Tell me about it - Chap 1Dec 20th: 12:00 AM.: A cold winter night. Or rather a new day.Tell me about it - Chap 14 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Batman was on his usual night patrol. He made the roof top of a tall building as his operating point, from where he could have a clear view of the street, especially the museum, which, according to his sources, is the site of action for the night. He was alone. He insisted Robin to stay out of these chilly night patrols and concentrate on his studies. His grades were beginning to worry him. He had not faced such problem with Dick, he perfectly balanced between his studies and his work. Tim, on the other hand was so obsessed with his newly acquired Robin persona that he dreamt of flying the streets of Gotham all day. No wonder there was a protest from him to Bruce's decision, but the big man had the final word.
The night was colder than usual. Why could't Joker choose a better day to bother him? There was no reason why he should rob a museum, except to attract Batman's attention. "Crime is no fun withou

Parties were never my thing. I was required as a leader to attend them. Gallas. Balls. Appearances. Always I was told to go. Because I'm Wonder Woman and I have to do it for the team. It was so...stupid for someone like me to have to do this. The first heroes of Gotham were at a celebration for the first owner of a world-wide meausem. Mr. Banks. He was about 87 and very rich. Unfortunately...he was going to die any day from natural causes. Or so he has said. No. The heroes were not in their costumes. We were all in normal wear. Dresses. Suits. Tuxedos. The people were dancing under the lights hung in the trees of the meausem garden. Drinking Champagne and laughing with the music. This is were the night dawned upon us. Only little of them noticed.
The wind blew my hair from my shoulders and ruffled the skirt of my dress. My hip resting on a gargoyle of the meausem balcony. The nights shadows the only friend of the roof top. I sighed listening to the music sway the trees below me. I was

The war had ended in the night as quickly as it had begun. The city raged below, the people pulling together in their time of crisis, working to put back their broken city. Their homes. Their lives.
Two watchful figures stood on an overlooking hillside outside the city, their eyes shining in the glow of the fires below. A man and a boy. Silent. Their long capes swayed with the wind, though they were unmoved.
"It's strange to see them working together like that. Usually they're clawing each others throats," the boy said, breaking the lull.
He saw the man move, but only slightly. The darkness gave their emotions cover. "There will come a day when the world no longer needs heroes like you and me. Humanity will find that it's able to stand on its own, without out help," the man said to the younger as they watched over the work they had set in motion continuing in the city below.
"Maybe," the boy said quietly. He wanted to believe his mentor, but he had seen too much evil to thin

"Do you like men?"
Mikado sputtered, finally looking up from the manga Erika and Walker had lent him (forced on him was more like it) to find Kida kneeling in front of him, face pushed close to his. "W-where did this come from?"
"Oh, nothing." Kida bent closer, his elbows bending outwards. In the 90 degree weather he had ditched the white sweater, replacing it with a wife beater - a wife beater, Mikado had come to found out, liked to gap in the front and give him an unlimited view down Kida's shirt. He gulped. This was going to either turn into the most awkward conversation ever, or the the lamest joke ever, he couldn't decide which...
"Just that Seiji thinks you're secretly a homo or something." Kida leaned back, fiddling with the silver earring he'd bragged to Mikado made him look "manlier" but later complained itched like no other. "He seems to think you have the hots for Izaya."
Izaya? "Izaya!" Mikado stood up, not caring that the manga he'd been reading was practi

I wanted to be your everything; however, I wanted you to be nothing. It has gone on like this for a bit now. I make futile attempts to desecrate your confidence and fervor for that silly incompetent Goddess of yours, and you spit in my face metaphorically by keeping silent and stoic throughout my atrocious treatment during the commonplace mood swings I have. Our days spent together differ quite a bit from when we began but the nights I devote to watching you sleep in ignorance are all the same as they begun. Hot angry tears cascade down my supple, perfect cheeks while I make mental accusations about you in the still of this quiet night. Don't you understand how torn you make me? Does it disturb you to know that the only reason you are alive in this situation is because of my infatuation with you? Do you really mourn your people's predicament without any self-preservation? How come you don't give in already?
Do you ever return my desires Link?

The first time we were both sitting in the room together, getting ready to take the math test that would determine our placement. I was scatterbrained and throwing things around, trying to find the pencils that I had known I would need but had still just tossed in my purse. He was lounging backwards in his chair, looking for all the world as though he didn’t have a single care in the world, including the upcoming test. It annoyed me, that I was frantic and ready to scream, while someone else could be that relaxed.
I tested out of the class.
I don’t know if he did.
The second time I saw him, it was a few months after I arrived on campus. He was the one rushing and frantic this time, running across the square. He was probably late for class, though I had no way of knowing for sure. I was already lost in my own thoughts and ideas, deciding on my major and convincing people that yes, this is what I really want to do with my life. If they weren

“At least I have you guys.” You muttered to yourself as you pulled out an old cardboard box that was one tear away from falling apart. Glancing inside, you smiled, seeing that your comic books were still there. With a grunt, you lifted the heavy box onto your bed and pulled out the top three books; ‘Catwoman: When in Rome’, ‘Batman: Hush’, and ‘Batgirl: Batgirl Rises’. They were the first few graphic novels that you had gotten and they were the start of your Bat Family addiction, “You guys won’t leave me right?” You muttered, almost inaudible, as you leafed through ‘Hush.’
After curling up with the book, you stopped at t

"Get out!" A girl's voice shouted in exasperation, unbelievably audible, possibly even heard across the city. Squealing boyish laughter followed it, clearing feeding off of it. "I said to get out, Rex! Get out of my room!"
Rex laughed again, louder, nearly giggling with gleeful abandon. "I am out Emma!" He howled back at her triumphantly. "I'm way out here in the hallway!"
Shayera didn't need to get out of bed to see what was going on. She could visualize the scene from where she lay, nursing a migraine from being knocked over the head by Bizarro the previous night. Her head pounded as she grimaced, hoping the two could peacefully work it out themselves.

