Poison Ive from Batman DC comics (first appear in Batman #181 (June 1966))
Because beautyful things can be danger too >
I wanted draw Poison Ivy as firs (it's my fav female DC character), when I started this pic yesterday in contest folder was no pic with her but well... it took me too much hours so when I finished there was already few pics with Poison Ivy ;__; Anyway I put here many details as I could, probably it's not enaugh but I tried at least I have today some crisis with this pic too, wasn't sure why I even trying because there will be a lot more better stuff... but why not? Challenging ourself is good, right?
What do a dead man, a cruise ship, and an emu have in common? [...] That's correct! Nothing!
Well, well, well! What do we have here, my beloved friends and followers? Could it possibly be that dear Ponnie managed to come out of her hiding hole and actually has some new pieces lined up to upload for the viewing pleasure of you wonderful and adorable people? Why, I do believe it is! And did I just completely turn around and write the first half of this description as a riddle? You bet your bottom dollar that I did. And all things considered, mostly with who is the main star of this piece is, can you really blame me? Yeah, probably not.
Regardless, and to be perfectly honest with you, I have to say that there really isn't much to talk about in relation to this piece, or the one that I'm planning on uploading later on as well. The whole story behind these two drawings is that simply, I was just looking around some old files on my computer that I never finished and I stumbled across this as one of them. Yep. And believe me, I have plenty of unfinished stuff on my computer -- but I just kind of have a soft spot for the old sketches, and that's why I never deleted them Anyway, I wanted to find something that was possibly worth some amount of quality, because I wanted to try and sale a few of my pieces next year for a convention that I want to go to. (Maybe get a foot in the door? Maybe just get some extra cash? Who knows.)
And thus, in the process of looking for something that didn't drive me completely crazy with all the errors and issues, I stumbled across two three year old sketches that I did when I was really obsessed with Batman: Arkham City at the time. One was of Edward, as you see above, and one was of The Joker. (That was far worse than the original Riddler sketch, but we'll get onto that later~)
Obviously, I'll be uploading The Joker piece that I did sometime after this, but to help tide you over until then, here is the Edward Nygma -- or rather the final version of the Riddler drawing that I did so long ago. Originally he was in his Arkham City suit jacket, but considering that I hated the way it looked, and there were already many issues with the drawing already -- I just basically reworked his entire lower body and decided to draw him in his Arkham *Origins* outfit, instead of how he will end up looking later on in City.
And yes, before you guys even say anything, I suppose that when you stop to think about it, he's not *technically* The Riddler just yet, and simply just Edward Nashton giving Batman a hard time under the guise of Enigma, but the fact still remains. He is who he is, and who he is deep down is The Riddler, and that's why I love him so much.
So yeah, that's really all there is to it. I wanted to fix up an old drawing and breathe some life back into it with my newer style, and fixed all of the little issues and problems. And so I did. Did the outcome turn out far more simple than I expected it to? Sure! Could I have made a more complex background as I did with the Joker one? Of course! But in the end, I just really wanted to play around with several styles and things and see what would end up happening if I decided to revisit an old drawing. And so here we are. Personally, I do like how it came out -- I think it's simple, but simple in a good way.
Will I end up making this a print or anything worth something? Who knows! But until that time comes, allow me to simply take this moment to personally thank you all so very much for looking at this new drawing of mine! And of course, just as I always say at the end of very description: every comment, fave, and view honestly means the world to me! I love you all so much, and until next time!
(c): Batman, Edward Nygma/The Riddler, Arkham Origins, DC Comics and all other various characters and licenses do not belong to dear sweet Ponnie! Nope, not even close to belonging to me! Despite what you might think, they actually belong to their rightful owners and the people that are responsible for creating them and giving them to us to enjoy! Which, of course, if you haven't guessed quite yet, is not me whatsoever! I am not claiming ownership over any of the characters, or the series or anything, and instead -- I am simply borrowing the characters for my own fun and drawing related silliness! The only thing that really does belong to me is this drawing! So all in all, what I'm trying to say is this! Please no suing, for I am an artistic hobo and I honestly cannot afford the lawsuits at all! Thanks!
Some minor tweaks, nothing overly redone. Gave her some of those infamous Batman ‘armor plates.’ Not a lot but more protective in certain places than others, mostly the torso. I removed her shoulder guard on her right arm to give her maximum torque without the hindering of movement. Those rings on her fingers act like brass knuckles giving her more punching power. Like I said, not much in a redesign, just some adjustments.
