Tell me about it - Chap 1Dec 20th: 12:00 AM.: A cold winter night. Or rather a new day.Tell me about it - Chap 14 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Batman was on his usual night patrol. He made the roof top of a tall building as his operating point, from where he could have a clear view of the street, especially the museum, which, according to his sources, is the site of action for the night. He was alone. He insisted Robin to stay out of these chilly night patrols and concentrate on his studies. His grades were beginning to worry him. He had not faced such problem with Dick, he perfectly balanced between his studies and his work. Tim, on the other hand was so obsessed with his newly acquired Robin persona that he dreamt of flying the streets of Gotham all day. No wonder there was a protest from him to Bruce's decision, but the big man had the final word.
The night was colder than usual. Why could't Joker choose a better day to bother him? There was no reason why he should rob a museum, except to attract Batman's attention. "Crime is no fun withou

Parties were never my thing. I was required as a leader to attend them. Gallas. Balls. Appearances. Always I was told to go. Because I'm Wonder Woman and I have to do it for the team. It was so...stupid for someone like me to have to do this. The first heroes of Gotham were at a celebration for the first owner of a world-wide meausem. Mr. Banks. He was about 87 and very rich. Unfortunately...he was going to die any day from natural causes. Or so he has said. No. The heroes were not in their costumes. We were all in normal wear. Dresses. Suits. Tuxedos. The people were dancing under the lights hung in the trees of the meausem garden. Drinking Champagne and laughing with the music. This is were the night dawned upon us. Only little of them noticed.
The wind blew my hair from my shoulders and ruffled the skirt of my dress. My hip resting on a gargoyle of the meausem balcony. The nights shadows the only friend of the roof top. I sighed listening to the music sway the trees below me. I was

The war had ended in the night as quickly as it had begun. The city raged below, the people pulling together in their time of crisis, working to put back their broken city. Their homes. Their lives.
Two watchful figures stood on an overlooking hillside outside the city, their eyes shining in the glow of the fires below. A man and a boy. Silent. Their long capes swayed with the wind, though they were unmoved.
"It's strange to see them working together like that. Usually they're clawing each others throats," the boy said, breaking the lull.
He saw the man move, but only slightly. The darkness gave their emotions cover. "There will come a day when the world no longer needs heroes like you and me. Humanity will find that it's able to stand on its own, without out help," the man said to the younger as they watched over the work they had set in motion continuing in the city below.
"Maybe," the boy said quietly. He wanted to believe his mentor, but he had seen too much evil to thin

what like fairies and stuff?
Well like ghosts then?
No, like giraffes.
Giraffes ? What they aren't magic.
Yes they are. How do they live, seriously look at them! How can a heart get blood all the way to the head without it pooling in the feet? How can they bend over and not pass out? How can they fall two meters to the ground at birth and then a few minutes later be up and walking. They are magic.
Magic! No thats what we modern people like to call science. I don't know what biology class you have been taking but...
But think about it how did that little protozoa know it would, in the future, be able to reach the tops of trees if it's skin warped it's legs tight enough? That it needed valves near it's brain so it could bend over. That it would have to learn to run fast enough to stay alive.
Did you not just explain to me science or lets say evolution?
But it is magic, thats my kind of magic. No stupid make believe, the world is magic withou

We grow here too fast, kids with fifty-year old eyes who talk like old women, who smoke and drink and work and wear sandpaper hands and swear like we know what fuck means before it makes sense. Here's skin and bone and lips and teeth, all the colours of mud. We're soil and dirt and layers of grime. We're filth. We grow stupid, stuck underneath a starless sky, staring up, pretending we remember what it was to be human. Everything stinks of shit and sea salt and we starve and swallow rotten fish and spit and maybe some of us snarl our discontent and maybe some of scream it, but Jesus, all I hear are empty words and hollow fucking promises, and I'm sick of looking backwards.

Harley looked nervously down at the little white stick in her hand, then at her watch. 30 seconds.
30 seconds standing in between a joyous life of crime with her beloved mistah J or resigning herself to deskwork for nearly a year.
25 seconds. Harley paced in anticipation. She could just be coming down with a bug...
What would he say? Would he be sad? mad? happy? disappointed?
What would he do to her? He never meant to hurt her, but sometimes his anger got the best of him.
Harley stared at the little white stick in her hand. It could change her life forever.
Harley nervously looked down at th stick. On it was a little red plus sign. It was positive, Harleen quinzell was pregnant.
The joker sat scribbling at some blueprints on his desk. He was intensely concentrated. Harley slowly walked into his office, he didn't look up.
"Mistah J?" She squeaked
"I'm busy Harles."
"Harley, I'm buisy."

