Hands up if you like prawns??!!!! Definitely not I, not since my Mother once told me they hung around the sewers in the sea anyway. But prawns are popular globally, almost - and here are some great examples of how you can get very creative with the little poo dwelling crustaceans...
Will you ever eat them again?

Art ElvesI mentioned I was in Mammoth over the holidays, which, besides an annoying sickness for the first few days, was so much fun I don't even know where to start. But I'll get into that in another Journal.Art Elves2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
I wanted to share with you a note I found on my desk at hq when I returned. Yanira works here at the office once or twice a week and she had her nephews in with her during the break.
We have a ton of these deviantART coasters laying around HQ so they must have found them. We originally made them for originaldrinkanddraw and I'm so glad they found them! I'm going to have to get more just in case the elves come again!
Look what they left for me!
How cool are these?! Um, please ignore the devious slogan on there... Hopefully the artistic elves knew we were talking about delicious, healthy milk!
PE: Wallpaper Created TraditionallyWallpaper. It's what you're hanging in your desktop computer/laptop right now. It can be about your (crazy) life, or a very great artwork done by your favorite artist.PE: Wallpaper Created Traditionally3 weeks ago in Art Features More Like This
Mostly, whenever you encounter wallpapers around DeviantArt, there are two things you notice: one, the wallpapers were created digitally, and two, they are as a result of a photograph.
But have you ever encountered a wallpaper that was created traditionally?
Mostly, you won't. Because when you try to make one, it comes out in a very weird resolution that is not suitable for a wallpaper according to DA's guidelines. And when you make it digitally or take a photograph, the drawing program/camera will already give you a set of wallpaper-acceptable resolutions so that you would not get worried about resolution problems.
What does wallpaper mean?
The terms Wallpaper and Desktop Picture refer to an image (usually in JPG, PNG or BMP file format) or repeating pattern used as a background on a co
Avoid That dAramaAnyone who has been an internet user for a period of time should know that drama is one of the hallmarks of the absolutely wonderful technology that allows us to be connected 24/7. It's like glitter, one moment all you see is just a fleck of it then suddenly, it's everywhere. DeviantArt is chock full of massive amounts of it (drama, not glitter!) at any given time, so let's talk about what you need to know to avoid it (aaaand what to do if you find yourself in it)!Avoid That dArama6 months ago in Art Features More Like This
I just caused the argument because... I wanted to get more pageviews, I wanted to be popular, for the lulz, I was bored
I ALWAYS have to reply
If you think the interwebs is the only place you'll find people you don't agree with, I think it's time you spent a little more time away from your computer. First off, let me say that there's nothing inherently wrong about disagreeing with someone. Nothing at

No better living functioning evolving example of the new pattern in the creation, dissemination and education in the visual arts can be found than Imaginism Studios, the online brainchild of artists Bobby Chiu & Kei Acedera. Established in Toronto in 2005, the studio has specialized in pre-production character and concept design for film, TV, gaming, and publishing. As creators of some of the most wildly creative and whimsical images ever presented on deviantART, this artistic couple has built an international fan base independent of their c

Liam Sharp was and is one of the most sought after comic artists in the business. After bursting on the scene by drawing the bestselling Marvel UK title of all time, Death Head II, he was back in America illustrating top line comics like Superman, Batman and Spiderman as well as special projects for people like Stan Winston. For anyone unfamiliar with his amazing work, his galleries can be found on deviantART. I recently got lost for an entire day perusing a single file of his Conan illustrations.

dArp: Daily DeviationsThe DD is a known abbreviation within deviantART.dArp: Daily Deviations1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
But those two letters can be a challenge for all on deviantART sometimes. For this dArp article i will not focus on art but collected the articles and explanations of other people.
Also known as Daily Deviation. It is a daily feature given since the beginning of deviantART to showcase a few selected pieces. For 24 hours it will be seen at the footer or at the DD page. Afterwards it will vanish among the older DD pages. It will be forgotten instantly after those 24h and only gets a bit attention when CVs do their monthly DD feature again or when someone stumbles across them by accident.
Artworks featured as a DD can be easily recognized by that little red heart framed by a golden background below the actual deviation. It often comes together with comments like "Congratulations for the DD".
DDs can not be a journal, a WIP or any artwork located at the 'Scraps' category.

