Opening Wig Commissions!Hello all!Opening Wig Commissions!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Due to an overwhelming positive response I am opening up wig commissions starting in June! At this point in time I am ready to start taking commissions to order bases for in order for those bases to be here in June so I can start work on them right away
I will be accepting 5 commissions to start.
The pricing will be done on a quote basis, which means that I will assess the price of the commission once I have all of the information on the project. It will factor in base wig cost + materials + work + shipping
To ensure that I can get you the best product possible, I am hoping that people commissioning me will use the following form so that I can know all of your stipulations up front

Devious Journal EntryFIRST OFF, I want to tell you guys something, because it is super important for you to understand this.Devious Journal Entry2 years ago in Personal More Like This
When you guys come up to us at conventions and start shaking or crying and explaining, "how much we've done for you" with our weird videos and weird selves, don't you everrr feel like you are wasting our time and you should never ever feel the need to apologize to us for telling us your very personal stories or for crying, or anything! You are never wasting our time, and when you take a moment to talk to us about such personal things that happened in your life, we are honored & it reminds us that we do these silly things not for our own amusement, but for you as well. I say it all the time but you guys keep us going, and I mean it. When you tell us these things, I can't help but want to just take you over to a less crowded area and hug you and cry with you. I'm telling you all of this because I want you all to know that expressing yourself
Thank you for 100 000 Subscribers on YoutubeWe just hit 100 000 subscribers on Youtube and I am floored. It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating 50 000, then 80 000. 100 000 is larger than the population of a number of countries (I LOOKED IT UP XD) I can't believe that you folks have stuck with us and our silly little videos. We've been doing what we love for 6 years now and putting it on camera, I never thought that doing that would make us one of the most subscribed to cosplay-related Youtube channels out there.Thank you for 100 000 Subscribers on Youtube1 year ago in Personal More Like This
The support we've received over the years has been astounding, and I can't thank every single one of you enough for being interested in our cosplays, our videos and our lives. We're not amazing. We're not the best. We're just a bunch of wacky people who love the hobby and the creative/social experiences that it brings. Looking back from where we started I can retrospectively see that we've all come so far, and I feel that our videos reflect not just a growth in our cosplay/video work, but also our growth
6th AnniversaryCyril U. Winter,6th Anniversary1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I met you today 7 years ago and it was love at first sight; married you on the same day 6 years ago and have never once regretted it because I'm still just as in love. If anything, I love you now more than I ever have before and that is a source of great comfort in my life.
You keep me stable and grounded and are my shelter in the worst of times. I need you in my life but more than that, I WANT you in my life because you make everything complete. You really are the sun and the moon in my sky, cliches be damned.
Thank you for tolerating my crazy, curing my sad and always being there when I need you the most. I look forward to growing old with you and having a million cat children and an unpredictable life full of adventure.
So, bravely into the future we go skipping and holding hands all the way.
Happy 6th anniversary.

Free! Iwatobi Swim Club cosplay shoot outtakes! When my friends and I first heard of "that swimming anime" called Free!, this is pretty much what we expected:Free! Iwatobi Swim Club cosplay shoot outtakes!1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Not that there's anything wrong with that hahah, but all we were expecting was to be able to laugh at how exploitable and full of fanservice this show could be because swimming would require everyone to be half-naked. Although it started out that way, the more episodes we watched, the more we realized...
We were wrong. So wrong.
What we got was a heartwarming coming-of-age story with endearing characters and interesting dynamics. It spoke of friendship and learning your self-worth and figuring out what drives you forward.
I'd write more about how I feel about it but it would take up too much time and space over here, so here are a couple of posts that have already done the job well:

It has been a very full five years of being married, complete with all the ups and downs of most couples, and I don't regret a moment I've spent with you. I still love you as madly as I did when I met you 6 years ago and I hope to love you just as madly for many more years to come.
I love you. I cherish you. I adore you.
Thank you for being with me. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for being my friend, my lover, my life fullfiller -the stars in my heaven.
Thank you for letting me be as cliche as I possibly can towards you lol.
I owe you the world but all I have right now is my love so please accept that with a little iou for the day I can buy a house with you and ride off into the sunset for our happily ever after.

