Oil Pastels are cool! Once I tried them, they became my favorite!... So I made this tutorial, because they're aren't many oil pastel tutorials, and to share what I've learned. I'm no expert or anything, but here are some tips I've found out:
* Smooth paper, like Oaktag, are good to use for oil pastels. Paper with grain hurts to rub in, and leaves white dots if you don't rub it in well enough.
* Make your sketch simple... The pencil lines will rub in and smear when blending, so don't try to draw little details... they will just cause an ugly gray pencil blob on the paper.
* If you mess up, try to scrape the pastel off with your fingernail... Or, if it was a light color, just blend it in.
