“At least I have you guys.” You muttered to yourself as you pulled out an old cardboard box that was one tear away from falling apart. Glancing inside, you smiled, seeing that your comic books were still there. With a grunt, you lifted the heavy box onto your bed and pulled out the top three books; ‘Catwoman: When in Rome’, ‘Batman: Hush’, and ‘Batgirl: Batgirl Rises’. They were the first few graphic novels that you had gotten and they were the start of your Bat Family addiction, “You guys won’t leave me right?” You muttered, almost inaudible, as you leafed through ‘Hush.’
After curling up with the book, you stopped at t

You may not have noticed me, but when I stepped up in to the bus, I noticed you. I made my way to the nearest seat, careful not to disturb you. The other passengers and I watched you crawling on the window. Our eyes filled with worry, and we sat still, staring, each of us hoping we would not be the one you stung.
I felt your frustration, as you banged your head on the glass and crawled about it, watching the trees blur by. All of the exits were clearly marked, but you could not understand them. You could not know when the doors would open, which pane of glass would slide. Perhaps you would never be free, I wondered. Perhaps you would die there. I wanted to tell you that I have been where you are. I wanted to tell you that I knew how you felt. But I didn't.
For thirty minutes I watched you. I imagined myself sliding my hand under your six legs, cupping my fingers around your frail body, and carrying you outside with me. But when the b

Dr. Robert Jamieson shivered as he stepped out into the cold, Norwegian air, the metal on his glasses causing his face to get even colder than it was already. It was the fifth day of research digging for a special mineral called Manrel that was rumored to strengthen man's physical and mental power, and if used in a certain way, in rare cases, could give unnatural powers. At first it had all been silly fairytales, something that you would tell your children before bed. Old Norse tales had told of it being made by the gods to protect themselves and make themselves more powerful. But a scientist in Norway had claimed to have found the fabled mineral, and had made an average man five times stronger and his brain able to retain ten times as much information as the average brain.
It had seemed silly to Dr. Jamieson, at first. But when the 28 year old had gone to a lecture by the scientist and had seen his experiment, his thoughts began to change. Other scientists had come close, on

"Congrats, (Y/N)!" Steve patted your back as you put away the electronic guitar.
"Thanks," You replied, smiling at him before turning to talk to a grumpy looking Tony.
"I'll admit, you're pretty good from someone who's not from this dimension." Tony stated, shrugging his shoulders.
"We have Guitar Hero in my world to, Tony." You rolled your eyes at him and yawned, stretching your arms above your head.
"Well, we should hit the hay. We've a long day ahead of us tomorrow." Steve said, noticing your yawn.
Everyone said there good nights and you followed Natasha out of the game room and to your room, giving her a warm good night before closing the door to your room.
You rifled through your shopping bags, searching for the pajamas that you had bought earlier. You decided to just put everything away into drawers and in the closet.
In about ten minutes, you had successfully put everything away and found your pajamas. You grabbed a pair of underwear and walked to the adjoining bathroom turning

I wasn't even sure if I was the real Red Arrow
All my memories are fake, my whole life was fake, I have nothing, but programming, images and fake memories stored in my mind like it's a computer.
I sit there, unsure of what to do next, unsure of who to be.
I can't be Roy Harper, because I'm not Roy Harper. I was never the adopted son of Oliver Queen, just a replacement.
I can't be Speedy, because I'm not Speedy. I left that role behind months earlier and even if I hadn't I wasn't the real Speedy.
I can't even be Red Arrow, because he's a fugitive, a criminal, he betrayed everyone he, everyone I, cared about, or at least Speedy cared about.
Tears are rolling down my face now, as I roll up into the ball on Speedy's bed, not my bed, I'm not real; I'm just a shell of the true hero I was designed to replace.
Every things fake, everything I knew was a lie, a program.

You feel as if you are soldered to the seat at the table where a great stack of novels await, classical, guilty pleasure, and historical, reflecting a downside-up version of them in the dusty glass table, where there is also reflected upon it that there is a smile on your face retreating to his.

what like fairies and stuff?
Well like ghosts then?
No, like giraffes.
Giraffes ? What they aren't magic.
Yes they are. How do they live, seriously look at them! How can a heart get blood all the way to the head without it pooling in the feet? How can they bend over and not pass out? How can they fall two meters to the ground at birth and then a few minutes later be up and walking. They are magic.
Magic! No thats what we modern people like to call science. I don't know what biology class you have been taking but...
But think about it how did that little protozoa know it would, in the future, be able to reach the tops of trees if it's skin warped it's legs tight enough? That it needed valves near it's brain so it could bend over. That it would have to learn to run fast enough to stay alive.
Did you not just explain to me science or lets say evolution?
But it is magic, thats my kind of magic. No stupid make believe, the world is magic withou

