considering the small amount of entries I got I will postponed the deadline by one week.

You looked around, nothing was close to what it looked like at your house.. All there was were hummingbirds and eggs.. Everywhere. A voice in your head told you not to touch anything, but you couldn't resist the colored chocolate eggs and feathers. You were always the creative one at your school and in your family. You started to craft things with the feathers and placed an egg at the top. You were suck in this jungle cove. There was no possible way to climb it, because of your sprained ankle. You were running laps as you got run into by someone, you had forgotten about that pain, but when you started to walk you could feel it. So you sat on the grassy ground and looked around, you smiled. You were a loner most of the time, because you didn't like the things girls at you school did. You had gotten used to it and liked being alone. You're eyes started to soften as you saw a lick of golden sand cross your face. You drifted in

It is not difficult and it does not cost a fortune. All you need is a strong will to create, any other problems can be solved
You may find some of the advice written here ridiculous but this is how i began so i'm speaking from experience
- intro over -
If you are a complete beginner i would highly recommend using cheaper metals such as copper, aluminum, anodized aluminum or lacquered copper. You will ruin some to substantial quantity of wire while learning. Don't let that bring you down; it is normal and everyone who makes jewelry has gone through that phase So, unless you are wealthy, get the cheapest wire possible and experiment. Learn how it behaves. If you bend it 3 times will it break? What pressure is the best to hold it tightly without marring it with pliers? I learned on the cheapest wire available so i did not have to think THAT much about the money i was ruining with my failed attempts. You can get these in most craft or
Contest Reminder: Cloud's Birthday Contest!!:iconbummiesplz::iconbummiesplz: ATTENTION SOLDIERS!! :iconbummiesplz::iconbummiesplz:Contest Reminder: Cloud's Birthday Contest!!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
This is Cloud's month!
So we're going to celebrate his up coming bday with another contest
This time the contest is going to be all about Cloud Strife :3 but mostly about Cloud's birthday which is on August 11th and again on August 19th.
(Yeap, he has two birthdays XD)
The name I picked for the theme is the same as last year's which is "Cloud's Birthday Gift" and is basically a contest where you can write or draw a fanart about what will Cloud receive on his birthday.
It can be anything you want :3
- a surprise party,
- a birthday card,
- a cake, etc.
If you want to make a Cloti thing out of it, then it's okay too but remember, you must stick to the birthday theme.
Only 1 entry per person.

✿ Watercolor Equipment
Watercolor is a painting technique in which the paints are made of pigments suspended in a water-soluble binder. Usually, the result is transparent and appear luminous because the pigments are laid down in a relatively pure form with a few fillers obscuring the pigment color. This medium was never taken as seriously as "high art" techniques such as oil painting and was rather seen as pale and miniaturist, but it's gradually reclaiming it's place as a vehicle for the most beautiful and unexpected artistic expression. Watercolor can be vibrant and large, very vital, spontaneous and leaning a little on luck. All these aspects make watercolor painting a medium with great potential for new discoveries.

Ten Tips for Nature PhotographersThis article came about after a deviant specifically requested that we write ten clear, simple tips for Photographing Nature. Troubleshooting articles and information can be very useful, but sometimes breaking it down into manageable memorable chunks is so much easier. 1) Get into your environment
Yes, it's rhubarb. To be a true photographer, you must be at one with rhubarb.
When we talk about photographing Nature, we don't necessarily mean wide expansive rolling landscapes. Whilst they contain any number of elements that are nature focused and made up from natural resources - Nature Photography is about getting into your environment and getting up close and personal with these elements. So think of it like you are Photographing the components that make up that beautiful lan

PE: Stock, Resources and deviantART RelatedStock & ResourcesPE: Stock, Resources and deviantART Related2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
I see Stock & Resources as a category of art on deviantART where the entire focus is on helping others and providing them with what they need. This helps artists of any medium! Photomanipulators for example rely heavily on the stock photos they find here. If you draw or paint, digitally or traditionally, many stock photos can be hugely helpful as reference, as can line art and textures. There's literature templates, fonts, fractal and vector resources, designs & patterns for artisans and crafters.. and then there's tutorials for any kind of art, and about deviantART itself.
So one great way to contribute something to the community and your fellow artists is to provide such resources!
We will not go into this in depth as it has its own Community Volunteers and Project Educate weeks that should help you get started!
Short Poem.Well, I wrote this at like midnight Saturday, and with some urging from :iconTalentOfTheWolf:, here it is. Didn't intend it to be public, but oh well. Here's to all the rejects, the misfits, and every dork or dweeb out there who's ever felt lost in their own lives. This is, I suppose, my answer to every (pardon my language) asshat out there who makes someone's life miserable. All you see is how funny your jokes are, but this is what you're really doing. To everyone else, well... Don't be part of the problem. Be the solution.Short Poem.11 months ago in Personal More Like This