I make futile attempts to desecrate your confidence and fervor for that silly incompetent Goddess of yours, and you spit in my face metaphorically by keeping silent and stoic throughout my atrocious treatment during the commonplace mood swings I have. Our days spent together differ quite a bit from when we began but the nights I devote to watching you sleep in ignorance are all the same as they begun. Hot angry tears cascade down my supple, perfect cheeks while I make mental accusations about you in the still of this quiet night. Don't you understand how torn you make me? Does it disturb you to know that the only reason you are alive in this situation is because of my infatuation with you? Do you really mourn your people's predicament without any self-preservation? How come you don't give in already?
Do you ever return my desires Link?

"Do you like men?"
Mikado sputtered, finally looking up from the manga Erika and Walker had lent him (forced on him was more like it) to find Kida kneeling in front of him, face pushed close to his. "W-where did this come from?"
"Oh, nothing." Kida bent closer, his elbows bending outwards. In the 90 degree weather he had ditched the white sweater, replacing it with a wife beater - a wife beater, Mikado had come to found out, liked to gap in the front and give him an unlimited view down Kida's shirt. He gulped. This was going to either turn into the most awkward conversation ever, or the the lamest joke ever, he couldn't decide which...
"Just that Seiji thinks you're secretly a homo or something." Kida leaned back, fiddling with the silver earring he'd bragged to Mikado made him look "manlier" but later complained itched like no other. "He seems to think you have the hots for Izaya."
Izaya? "Izaya!" Mikado stood up, not caring that the manga he'd been reading was practi

"Sweet! Road trip!" Tony said, unfolding his arms before leaning back into his chair.
"Will your father be okay with this?" Natasha asked, leaning forward so that her crossed arms rested on the table.
"Yes, he would be more than happy to welcome friends." Thor folded his arms across his chest, "Besides, Heimdall has probably already informed my father of our plan."
"Well, if Thor says it's okay then I'm going to trust him." Clint leaned back in his chair, precariously balancing it on two legs before draping an arm over the back of Natasha's chair. Natasha rolled her eyes before looking back over at Thor, "When are we leaving?"

The first time we were both sitting in the room together, getting ready to take the math test that would determine our placement. He was lounging backwards in his chair, looking for all the world as though he didn’t have a single care in the world, including the upcoming test. It annoyed me, that I was frantic and ready to scream, while someone else could be that relaxed.
I tested out of the class.
I don’t know if he did.
The second time I saw him, it was a few months after I arrived on campus. He was the one rushing and frantic this time, running across the square. He was probably late for class, though I had no way of knowing for sure. I was already lost in my own thoughts and ideas, deciding on my major and convincing people that yes, this is what I really want to do with my life. If they weren

You followed next to Loki, the silence growing more and more awkward by the minute. "How do you like this dimension so far?" Loki questioned, breaking the silence. "It's awesome here; it makes me wish I never had to go home."
"You don't have to," Loki said, not looking at you as you turned to look at him quizzically. "I have friends and family who are probably worried about me, as much as I would love to stay, I just can't."
"I understand your predicament; I was in the same situation once. I chose myself over those who loved me; I was just too naive to see it." You didn't know how to respond to this new bit of information. To say it shocked you would be an understatement.
"Would you say you've made up for it?" You questioned looking ahead again. You felt his green eyed stare on you before he sighed and you felt his gaze lift, "No, and I don't think I ever will. Here we are."
Loki stopped in front of a pair of vast double doors that were very similar in size to those of the throne room.

"Hey, Tony?" You asked, breaking your long silence. Tony slowed down so he could walk alongside you, "Yeah?"
"Do mind if I ask why your entire persona changed the moment you met Odin." You questioned. Steve laughed, "I was wondering the same thing."
Tony shrugged and looked ahead of him, "Well, I wasn't about to be sarcastic towards the man who supposedly created mankind. He probably would've sent me straight to the gates of Helheim, he doesn't seem like the kind of person who takes lip."
