but only if you make them good. Once you've gotten in to the habit of drawing consistently, it's important to start being mindful of what you're drawing, how you're drawing it, and why you're drawing it. A key ingredient of success is hard work, but if that work isn't purposeful it might not move you
Advice for Aspiring Artists Pt. 2Here's the continuation of yesterday's journal discussing the importance of hard work. If you missed it, click here!Advice for Aspiring Artists Pt. 22 years ago in Personal More Like This
In part two I'm gonna talk about one of the biggest roadblocks I hear from artists who are having difficulty getting in to good study habits, so without further ado...
WISDOM NUMBER TWO!! Don't wait for perfect weather and stop making excuses. So often I hear things like "I don't want to waste paper" or "I don't know what to draw" or "I haven't found a good tutorial" or "I don't want to study perspective" or any number of things along those lines. I'll be blunt and just put the answer out there now: get over it. If you want to be an artist, you have to do the work, end of story. And with all the time you've spent thinking, wondering, being uncertain, and searching for that magical art secret of power, you could have filled 10 pages in your sketchbook today and inc

"My name is Marc, my emotional life is sensitive and my purse is empty, but they say I have talent."
In general, talent means the skill that someone has quite naturally to do something that is hard, a high degree of ability that a person was born with. It's hard to argue that some people indeed have more of an inherited talent for arts than others. They are able to get to a certain level rather quickly and get a lot of praise along the way. However, relying on talent will only last for so long, there's a point to be reached when nothing but hard work gets you through.

My Robin Williams storySince we're all sharing... MY ROBIN WILLIAMS memory is when I was working at the Disney/MGM studios Animation (Tour/Studio) in Florida and he came down to take a personal tour of our studio. (He was there for an event/publicity/vacation, can't remember). The tour part of our studio had a film called "Back to Neverland" that he was in and it taught how animation was done. It looped over and over all day long. He got a kick out of the fact that we had to hear him yelling and screaming all day long. At one point, I was shooting at the video animation set up and he came over to see what I was doing. I explained it and he couldn't stop looking at the tour of people going through on the other side of the glass. I explained that we looked at them as "moving wallpaper" an tried not to look at them directly. Not Robin. He was on stage and he immediately found a crazy hat to put on and was running around the place. Robin Williams exuded joy and its sad to hear it wasn't always in his heartMy Robin Williams story1 year ago in Personal More Like This

So here goes. This is The Picture Book Project! We plan on taking these months to compile a book of pictures of you Rangers with birthday cards for Vic and send the huge old book to him for his birthday!!
The Book will have a few Rangers per page, with a little note from their Rangers about 300 words in length, the picture itself will be a picture of one of you guys/or a whole group of you guys if you have Ranger friends, holding a big Birthday Card in front for Vic that says “Happy Birthday Vic!” which you guys will custom make.
The great thing about this is that Vic gets to see all of you guys as well as your card, even though many of you live in different countries and places all over the globe. As long as you have a camera, you guys can participate in this. It’s our goal to get as many o

CitruSmoothie Mascot Competition! [ENDED]This competition is over!CitruSmoothie Mascot Competition! [ENDED]2 years ago in Personal More Like This
So, it just hit me the other day that CitruSmoothie needs a new mascot So I thought to make it a competition!
::If you wish to join, this is what you'll do::
Come up with a suitable design for a mascot that you think represents CitruSmoothie (something "fruity" is to be preferred )
Make the design into a model edit
Post a picture with your creation here on DA and comment in this journal with a link to your deviation.
I will personally choose the winner at the end of the competition.
Only ONE entry per DA user please. If you submit several, only the first one will count.
I don't rly care what parts you use (as long as they look good ^^) so if you feel you want to take parts from a "non-editable" model, I seriously wouldn't

But here in german Cosplay scene, and perhaps also for many other countries it's really a novelty.
It can be used for paper decoration, for gemstones, paint and much more.

this is a contest for a character for the "Anima: Gate of Memories" video game.
I will be very clear, there will be NO PAYMENT for any winners here. You enter if you want to do this, and we are in no way trying to scam anyone of doing free work.
What the winner will get out of this contest:
1. the winner's character will be 3D modeled, and put into the game as a character inside the game and story. We will work to incorporate this character into the story, without him or her just standing around for nothing.
2. the winner's full name will be in the credits.
3. This character will be copyrighted primarily to this game, you are allowed to use the artwork for your portfolio, but may be a bit complicated if you want to sell him/her off to a new client. Details of copyright can be discussed with the winner.
What we are looking for:
1. human character in any age or body type, he/she should look like a fa

HappinessHi everyone~ I don't usually post serious stuff on dA, but I've decided to this time because I want to share my growth over the past year.Happiness6 hours ago in Personal More Like This
Around this time last year, my life hit the lowest of lows. I never expected to be here this time this year, posting pics of myself excitedly trying on waterproof mascara for the first time and being able to smile for photos again. So when I look back at this post in future, I want to remember what I'm feeling now.
I'm happy to be able to be proud of myself.
I'm happy to be able enjoy my passions again.
I'm happy to be able to talk to people freely.
I'm happy to be able to trust.
I'm happy to be alive.
I hope whoever is reading this who is in a bad place themselves can know that it is possible to climb out of holes you fall in, no matter how deep they are. I have faith in you to be able to muster up the courage and strength to reach out for help, no matter how useless and hopeless it may seem from where you're standing. Every on
MTT species infoIMPORTANT UPDATE.MTT species info4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Wow. This got out of hand really fast. All of a sudden I have a ton of people making a ton of MTT characters all at once, popping out one right after the other. I really did not want it to turn out this way, these rules were meant to try and cut down on the amount of new MTTs being made, but that didn't work out like I wanted it to at all. Worked quite the opposite. So I'm sorry to say this, but the MTTs are now a closed species until further notice. Only way to get one from now on are adoption contests, which I will be hosting more often. Everyone who has already gotten permission for however many MTTs they asked of me, can still make theirs. Going back on my word like that would be lame. Again, I'm sorry, but I don't want to just wait until the fad blows over. The MTT species will stay closed for a while, but I am not sure how long exactly. Maybe a few months, maybe forever.
And I want to stress this is not because of any one certain person, so anyone
Advice for Aspiring Artists Pt. 1So this has been on my mind a bit lately and I was just struck with the sudden urge to write about it. It's a bit long so I've broken it in to three parts, but if you're a beginning artist I would recommend reading through it, it might just get you aimed in the right direction.Advice for Aspiring Artists Pt. 12 years ago in Personal More Like This
This started a couple days ago when I was trolling facebook and someone had posted some artwork, and one of the comments was something along the lines of "Nice! What tutorial did you use for this?" which prompted an immediate and violent facedesk on my part. I hear things like this all the time and would like to help dispel some myths about learning art; so after 9 years of drawing and 3 years of hardcore education and study, here's what I've learned about how to get better at art:
WISDOM NUMBER ONE! Getting better demands consistent, hard work. That's it. That's the magical secret that great artists never seem to get to in their tutorials; it's that one pivotal thing that makes the difference between