Well, when the HLE Contest ended a lot of people were looking forward to the next contest and after the success of the HLE Contest I really wanted to hold another. So, that is what this new spiffy journal is about I chose a nice dark themed one since this contest is going to be for my yangire character Tilt
I had another contest in mind but I decided to hold off on that one till after the book is out. That way people can get to know the other characters a little before drawing them

Ok ok I admit it a little more than basic but its surely no polymer clay tools 101.
(see my Beading 101's)
The good thing on polymer clay tools is... you can invent them .
Seriously take for example a loop tool a tool needed for carving details into clay. Take a paper clip or a hair pin add a handle from fimo scraps cure it and you have made your own. Yep, you can not only get creative with Polymer clay, but as well by making tools, turning things into tools and inventing your own tools just as you need them.
There are basic tools one must have, like the polymer clay blades, an exacto knife, a rolling pin and a (non sticky) working surface. Those are the basic tools everyone must have and should buy to get started.
But everything else? its a matter of your mind getting creative. Like using an old toothbrush for textures (see
DESIGN AN OC CONTEST! Big prizes to be won! CLOSEDHello everyone!DESIGN AN OC CONTEST! Big prizes to be won! CLOSED1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I don't really have a lot of OCs. But what about those which I have? I don't really like to use them when trying out new techniques or practice. Which is why I've decided to host an OC contest. The main goal is simply to create an OC for me!
LAST DAY TO ENTER
This is a list of things I'd like to see in the OC: http://sta.sh/01nqhwlhdjqj
Keep in mind that this is a very long list of random things I like. Don't put all the things possible into one design, I'd rather you pick about three things which you'd like to focus on and not half of the list!
Or check out some designs I've favorited here: http://reblog.deviantart.com/favourites/
Deadline: 4th of November
Might extend it on request or if I have something which might come up at the time. Keep in mind that it's summer now and you might have more free time now than in autumn.
WHY to get noticed on dAThere are tons of articles out there that describe what you should do to get noticed on dA. The advice contained pretty much comes down to "if you are active, people will notice you":WHY to get noticed on dA1 year ago in Personal More Like This
fave other people's art - they might fave yours back
comment on other people's art - they might return the favour
use your comments to actually talk to the other artist; don't just say "wow", but tell them why you liked their art; give critiques
use the chats & forums
use your own journal to its full advantage (tell people about yourself / art features / ...)
take care to make your userpage nice-looking and informative
give out llama badges
find some groups to submit your art to
and don't forget to actually post something to your gallery regularly
While all of this is certainly true (seeing as when you don't put your name - with the attached link to your page - out there, no one will have a chance to find you to begin with), the question that remains for me is:
Why do you

Artists Toolbox: Colored PencilsColored pencils are widely used as a fun and readily available art tool. I'm sure most if not all of us have tried our hand at colored pencils, even if it was only while we were children. While colored pencils may not be as respected as paints such as oil, acrylic or watercolors, colored pencils shouldn't be under-estimated in the impact they can and do have on the art world.Artists Toolbox: Colored Pencils1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
Different Types of Colored Pencils
Wax based colored pencils are probably the most common and readily available types of colored pencils on the market. As with any type of colored pencil, these come in varying qualities and prices.
Oil based colored pencils in my experience are not as easy to find unless you are shopping online or in an art store. These colored pencils are excellent if you are planing on coloring on wood or another similar surface. Blending oil based colored pencils ca

School has been hellishly stressful. Thankfully my boyfriend has been sooo supportive and loving, it's really helped me from pulling my hair out. For those of you that don't know, I'm an animation student and seeing as this is my last year at my university we have to work on our senior project. BUT, it's not just our project they are making us work on but we have to do a gallery display, promoting our gallery show, doing a craft fair, visiting galleries, and a lot more. Which had me wondering, where am I going with my career? What do I really want to do? Would I like to do animation, yes, but that chance is slim. I want to do something with my manips, but that's also slim. Which lead me to creating my own site, joining more social networks, trying to get my work exposed and learning to create book covers and things to sell.
So... since I have no idea w
