Addendum: Sam Kane/Redbird/SwiftWhen Sam becomes a hero, he either picks the named "Redbird" out of respect for past aliases of his friends, or "Swift" to have a more unique outfit. He's still more influenced by Nightwing than his brother, Joseph; but is more often at his brother's side than at his mentor's.
If the case is he becomes Swift as a kid, his costume as a kid remains relatively unchained, with perhaps blue replacing the red.
As a teenager, Sam is officially Swift. He choose an outfit that's more like a cross between Ninja Gaiden and Bat-family armor. While most of his arms are bare, he does use reinforced gauntlets. There is a hood attached to the armor for stealth, as well as a scarf with a split end, like a swift's tale. He often brings it up to cover his mouth for stealth, but normally wears it "because it looks cool". He also wears a domino mask. The armor itself is light yet extremely durable, and is molded to Sam's body. As a growing boy, though, Sam needs to make a new set every so often and will us
Extraction from Gotham CityWe begin with Gotham City being in a state of chaos. Gunfire can be heard from afar, the docks are on fire. The Batsignal can be seen through the haze. On top of this is snow.Extraction from Gotham City1 year ago in Short Stories More Like This
Nightwing: *narrating* This is bad. You think you can watch something on the news or hear something from a friend about Gotham City and think its bad. You don't know even HOW bad it really is.
In the smog over the city, we can see a small dark figure.
Nightwing: *narrating* This isn't as bad as the quake, or when the Clench ran through the city, or the Zero Year,or the Night of the Owls; but it's close.
We see Nightwing is the speck, he's on a hang-glider.
Nightwing: *narrating* A gang war has broken out. A big one. Penguin, Black Mask, and the Falcones are at each other's throats; each one blaming the others for inciting it. The Gotham Police can barely keep order, or protect the civilians.
The hang-glider goes over a bridge, armed thugs can be seen below.
Nightwing: *narrating* What's worse, the gangs have pret
Rescue From Falcone'sJoseph Kane is sitting in some sort of supply closet, tied to a chair, looking very pissed. There are two guys standing outside it.Rescue From Falcone's1 year ago in Short Stories More Like This
Guard 1: So why did Mr. Falcone have us kidnap this guy?
Guard 2: Mr. Falcone is trying to get some power back in this town. Bruce Wayne is pushing that gentrification initiative, and that twerp there is one of his VPs and assistants on it.
Guard 1: That guy? He's barely old enough to shave.
Guard 2: He broke Tommy Vito's arm when we grabbed him.
Guard 1: That runt?
Guard 2: Yeah.
Guard 1: Must have been lucky.
Guard 2: Yeah, I pistol whipped the kid and brought him here.
Joseph: Hey, you two, would you mind getting me some reading material? And maybe a sandwich?
Guard 2: Oh shut up! Be glad you still got all your fingers and toes, for now.
Joseph: *narrating* Oh great, those Falcone nuts are going to use me to send a message. Plenty of chemicals I could use to escape...though at the risk of either suffocating, burning myself, or blowing myself up. But fir

"Batman!" Nightwing gasped as he looked towards his former mentor. "It's the missing sixteen hours!"
“Agreed” Batman acknowledged.
Robin—although usually very respectful and obedient—had stuck a small radio device onto Batman’s cape that morning before leaving for Mount Justice.
Because it’s fun to know things before everybody else.
He had heard everything they just said. As he listened in the privacy of his room at the Young Justice headquarters, he mentally and unintentionally brought himself away from the conversation. There was something in the urgency in Nightwing's voice.
Yes—everybody knew about the missing sixteen hours from five years ago. He knew that six key members of the Justice League—including his own mentor—had mysteriously gone off the radar and none of them could recall what they did during that time span afterwards.
He knew about the Justice League turning against them and it took the entire Young Justi
How to make a good OC, avoiding Mary/Gary SuesOk, I've been seeing really crappy OC's (original characters) floating around the place lately. I thought that I could help you guys out here. How to make a good OC, avoiding Mary/Gary Sues2 years ago in Personal More Like This
-What is a original character? It's a fan-made character someone usually makes for a book, show, game, etc that is used as a means to "interact" with the main characters of a book, show, game, etc. Unfortunately, some people get this wrong and their character/self-insert may become a Mary/Gary Sue.
-What is a Mary/Gary Sue? Well....they have the following traits:
-The plot of the book, show, game, etc goes THEIR way (If this only briefly mentions a canon character and is more oc-centric, it's usually ok)
-They have NO weaknesses
-Any and all characters are attracted to them
-They have a TRAGIC past
-They are a long lost relative or are the long lost lover/girlfriend/boyfriend to a character or more
-They die a TRAGIC death
-Every good guy and bad guy likes or loves them
-Immortal, can bring people back from the dead
