Deviant UpdateHey everyone, gonna give y'all some updates and stuff.Deviant Update1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Been a while since I posted a Journal about updates, I've been real obsessed with drawing FCs and OCs as you have probably already acknowledged.. My big sissy got me back into them. The last time I loved making them or even role-playing them was way-back before I was on deviantART. And no don't think I'll replace my love for Sonic.. <3 You all know he's my fave to role-play as and always will be...
Let's talk about the Spirit of Chaos. Eh?
I'm gonna go over that real quick if you don't mind...
Yes, I'm pretty sure a few of you remember my first comic on here (that is now removed so don't go looking for it) called Love-Just-is... It was original planned to be a Sonic and Sally-based comic but I had another idea in mind in which was Sonic as the Spirit from an old role-play. So I changed the name of the comic to be "Spirit-of-the-Emerald" ...But, by the 3rd Issue I had gotten so exhausted from co

I don't need to hear words
I don't need something to prove
I don't need to see you to know
I don't need to think
You don't need to think
Because all I need is your smile
to let me know it's alright
you won't leave
I don't need anything else but your smile...
Because your smile
You pull me up when I fall down
You don't fear when I shout
You are always there
You make me laugh
You make me cry
You make me smile
You're never a stranger to me
You're so kind
You're everything I need
And best of all...
...you are my friend.. c=
So I just broke the Red X/Jason Todd theory...Out of complete boredom I broke any relations of Jason Todd and Red X ever possibly being the same person.. Now time to explain~!So I just broke the Red X/Jason Todd theory...11 months ago in Personal More Like This
In September of 2004, the Teen Titans character Red X (II/2) was introduced as an antihero of the series.. In February of 2005 Jason Todd was officially introduced as "Red Hood." How could Red X be based on a character who basically had not existed at that time?

Excellent Advice - A Quote From Neil Gaiman"When things get tough, this is what you should do: Make good art. I'm serious. Husband runs off with a politician -- make good art. Leg crushed and then eaten by a mutated boa constrictor -- make good art. IRS on your trail -- make good art. Cat exploded -- make good art. Someone on the Internet thinks what you're doing is stupid or evil or it's all been done before -- make good art." Exercise 17: Cast ShadowsTHIS WEEK's EXERCISE POST : THE FULL POST AND DETAILSExercise 17: Cast Shadows1 year ago in Personal More Like This
So what is a cast shadow? A cast shadow is caused from an obstruction that interferes with the direction of the light source, and that obstruction CASTS a SHADOW. The challenge is figuring out how to add values to the form of the subject matter in both lit areas and areas that fall under the cast shadow.
EXERCISE: Create 3 examples of cast shadows on different subject matters.
For this exercise, there are three examples you are to test your skill set on. You can download the practice sheet on the main page but below is an example setup.
1. The first is an animated character with 2 obstructions. You know the scene set up: When a garage door is lowering or a door is slowly being close
I fail at artI was going trough old binders and found some of my ancient "art". Some of it was hilariously bad so of course, being shameless as I am, now it's time to share.I fail at art3 years ago in Personal More Like This
This is how I was drawing when I was a teenager, something around 15-17.
Behold my weaboo phase! Yes, I was drawing animu. I never got a good grip on that style so it's all hideous.

That hand. That space between eyes. That fabric, hair, expression, composition ...well everything.
The next few images I would call "look at me, imma ahrtis for realz" series.

Remember kids. If you fail at anatomy just add random lines. Random ass lines make everything better. Yep.
Just look at this person's face. Don't you want to punch it? I do, so very very much.

Life is Beautiful...Isn't it?Life is Beautiful...1 year ago in Personal More Like This
There are magical moments in life where I get the opportunity to remember that I'm nothing but an insignificant living being among 8 billion others.. on a planet among 8 in a solar system among billions in a galaxy among trillions and all in one universe-- possibly among others?-- where whether or not I died, would hardly leave a mark even in the face of my own city.
The world goes on without you.
Yet I once realized, that a meaning in life, is to give life a meaning.
Live your dreams! You only live once.
Don't do idiotic dares for the sake of saying you did them-- go tell that cute boy or girl you like them!
Go tell the world your name!
Why must everything be over after one failure..?
Sure, the humiliation of having everyone look down upon you is torture itself... but when you get back up and show everyone that you're somebody, it won't be you who'd be ashamed for not realizing your potential sooner-- but them!

An Aereoscopic Adventure! An Aereoscopic Adventure!2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
i have always been a huge fan of art books. in fact i would say that 99 percent of my bookshelves are filled with art books ranging from animation to fashion design and everything visual in between. it was partly why i am so excited to have produced my own book, Walking Your Octopus. one of my goals with this project was to create an art book that was also an art object and this vision guided every aspect of the book's production. as we all know ebooks are becoming more and more popular and i struggled with how my book which was a celebration of all things analog might fit into the digital space. fortunately my very creative friend eric, had the solution...Aereoscope.