Anime Revolution Review + Avatar VideoAnime Revolution ended a few days ago and I'm still riding that con high! In my opinion it was a stellar con with a really clean and professional atmosphere/vibe. It was the con's first year, but to me it ran (and looked) like a much more experienced con. I've heard a lots of criticism of the con, but not from the people I ran into at the con itself. Everyone I came across seemed to be in really good spirits and had a positive opinion of the con. I know that there are some tensions are Vancouver cons at the moment, but in my opinion the more the better! I'm not going to side with one con or another, to me that'd be silly, I want all the cons to succeed cause if my hometown was con central than I'd never be bored!!! On The Subject of LabelsOne of the recurring comments given in my previous journal was "Why do we need to label ourselves at all?", or words to that effect. There are many of you who believe NO-ONE needs a label. On The Subject of Labels3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I both agree and disagree.
I agree, because I think you're right that we don't need to define to ourselves what we are by putting a label on it. I shouldn't say to myself "I'm gay. Therefore, I only am attracted to women." I think that if, in your head, you have a defined, labelled view of what you are, you start conforming yourself around that label. I'm sure many of you have heard stories of men and women who came out, then later admitted to feeling pressured into staying gay because they'd defined themselves as such to so many people. Conforming yourself around a social definition like that cannot be healthy.
But at the same time, I disagree against the idea that we don't need labels in this world at all. We do need them... we just don't need to place extensive mean
2012- A Year in ReviewJanuary2012- A Year in Review2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The beginning of the year was pretty good. My birthday party was pretty relaxed-- just a short dinner with good friends at one of our favourite restaurants.
My first cosplay of the year was:
Katniss Everdeen from the book trilogy-- The Hunger Games
Hunger Games played a big part in my cosplay life for the first half of the year and I was hoping to be able to end the year with another Katniss costume, but I ran out of time to make it. I was going to do her interview dress as it was described in the book since I was really disappointed with a lot of the costume designs from the movie
I also did the Reaping Dress for Katniss in January.
February was pretty laid back as well. I continued with the Katniss costumes-- doing the Chariot outfit (from the book)
an updated Arena (book) cosplay to Tsukino Con. twinfools and I were only at Tsukino Con for a day. It's actually a really e

Mainly it would result in 100% more videos for you guys, as well as being able to branch out and really dedicate time in production and editing.
This is something I've been talking about with Kelly for a while now, and I have recently (after some serious talk) gained my mothers support in the venture.
However, I can't do it for free. This is where you guys come in.
1) In the last few months of 2012, I plan to push for new designs in the Parlé store. So if you'd like to support us; then please buy a t-shirt or two when they are ready to go!

UK STORE: http://parleproductions.spreadshirt.co.uk
2) Tell your friends about our shows, make your own videos talking about the shows. Do journals and tumblr blogs; anything to get the Parlé name out there and appealing to more people. The more people we get; the more likely this will happen.

(RANT) What it is to be WRONGSo I just got another comment explaining to me how someone's friends are really mean and evil- and how only their cosplay friends act this way, and it's always just in the community… how the community is really horrible and twisted- and people are so friggin mean- and I just want to point out something of relevance and address this because it's really starting to confuse me… just because of this-(RANT) What it is to be WRONG2 years ago in Personal More Like This
It's not 'just your cosplay friends' or 'just the community' it's everyone.
Humans act this way.
People want validation for their work, time, effort, and artists are one of the biggest roles in which the only validation you generally get only that, and sometimes people don't even get that pat on the back.
It's really tough out there.
So yes- human beings may attempt to out shine you, or put you down- or accuse you of things- it's habit. This would not apply just to the cosplay community- have you ever had to put your art in a gallery? Trust me- not everyone is going to be all thumbs up if your

Q: Where did you get your wig?
A: My Finn made it for me. It was made out of two long wigs-- one 48 inch, one 60 inch. They were purchased on Ebay. I don't know the seller, sorry!
Q: How did you do the makeup?
A: It is Ben Nye Character Series cream makeup in Ghoul Grey (CB-8). It was applied using latex makeup sponges and sealed with Ben Nye Neutral Set Colorless Powder and hairspray. I do not recommend using hairspray unless you have someone helping you apply the makeup.
You can buy it here: http://www.frendsbeautysupplyonline.com/bennyecharacterbasecb-8ghoulgrey.aspx for only $3.40!
Q: How much makeup did you use?
A: Evicted! : Medium Coverage (face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms, hands)
Henchmen: Medium Coverage (face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms, hands)

What doesn't kill you makes you strongerI just went back and read some of the horrible comments I've received from people in the past. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I remember how hurtful it was and how much I wanted to just dissapear from it all. I felt helpless and hopeless.
The internet can be a terrible place.
When people aren't accountable for what they say they feel a certain sense of power. The ability to judge others without being judged ourselves is a position of immense dominance. It's exhilarating to exercise that dominance over another person.
But now, looking back, I realize that it doesn't bother me anymore. I don't even bother hiding, deleting or responding to those comments because it just doesn't bug me. I feel a resounding "eh",
I keep those comments up so that people can see the kind of behaviour that people reduce themselves to when they're behind a computer screen. Every "this is shit" or ""he" is just a dyke and a "she"" has meaning to me now. It means that I've overcome something that I never would have thought possible. I'm not hu

Vocaloid JBF Flower Wreath + Ciel lenses, etc.Jin's Flower Wreath ProcessVocaloid JBF Flower Wreath + Ciel lenses, etc.3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Sometime last May, Kat moonlightflight and I cosplayed our favorite Vocaloid song, "Just Be Friends".
Their outfits seem simple at a glance, but that actually makes things more complicated sometimes. Hahah. Despite Luka's dress looking like something you could probably find in a mall, Charmie yaoiangel14 made the dress from scratch exactly as it looked in the artwork, just for Kat moonlightflight. Kat and I also did our best with the part of their outfits that had the most amount of detail (which also happens to be our favorite parts) the flower wreaths.
I have some pictures of the progress of my wreath, so I thought I'd share them. This probably isn't the best method of going about this, but this is how I did mine and I found it pretty easy. (I wish I could have taken more photos or a video, but to be honest I wasn't quite sure I'd pull this off at first. Hahah!)