Bruce’s heart broke at the tears in your eyes as you blinked it him in disbelief before turning on your heel to leave him alone.
Alone is what he had.
Alone protected him… protected you.
That was what was important, right?
He sank down in the chair at his station in the lab, holding his head in his hands as what he’d just done sank in. He’d told you, the woman he loved, to leave- to get out of his life. And the reason he gave? He didn’t love you. The hurt in your eyes had torn him apart inside but he needed you to run. He needed you to run from him to someone who could keep you safe.
Someone who wasn’t a monster.
He ruffled a hand through his chocolate curls knowing there would be more gray hairs after this and then leaned forward to throw himself into his work as a distraction.
It didn’t work.

You spun in slow circles, taking in the giant, beautiful room. Against one wall was a king size four poster bed with eggshell white sheets that looked feather soft to the touch. Hanging from the four posters were golden lace curtains that glittered in the light from the window. The walls were painted a soft honey gold and seemed to sparkle gently as though someone had dumped glitter into the paint.
The dresser, side table, wardrobe, and bed were all made out of a strange light brown wood that also appeared to glitter softly. Looking out the window, you took in the beautiful sight of Asgard in all its glory. Tall twisting spires rose in the distance, from your room you had the perfect view of Frigga's famous gardens.
Better hurry, Lady Sif is probably waiting...
You walked over to the wardrobe and gently pulled it open, not wanting to damage anything. Inside the wardrobe were dresses of every color you could think of, all made of different materials and below those were row upon

"The chitauri." Loki said closing his eyes slowly before opening them again and tilting his head to look at Bruce. "The aliens? Why on earth would they want to take her?" Steve raised an eyebrow at him.
"Not just them. I was not their only ally." He leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees. "Oh, do please take your sweet time in telling us," Tony said sarcastically as he rolled his eyes. Loki ran a hand through his tangled hair before lifting his head to look at Thor, "It is an old friend of Asgard. The Enchantress."

After Natasha had unhooked you from all the various wires and machines, she lent you a pair of clothes to borrow for the time being.
“So what stores do you usually shop at?” Natasha questioned, looking over at you as you walked through the front doors of the mall.
“Ummm…” Do they even have the same stores? “Just any store’s fine I guess.”
“Alright then.” For the next three hours, you and Natasha bonded over clothing shopping and had racked up over $600 on Tony’s credit card.
“Isn’t that a lot?” You asked for probably the millionth time. Natasha looked at you before hefting up one of the loaded shopping bags higher onto her shoulder, “Nah, it’ll barely make a dent. Come on, let’s find the guys.”
Natasha led you further into the mall until you spotted a store you recognized, the Apple store.

Standing in an elevator with a group of sweaty avengers was no walk in the park. First of all, you were packed together like sardines and second of all, it didn't smell to hot.
"What kind of food do you guys usually eat?" You asked, trying to make small talk in the elevator.
"Anything Bruce cooks, he's the only one who can cook," Steve answered, tapping his foot in time with the soft elevator music in the background.
"So, Dr. Banner is the one who cooks around here?"
"Yeah," Clint glanced up, "J.A.R.V.I.S., what time is it?"
"3 o' clock, sir."
"He probably already started, I think I might go shower before we eat," Clint stated.
"I think I shall to," Thor said.
"Am I right to presume that I'll be the only one getting off?" You asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yup," Natasha said as the elevator doors dinged open, "We'll see you in about an hour."
"Alright!" You gave a small wave as you walked out, the elevator closing behind you.
The elevator had opened into a short hallway with a do

Lucy watched Loki manipulate the water in the bowl. It was a simple exercise that he did to practice whenever he was bored or restless. Grinning mischievously, Lucy pushed some of the water out of line and it splashed in his face. "Hey!" The dripping god looked over at her, and she tried to look as innocent as possible without cracking a smile. Loki's eyes shined with mischief and he shoved the water all over the girl. Lucy was now soaked, and Loki was laughing, very proud of himself.
"You know, when you get back on someone it's a bit extreme," she said, shaking out her hair, sending drips of water everywhere.
Before Loki could retort with a comeback, Thor showed up in the doorway. "Lucy, leave us." 'Uh oh, he's angry again,' Lucy thought. She slipped out the doorway, stealing one last look at her friends and brothers. Brothers. That was something she was getting used to.
"Loki, we must!" she heard Thor say before she was out of ear shot.

His eyebrows narrowed and he frowned, knowing exactly what had happened. He felt horrible for telling Asami about the kiss and wished she had never brought it up; that was the kind of thing that Mako should have told her about, not him. But that's impossible, Loki's right in front of me...unless...
You suddenly remembered something Loki had said about the Enchantress being a shift shaper. "Um, Thor?" You asked nervously, unsure how to word the question you wanted to ask.
He stopped and turned to you, Loki turning with him, "What is it Lady (Y/N)?"
"Do you feel like you're being...watched?" You asked turning to search in the window for the reflection of the Loki look-a-like. Thor raised an eyebrow, letting go of his brother's arm to place a hand on your shoulder, "Do you feel as though you're being watched?"
You rubbed your arm, which was suddenly covered in goose bumps, "Yes?" Thor turned to his brother,

I never heard my mother sing when she was well, but my father said she was an angel descended from heaven to grace the world with her gift. It seemed as if he were guiding my mother through the turns as he had most likely done to court her. He would tire quickly though and sit back down.