PE Art Features and Daily DeviationsDaily Deviations:PE Art Features and Daily Deviations2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
As per :faq61:, The Daily Deviation is a daily feature chosen from galleries here on deviantART.
A small assortment of submissions are chosen each day by a select group of staff/volunteer members who wish to showcase an image which they found impressive or otherwise interesting enough to deserve being brought to the attention of the community-at-large.
Benefits of suggesting Daily Deviations:
helping artists gain more exposure
deviantART is such a large website with many members, often great art can fall through the cracks and go unnoticed as a result. Daily Deviations are usually a wonderful way to put a bit of a spotlight on a particular piece or artist. Often people like to focus on the lesser known artists, though it may be worth noting that even deviations uploaded by popular artists can at times use more exposure as well
Did you Know? - Submit a Group JournalSubmit a Group Journal via a GroupDid you Know? - Submit a Group Journal1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
The usual way to submit a journal to a group is via the groups platform.
Therefor go to your group and click at the "Journal" tab, to get to the journals page. There you can find the "+ New Blog Entry" button at the top left .
If you click that you will get an empty form for your new journal entry. From there you can write down all the latest information, can choose the category it should be added to and can add a skin (Super Group status is required for that).
Once you have added all needed information, codes and did fill out the form correctly, you can now submit your journal.
Journals submitted via a group can not be added to the journal section of other groups. Only to their galleries.
Submit a Group Journal via Sta.sh
Go to Sta.sh and prepare the journal you want to submit. Write down all information and maybe add a

The deviantART related gallery is one that isn't limited to a certain style or medium. Any kind of art that can be found in a specific gallery, can also be found here. This explain the great diversity among this gallery, but also makes it difficult to explain what dAr is with one sentence. Beside that dAr comes with a few unique galleries that offer artworks to customize your experience within deviantART. It's a community based gallery.
These two articles Part 1 & Part 2 give you an overview of the single categories where you can find and submit deviantART related art to.

What's the Idea?
Some of us love reading long articles, but many of us prefer to be able to read something short, concise and to the point perhaps including an image to illustrate the point - but nothing more. So the idea is that members of the Community Volunteer team and of the wider deviantART Community (YOU!) can start blogging a handy hint or tip related to Art or deviantART, via our blog.
How can I get involved?
All you need to do is note the projecteducate group with your Hint or Tip! This is so that we can be sure we don't have any double-posting going on and we'll always work with you to adapt your idea if someone else has proposed

So many people love photographs of animals. From a begging puppy to the intense gaze of a tiger, there's something beautiful and grabbing about domestic and wildlife portraiture. If you have spent much time in the animal-related photography galleries, you know the rate of submissions is pretty fast. There is a constant influx of new work being submitted all day, every day. Many photographers starting out in this arena often wonder how they can make their animal photography stand out in the crowd. Check out these two helpful hints to add some flair to your animal photography!
The Rule of Thirds and Depth of Field:
We often see portraits of animals where the subject is placed directly in the center of the frame and everything is in focus. While this may seem organized and tidy to the photographer, the viewer may scroll past this without really seeing it. Using the

Ten Macro Photography TipsMacro photography is photography magnified. It is generally recognized as “macro” when you are increasing the size of an object in your picture from about half life-size, as represented on the image sensor, to five times life-size. 1) Lens choice...
Many lens choices have that very tempting 'Macro setting' on them which supposedly allows your camera to magically transform itself into the ability to be a complete perfect macro lens. It works sometimes! Depending on your camera. However if you want to capture true Macro photography then you need a true Macro Lens.
