When you guys come up to us at conventions and start shaking or crying and explaining, "how much we've done for you" with our weird videos and weird selves, don't you everrr feel like you are wasting our time and you should never ever feel the need to apologize to us for telling us your very personal stories or for crying, or anything! You are never wasting our time, and when you take a moment to talk to us about such personal things that happened in your life, we are honored & it reminds us that we do these silly things not for our own amusement, but for you as well. I say it all the time but you guys keep us going, and I mean it. When you tell us these things, I can't help but want to just take you over to a less crowded area and hug you and cry with you. I'm telling you all of this because I want you all to know that expressing yourself

I met you today 7 years ago and it was love at first sight; married you on the same day 6 years ago and have never once regretted it because I'm still just as in love. If anything, I love you now more than I ever have before and that is a source of great comfort in my life.
You keep me stable and grounded and are my shelter in the worst of times. I need you in my life but more than that, I WANT you in my life because you make everything complete. You really are the sun and the moon in my sky, cliches be damned.
Thank you for tolerating my crazy, curing my sad and always being there when I need you the most. I look forward to growing old with you and having a million cat children and an unpredictable life full of adventure.
So, bravely into the future we go skipping and holding hands all the way.
Happy 6th anniversary.
Your adoring wife
Marceline the Vampire Queen FAQSince I get asked the same questions about this costume a lot, I figured I'd write up an FAQ for interested parties:Marceline the Vampire Queen FAQ5 years ago in Personal More Like This
Q: Where did you get your wig?
A: My Finn made it for me. It was made out of two long wigs-- one 48 inch, one 60 inch. They were purchased on Ebay. I don't know the seller, sorry!
Q: How did you do the makeup?
A: It is Ben Nye Character Series cream makeup in Ghoul Grey (CB-8). It was applied using latex makeup sponges and sealed with Ben Nye Neutral Set Colorless Powder and hairspray. I do not recommend using hairspray unless you have someone helping you apply the makeup.
You can buy it here: http://www.frendsbeautysupplyonline.com/bennyecharacterbasecb-8ghoulgrey.aspx for only $3.40!
Q: How much makeup did you use?
A: Evicted! : Medium Coverage (face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms, hands)
Henchmen: Medium Coverage (face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms, hands)
It Came From the Nightosphere**: Minimum Coverage (face, neck, hands)
Heat Signature: Medium
What doesn't kill you makes you strongerI just went back and read some of the horrible comments I've received from people in the past. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger4 years ago in Personal More Like This
I remember how hurtful it was and how much I wanted to just dissapear from it all. I felt helpless and hopeless.
The internet can be a terrible place.
When people aren't accountable for what they say they feel a certain sense of power. The ability to judge others without being judged ourselves is a position of immense dominance. It's exhilarating to exercise that dominance over another person.
But now, looking back, I realize that it doesn't bother me anymore. I don't even bother hiding, deleting or responding to those comments because it just doesn't bug me. I feel a resounding "eh",
I keep those comments up so that people can see the kind of behaviour that people reduce themselves to when they're behind a computer screen. Every "this is shit" or ""he" is just a dyke and a "she"" has meaning to me now. It means that I've overcome something that I never would have thought possible. I'm not hu

2012- A Year in ReviewJanuary2012- A Year in Review3 years ago in Personal More Like This
The beginning of the year was pretty good. My birthday party was pretty relaxed-- just a short dinner with good friends at one of our favourite restaurants.
My first cosplay of the year was:
Katniss Everdeen from the book trilogy-- The Hunger Games
Hunger Games played a big part in my cosplay life for the first half of the year and I was hoping to be able to end the year with another Katniss costume, but I ran out of time to make it. I was going to do her interview dress as it was described in the book since I was really disappointed with a lot of the costume designs from the movie
I also did the Reaping Dress for Katniss in January.
February was pretty laid back as well. I continued with the Katniss costumes-- doing the Chariot outfit (from the book)
an updated Arena (book) cosplay to Tsukino Con. twinfools and I were only at Tsukino Con for a day. It's actually a really e

We're there to meet people, first and foremost, so if you see us at the con please don't hesitate to come say hello and stick around for a chat, photos, I'LL EVEN DRAW YOU SOMETHING >8D doesn't matter. We love socializing at cons (in fact that's most of what we do at cons haha) so don't feel like you're being a bother ;D We're nice people, I promise and if you feel awkward just remember that I'm probably just as awkward if not more awkward than you. I'm kind of a shit show. So we can be awkward together :3