Parties were never my thing. I was required as a leader to attend them. Gallas. Balls. Appearances. Always I was told to go. Because I'm Wonder Woman and I have to do it for the team. It was so...stupid for someone like me to have to do this. The first heroes of Gotham were at a celebration for the first owner of a world-wide meausem. Mr. Banks. He was about 87 and very rich. Unfortunately...he was going to die any day from natural causes. Or so he has said. No. The heroes were not in their costumes. We were all in normal wear. Dresses. Suits. Tuxedos. The people were dancing under the lights hung in the trees of the meausem garden. Drinking Champagne and laughing with the music. This is were the night dawned upon us. Only little of them noticed.
The wind blew my hair from my shoulders and ruffled the skirt of my dress. My hip resting on a gargoyle of the meausem balcony. The nights shadows the only friend of the roof top. I sighed listening to the music sway the trees below me. I was
Silhouette of the ShoreThe cold air stung his face, icy drops clinging to his hair and eyelashes as he scanned the horizon. The world was grey, he was enveloped in mist; the atmosphere had changed considerably since he had first arrived there. Salt and vapor filled his nostrils, overwhelming the senses. He continued to scan the horizon, unable to find what he was looking for, if he was looking for anything at all. A sense of horror welled up and overcame him, however, when the tips of black sails began to pierce through the mist
he could hardly feel the sand scraping beneath him, for he himself felt as hard as stone. And yet, he moved with surprising speed and a keen sense of determination, each short step across the miniature dunes markedly deliberate. Each grain seemed to have its own unique composition, shimmering and reflecting the misty droplets as if inviting the waves to

Harley looked nervously down at the little white stick in her hand, then at her watch. 30 seconds.
30 seconds standing in between a joyous life of crime with her beloved mistah J or resigning herself to deskwork for nearly a year.
25 seconds. Harley paced in anticipation. She could just be coming down with a bug...
What would he say? Would he be sad? mad? happy? disappointed?
What would he do to her? He never meant to hurt her, but sometimes his anger got the best of him.
Harley stared at the little white stick in her hand. It could change her life forever.
Harley nervously looked down at th stick. On it was a little red plus sign. It was positive, Harleen quinzell was pregnant.
The joker sat scribbling at some blueprints on his desk. He was intensely concentrated. Harley slowly walked into his office, he didn't look up.
"Mistah J?" She squeaked
"I'm busy Harles."

We grow here too fast, kids with fifty-year old eyes who talk like old women, who smoke and drink and work and wear sandpaper hands and swear like we know what fuck means before it makes sense. Here's skin and bone and lips and teeth, all the colours of mud. We're soil and dirt and layers of grime. We're filth. We grow stupid, stuck underneath a starless sky, staring up, pretending we remember what it was to be human. Everything stinks of shit and sea salt and we starve and swallow rotten fish and spit and maybe some of us snarl our discontent and maybe some of scream it, but Jesus, all I hear are empty words and hollow fucking promises, and I'm sick of looking backwards.

Upon seeing John, the detective inspector did a double take as if he thought his eyes were deceiving him. Perhaps like John, it was so easy for him to remember the days when it was unusual for Sherlock Holmes not to be at the scene of a particularly strange murder. "John?" He asked, eyebrows knitting together in confusion. "What are you doing here? This is a crime scene." Sherlock's Shadowy Past - p1John had a lot of things on his mind on January 13th. He had effectively been avoiding taxis after his first adventure with his new flat-mate Sherlock Holmes. Occasionally he rode in them when Sherlock was with him, mostly because he didn't want to look like a complete wimp, but on the whole John had avoided cabs for the last several months. But Sherlock didn't shop. For anything. Ever. So he had spent the better part of the morning riding the tube to various parts of London picking up an equally assorted array of groceries. He was currently carrying, among other things, formaldehyde, eggs, toothpaste, bullets and a vast quantity of milk. God only knew what Sherlock had been doing with the last six containers that had been bought in the last week, maybe just pouring it down the drain, but John was getting awfully tiered of waking up to dry breakfast cereal because a certain flat-mate had used/drank/poured out all of it. Plus for the last week or so John had been more or less living atSherlock's Shadowy Past - p14 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