The NEW Batman.A rant... so strap in...The NEW Batman.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Yesterday's events... Joss' opinion on the ending of ESB, Bradley Cooper's probable casting as the voice of Rocket Raccoon and the biggie, Ben Affleck being named the next Batman has made me realize just how absolutely insane some of you people are.
Seriously. I'm not joking. Some of you people have absolutely ZERO CLUE as to what you're talking about. But I thank you in advance for making weeding you out easier.
Let's start with Whedon and move from there.
So Joss apparently was quoted as saying that he was "appalled by the the ending of Empire because it didn't have an ending."
It didn't folks. And he was referring to being appalled as a kid. Trust me, all of you whining about this right now were too, just that "appalling" is too strong a word for some of you. At least those of you who were old enough to see these films in the theaters in their original run, which most of you weren't. You had the instant grat

I had no idea I was being so bitter - but when I thought about it I had to concede the point. And that made me start wondering why - Why did I feel so angry about the UK? What was my problem?
But here's the thing - Some 14 years ago I couldn't get any work. We had just had baby no.2, and I had done a run on 'Spawn: the Dark Ages', and had been suddenly replaced, along with the rest of the team on the book, because McFarlane wanted 'a change of direction'. And then there was literally no work. I went to NY to see DC and Marvel, but they had nothing. I pitched company after company, to no avail. I tried to get on illustration agency books, but was refused by all of them. I tried children's book publishers, Core Design, and other computer game companies. Nobody wanted me. Even Frank Frazetta criticized my art in his book 'Icon' - just to add insult to injury!
We ended up having to sel

I have some "Off-white" related news for you.
Me and :icontanathe: have been working on Off-White for almost 6 years now. During this time our lives gradually changed, and we've acquired new responsibilities. I'm busy with creating a museum design for my major degree in architecture, and Kate works full time on the newest Witcher game. With all that keeping up with a regular update schedule became more and more challenging. Because we are still very committed to this project, we felt that we've been letting our readers down lately. We've decided it's time to make some changes. To keep the updates regular we've invited a new member to our team! Today we welcome :iconjessi-mei: as our new artist and writer!
Here's a few words from her:
Hey Off-White readers!
You’ve probably seen me around, especially in the comment section for the past couple of years. And for some of you more experienced, long-time readers, you’ve seen me in both of the Off-White forums as both

so, this july i am starting death vigil, published by image/top cow. it will be a monthly series limited to three 8-issue arcs, so there is a definitive ending. with this i have learned some of the things about publishing independent comics, and i am planning a video with some tips after i summarize my experiences. hopefully it will prove helpful for others to get their stuff published
but apparently rule 1 is promote preorders. preorders are crucial for independent books as they define the print runs, and are crucial to the sucess of the book.. so.. as my far more experienced friends told me to do....
death vigil is preorderable ...pretty much in any place or webstore that carries US comics.
you can find an extensive preview to issue 1 and much more here

what about ravine? ron marz assured me that he will be

YO! I just returned safely from our JL: War Premiere in beautiful and blizzardous NYC, and I just wanted to thank all the fans and comics and animation press that braved the insane weather to come see us! You guys and gals helped make it a really special night for us, and on behalf of the cast and crew I want you to know that it is deeply appreciated. We have another JL War screening coming up NEXT THURSDAY the 30th of January at the Paley center in LA. Not sure if tickets are still being sold, but I do believe it's still possible to get in for the resourceful and dedicated who either love what we do, or can't wait to tell us how much we suck to our faces!

On the Journey i go.Hey guys, so i wanted to just post up a ramble really, lol. Im going to be disappearing from the internet for a bit, im sure iw ill post things up here and there, but for the most part, i will be away. I think its time to really step my game up and learn again, so i will be on a journey learning from various artists and styles, and really pushing myself again. Its weird working in animation (and comics too im sure) but you tend to draw SOOOO much, that you grow at a RIDICULOUS rate, but because of the nature of your job and the monotony of it, there is usually little windows at a time for you to introduce some of what you learn into your system. Well, im am taking a good amount of time away from the studios right now in order to implement some of what i have learned over the last few years. I hope that you guys will take the time to do the same. its been a great lesson thus far. Anyway, that its all, if you guys have thoughts or sites or anything to share in that direction, i would lovOn the Journey i go.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I have gone on record...I have gone on record...2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Time and time again,
I have gone on record saying that
the first mistake somebody makes
in pursuing privacy on the Internet...
...Is thinking they can achieve
privacy on the Internet.
Every website you visit.
Every purchase you make.
Every bank transaction.
It is all tracked.
That's how the Internet works.
In order for information to be processed
and stuff to be presented to you,
it needs to be given to an external source.
Where it is then indexed.
Now that tweet you just sent out,
that Facebook update,
that Email you send drunkenly to your ex...
...It's permanently etched
on the hard drive in a data bank
whose location you don't even know.
People are now wildly surprised after
the NSA has been found to be tracking
all this "private" information.
But there is one flaw with this outrage.
The belief that the information was
"private" in the first place...
...Is a fallacy.
It might have not been accessible to
the public, the website's users, or
