Jason Todd was the second Robin after Dick left to lead the Teen Titans. Batman found him on the streets after he tried to steal the tires of the batmoble . He would later adopt him and train him to become Robin. However Jason differed from Dick in that he was far more brutal in battle, not even giving criminals the option of retreating. Still his heart was in the right place. Fast forward several years and Jason is kidnapped by the Joker, beaten viciously with a crowbar, and then left alone in a room with a bomb. Batman tries to rescue Jason but the bomb explodes, killing Jason, mere moments before Batman reaches him. Bruce would later go into a brief depression and consider Jason's death his "ultimate failure".
Full body leotard. Much manlier than pixie shorts.
After Dick Grayson left Batman's side he went to lead the Teen Ttians. But eventually he realized that it would be best if he went solo and left the Titans. Lacking direction in his life and having already bequeathed the mantle of Robin to Jason, Dick sought out Superman for advice. Superman told Dick the story of long ago on Krypton, a man was cast out by his family - just as Dick had been. He dreamed of a world ruled by justice, and set out to protect the helpless of Krypton. His true identity was never revealed. He was known only as Nightwing. Inspired by the story Dick officially became the new Nightwing and from then onward was a hero independent of Batman.
So liek, it's no secret that my little sweetie have some serious watermelon fetish going on, so I decided to make him some simple paper craft based on a reference I found on net, Leon and Jirou watermelon ~. Though it was a pain sitting down to calculate those angle and length sothat they would fit together, it was really fun to look at them when they're finished XD
Tada, and here's Dick Grayson! Dick has always been my favorite Robin, ever since I began watching the Animated Series back in the 90s. In all honesty I have nothing disparaging to say about him EXCEPT for his original outfit. Yep, I despised the pixie shorts. I know the creators of Batman wanted to portray a more child friendly hero to accompany Batman but the über bright color scheme and the tight fitting speedo just didn't seem to do the character justice. Which is why I much prefer Dick's costume in Young Justice!
Thank you AlliedChiramii for letting me do bead sprites of your excellent pixel work!
And credit to Allied Chiramii for doing the edits! -> [link] & [link]
I wish I could turn out more bead sprites but due to my lack of beads and befuddling cold this is probably all I'll be able to do for a while. (But look forward to more D.C. related stuff in the future...)
