Steve-x-Reader: Raining Men
Steve Rogers, the one and only Captain America, had never believed himself to be a particularly soulful man- in fact he’d never even considered such a thought. But despite this, his live-in roommate and ward- (F/n) (L/n) had decided that he housed hidden qualities that made him the perfect ‘Soul-Brutha’ material.
Now what this actually meant, Steve couldn't say. But the man did know was that he would enjoy being a potential Soul Brutha, if it meant that (F/n) was happy. And from all the obvious signs, the young woman was.
Where she had once been mistrusting and skittish, she now seemed at ease, laughing and joking with him on near constant basis. It was a nice change from the abused, disheartened eighteen year-old that Steve had found on the streets nearly twelve months ago.
Now, after the near

The Winter Soldier - Capter 4 (Final Chapter): Missing Assassin
You had fallen asleep on the couch a few times – or past out, you didn’t know what it was anymore. You had followed the news, which had, as you expected, broadcasted the whole fight between Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D. from a helicopter. You swore you saw Bucky several times, but when he was on a mission he didn’t seem the man you knew from your times alone. The media made him seem cold and cruel, even though you knew that was not who he really was or wanted to be.
When the wound on your stomach started to bleed again, you took out the first aid kit you had stored somewhere in your kitchen. The improvised stitches had let go. With some paper towels and alcohol you cleaned your stomach before attempting to stitch the wound again.
You bit down on your teeth hard as the needle went in the sensitive skin. You cursed softly thinking about the morphine you had left behind in the Hydra lab. You wouldn’t

‘Avengers assemble!’ Nick Fury’s voice echoed through Stark Tower. ‘I repeat Avengers assemble!’
You were wobbling nervously on your feet. You had obviously heard of the Avengers after everything that happened in New York the last couple of years, but even though you were a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, you had never actually met them.
You had only been an agent in training during the attack of New York and when S.H.I.E.L.D. got attacked by Hydra you were knocked unconscious by one of the members of the S.T.R.I.K.E. team. You were one of the few agents Fury still fully trusted.
When he had come to you only several days ago to ask you to join the Avengers, you had laughed in his face.
‘I don’t have any special powers!’ you had cried out.
Fury had frowned at you, probably remembering your ‘vibes’, as you called your instinctive shivers you would get every time something bad was going to happen.
‘You may think you are not special, ag
Far from home- 2I felt the dawn’s fingers of light prise open my eyelids. Before, I had liked to sleep long into the morning. But that was before. Now daylight hours were precious, and not to be wasted. Yawning, I stretched, when all of a sudden a shadow fell over me. Before I knew it, I was upside-down, suspended by my left leg. I realised fairly quickly with alarm the giant was awake (evidently), holding me by the foot with one huge hand, which hid my foot and ankle. Peering suspiciously into my face, I noticed he was only sitting up, yet could lift me clear off the ground. I fought the urge to: scream, kick, writhe and curse at him. Instead I put on my bravest face, and put my so-called silver tongue to the test.Far from home- 21 year ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

Fionna blushed a deep red as tears blurred her vision. "Marshall! Don't do this to me… Not now…" She looked down at the vampire feeling confused and scared.
Suddenly Marshall sat up and exclaimed, "Faking it! Faking it! My shirt is like full of cream puffs right now." He pulled out the stake, watching Fionna's face. "Glob, Fionna, you're like the realest person I know."
Her eyebrows knit together and she balled up her fist, hitting Marshall across the face.
"Ahhh my cheek meat!" He cried.
She jumped off the stone alter and rushed down the path. Her hands were fists by her sides. Cake was quick to follow.
"Aww Fionna don't let that jerk get to ya," Cake told her.
Fionna furiously wiped away her tears. Her cheeks were flushed red with anger and embarrassment. He had gone too far this time. She couldn't believe she had fallen for it.
"Fionna wait!" Marshall called after her. "Heyy