Thank you for 100 000 Subscribers on YoutubeWe just hit 100 000 subscribers on Youtube and I am floored. It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating 50 000, then 80 000. 100 000 is larger than the population of a number of countries (I LOOKED IT UP XD) I can't believe that you folks have stuck with us and our silly little videos. We've been doing what we love for 6 years now and putting it on camera, I never thought that doing that would make us one of the most subscribed to cosplay-related Youtube channels out there.Thank you for 100 000 Subscribers on Youtube2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The support we've received over the years has been astounding, and I can't thank every single one of you enough for being interested in our cosplays, our videos and our lives. We're not amazing. We're not the best. We're just a bunch of wacky people who love the hobby and the creative/social experiences that it brings. Looking back from where we started I can retrospectively see that we've all come so far, and I feel that our videos reflect not just a growth in our cosplay/video work, but also our growth
Vocaloid JBF Flower Wreath + Ciel lenses, etc.Jin's Flower Wreath ProcessVocaloid JBF Flower Wreath + Ciel lenses, etc.3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Sometime last May, Kat moonlightflight and I cosplayed our favorite Vocaloid song, "Just Be Friends".
Their outfits seem simple at a glance, but that actually makes things more complicated sometimes. Hahah. Despite Luka's dress looking like something you could probably find in a mall, Charmie yaoiangel14 made the dress from scratch exactly as it looked in the artwork, just for Kat moonlightflight. Kat and I also did our best with the part of their outfits that had the most amount of detail (which also happens to be our favorite parts) the flower wreaths.
I have some pictures of the progress of my wreath, so I thought I'd share them. This probably isn't the best method of going about this, but this is how I did mine and I found it pretty easy. (I wish I could have taken more photos or a video, but to be honest I wasn't quite sure I'd pull this off at first. Hahah!)
After AbunaiconWhat a weekend. After Abunaicon3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Kelly and I are finally back home after a very early flight back to London. I have to say, it was all worth it.
Abunaicon was truly fantastic! It was great meeting some of our followers from the Netherlands and pretty much everyone we met was just lovely!
It was a great test run for Gambit (my sclera contacts arrive tomorrow!!) and I've now decided to make a Human!Wheatley cosplay. Ha ha! It will be fun to be an idiotic character again.
Highlights of Abunaicon:
*Judging the Eurocosplay.
*Being chased by Batman.
*Creating world domination plans with the Joker and Harley while dressed as Loki.
*Invading panels and generally being mental.
*Killing Coulson over and over and over and OVER again!
*Squaring off to a certain Hawkeye everytime I saw her.
*ALL THE DESSERTS!!!
*Being told by four people that I look like Tom Hiddleston.
Twas an AMAZING weekend just so tiring. Phew! I really hope we can come back next year and share in all the fun. Now to plan for Alcon!
DREAM SEASON ARTBOOK CONVOCs.ABOUT THE PROJECTDREAM SEASON ARTBOOK CONVOCs.2 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
How the idea came out.
The first idea was to be a project where I would make art to celebrities, based on an art that I saw a while ago for an actor and was so appreciated by this actor that he posted a picture autographed than he sent it back to the artist. After wondering a lot about, I realize that would be too much to dream with autographs of artists and bands that I know, so I asked myself: "what makes them important people to me?" And I understood they all have something in common. They DON'T give up on the dream, however difficult they were. But there's a big detail, the dream also includes other people, others who have not given up their dreams, and that is my point, and this is my project! For those who despite hearing dozens of phrases, dozens of comments discouraged, but still persistent, moving on! This is a project dedicated to you, whether new o
Free! Iwatobi Swim Club cosplay shoot outtakes! When my friends and I first heard of "that swimming anime" called Free!, this is pretty much what we expected:Free! Iwatobi Swim Club cosplay shoot outtakes!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Not that there's anything wrong with that hahah, but all we were expecting was to be able to laugh at how exploitable and full of fanservice this show could be because swimming would require everyone to be half-naked. Although it started out that way, the more episodes we watched, the more we realized...
We were wrong. So wrong.
What we got was a heartwarming coming-of-age story with endearing characters and interesting dynamics. It spoke of friendship and learning your self-worth and figuring out what drives you forward.
I'd write more about how I feel about it but it would take up too much time and space over here, so here are a couple of posts that have already done the job well:
1. A detailed literary analysis and trope driven deconstruction of H

Sakura Con 2013WELL Sakura Con is just around the corner!! 8D I'm really excited that we get to go down to Seattle for Sakura Con this year, because for a while there we were pretty sure that it wasn't going to be possible for us to go at all considering that we have Banzaicon and GCFF/Supanova Expo right after it. But thanks to friends and getting our stuff together we managed to make it work! So many new faces to meet, and so many familiar faces to catch up with 8D I'm looking forward to a nice, chill hang out con.