Nico stared off into the distance, gazing over the green hills of Half-Blood from his cabin porch. He recalled the time he’d tried to block out of his memory, the time when he had just arrived and met Percy. He was just a kid then, and his Mythomagic game was his life. Then he came to Camp Half-Blood. It was all a blur: he’d seen his teacher turn into a manticore, whisked off on a flying bus/sports car/chariot by a conceited Apollo and dropped off at a camp where there were kids like him, kids of Greek lineage. And not just any Greek, they were the kids of Greek gods. He was incredibly impressed by Percy- he rescued Nico from his school and brought him here. He also had an awesome pen-sword, Riptide. Annabeth had gone and jumped off of her cliff and Luke had captured her after; it all seemed very unreal and cartoon-action life. Almost like a dream. Nico leaned against the Hades cabin porch rail

Author's Note: So, I've been rewatching the series, gearing up for the relaunch this friday (SQUEEE!) and as I was watching 'Depths' this bunny started nibbling and I couldn't shake it. I had to write it. I didn't want to - man, I really didn't want to! - but I did anyway and here it is. I hate it. Uterly, totally, comlpetely, and all because it made me cry. I kid not. Full on sobbing while I wrote it and I really don't want to post, but I will anyway because they say misery loves company and so I'm taking you all down with me!

The battle on the beach came to an abrupt halt as the two powerhouses stopped, face to face and chest to chest.
No one moved, no one dared breathe.
And then Aqualad jerked his arm forward and plunged the blade of water completely through Nightwing's sternum and out between his shoulder blades.
"You lose," Kaldur hissed in his former teammates face and pulled the
FFM July 2 - The Gas maskLet me tell you a story about waking up under water. No, not literally waking up under water, but that very same feeling. It's also a story about oxygen. Have any of you ever thought about oxygen, how important it is? Oh, sure, you've held your breath for sixty seconds, felt that surge of pleasant panic. Pleasant because all it takes is to open your mouth and let that sweet, sweet oxygen come back in. Except have you ever thought about what would happen if at that very instant, when you've held your breath for as long as you could someone would come along and dunk you head-first into water? You would suddenly realize you have no power in your limbs to fight; your grandmother could drown you then. If you draw in breath, you will die, but you have to draw in breath. You have to or you will die. No-one really wants to think any further than that, lest they really do start choking.FFM July 2 - The Gas mask6 years ago in General Non-Fiction More Like This

To Catch MeIt was another one of those nights where Dick had sought out for his boyfriend's warmth so as to sleep peacefully. He was currently curled up against Wally's bare back, rising and falling with each breath, both submersed in a deep sleep. Dick was in a dream. He dreamt that he was back at the circus, performing one of his favorite routines alongside his loving parents. He was laughing and grinning widely, enjoying the feel of flying through the air with so much ease. Outside his dreams, Dick was slowly rolling away from Wally across the bed, heading straight for the edge of the bed.To Catch Me4 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This

Back in reality, Dick rolled again, jerkily, his face scrunching up in wariness. Wally remained sound asle
Samantha's RunI wasn't afraid when I fell through the world, not at first. I think I was too surprised to be afraid, as if what I was seeing was too impossible to comprehend. It was dark, yet there was light, suffusing the air like dust motes and I could discern any one source, and it gave the entire space a cloudy impression, as if there were bulges and ridges scattered about, impressions of terrain in pockets here and there, trailing off and dissolving once more into the darkness. I floated, weightless, and it wasn't until I focused on this – that I was flying in this empty space – that I fell.Samantha's Run9 months ago in Short Stories More Like This

Renfield's ClockThe package had no label or return address. It was just left on my front porch, wrapped in layers and layers of packing tape and cardboard, square and slim, about a foot and half in length. It was heavy as I picked it up and rather than open it there on the front porch, I brought it inside, and sealed my doom.Renfield's Clock1 year ago in Short Stories More Like This
Inside, I found a clock. It was clearly old, the rim ornately decorated with motifs of vines, and while I was no expert the material was suspiciously reminiscent of gold. It had to be valuable. I was bewildered as to why I'd find such a thing left on my front porch. I turned it over, inspecting each side of it, and that was when the note that had been tacked to the back slipped off.
'To the person who receives this,' the note read, 'I don't know you and I'm really sorry, but I had to get rid of this. It's killed both my husband and children and now it wants me. I'm sorry.'
For a long moment, I just sat there, the note in my hands, s

It all started with waking up feeling sick that morning. It wasn’t the laying-in-bed-and-I-feel-like-I’m-dying sick, but more the headache mixed with general miserableness that would prevent any sort of productivity for the work day. Despite not feeling well, you had pulled yourself out of bed and made it as far as taking a shower before starting to feel worse, at which point it was “highly recommended” that you stay home for the day.
It had been none other than Magnus Martinsson – the sweet, sarcastic, sometimes rather dense but still forgivable Ystad detective that had made the suggestion. He was well aware that even if you had pneumonia you would try to work on something. Admirable as your dedication was, Magnus was more concerned about you not coming down with anything worse, and that was what prompted him to make sure you got back in bed while he prepared to leave for work by himself.

Working at S.H.I.E.L.D. Could be frustrating. Some days were enjoyable, others not so much, some days could be boring and some could be surprising. Today happened to be a surprising day.
It was 09:15 am, time to start your seven hour shift for the day. As you neared your office you began to smell flowers, roses to be precise. 'Did I leave my perfume in there last night?' You thought to yourself, remembering how you couldn't find your favourite scented perfume this morning.
You gingerly opened the door to your office and peered in. Rose petals were scattered all over your desk with a heart shaped note placed in the centre.
You walked over and picked the note up, it read,
'Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Sugar is sweet,
But not as sweet as you."
"Corny. " you said to yourself as you looked over the note. "No signature huh? Looks like I have a mystery admirer. I'll have to go to the professionals..."

Mangog. The name rang oddly familiar in your mind. Too familiar, and it made you feel unsettled. You had become accustomed to not having the memories of your past, and though you were not content to live without answers, it hadn’t been such present thought in your mind since Odin had told you about Nidavellir. But now…now you sorely wished you had your memory. Knowing that you knew the name Mangog was all you could recall, but there had to be more than that, didn’t there?
“Are you well, _________?” Eitri inquired, noting how you had become suddenly withdrawn and distant. Your facial features were tight with concern and frustration, and only Loki could understand why.

You woke in the early hours of the morning (though how exactly you could have known it was “morning” in Nidavellir was something you couldn’t fathom) well rested and feeling rather peaceful. Still in a half asleep daze, you were awake enough to feel Loki’s arms around you, his body pressed close to yours in a sort of protecting way. You could hear his slow and steady breathing; his breath on your neck. As a soft smile came to your lips, it occurred to you that in all the nights Loki and you had shared a bed like this, there were only a handful of times that the two of you had ever gotten close – and most of those time you had been the one getting closer to him. It was nice to feel his arms a

You turned around to find Natasha waiting in the doorway. She was wearing a long black dress with matching silk gloves and a long pearl necklace.

"So do you, Nat. I'm so happy you're here." You said, excitement filling your voice.
"Where else would I be?" She smiled and gave your hand a squeeze. "So are you ready to become Mrs. . ." Natasha said, but was interrupted by Tony barging in through the door.
He was wearing one of his fanciest suits, not the Iron Man kind, thank God, and was holding a single red rose in one hand and a glass of white wine in the other. You took the wine from him and set it down, afraid he would spill it on you, and gave him a big hug.

As Loki looked into your (e/c) eyes, he actually felt that this was a good thing. He wanted to help you, and this was the only way. But that didn’t mean he wasn’t aware of the risk involved. Yes, there was the “we might die” factor, but that wasn’t the most pressing concern to him. If, during the process of sharing his thoughts and memories, you came across his plans with Algrim, well…he didn’t care to think what would come after that. Would you hate him? Would you run from him? Would you turn against him? Or did he have a chance to persuade you, to show you that h

She barely missed some of the cars that almost hit her. But, just as she was about to get to the side of the street that I was on (I didn’t run away for some reason, I just stood there...), a loud honking noise came from my left, it was a truck. It seemed like it wouldn’t be able to slow down or anything or else other people in other cars would get killed. I don’t know what overcame me but, I ran to the girl, grabbed her arm, and pulled her to the sidewalk. I didn’t realize I pulled her so hard that she crashed into me and we both fell onto the sidewalk, her on top of me...
