A warning to the people
One of the questions I get a lot are "who do you buy ____ from?"
I always assumed that all sites were pretty equal,
but I recently have been, and still am, dealing with a dispute form a contact website,
they have broken their our rules but still refusing to refund the purchase,
and because of the way they worded the product paypal is refusing to step up.
I'm pretty burned,
and I know others have been screwed over,
or have had major problems from dealing with people online.
As well as people who have had amazing experiences.
Here is my list,
A list of the Good and the one Ugly I have received.
For Contacts, Wigs, and other things I have bought onli
What doesn't kill you makes you strongerI just went back and read some of the horrible comments I've received from people in the past. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger4 years ago in Personal More Like This
I remember how hurtful it was and how much I wanted to just dissapear from it all. I felt helpless and hopeless.
The internet can be a terrible place.
When people aren't accountable for what they say they feel a certain sense of power. The ability to judge others without being judged ourselves is a position of immense dominance. It's exhilarating to exercise that dominance over another person.
But now, looking back, I realize that it doesn't bother me anymore. I don't even bother hiding, deleting or responding to those comments because it just doesn't bug me. I feel a resounding "eh",
I keep those comments up so that people can see the kind of behaviour that people reduce themselves to when they're behind a computer screen. Every "this is shit" or ""he" is just a dyke and a "she"" has meaning to me now. It means that I've overcome something that I never would have thought possible. I'm not hu

I've been thinking for the last month or so about FDP's next charity event. It's been a while since Nova's Pray for Japan campaign (relief for tsunami victims) and I figured that it might be time for another project.
I've been talking for years about shaving my head to cosplay Aang. He's my favourite character in The Last Airbender, and although I've cosplayed him before that was a while ago (aka I'm not satisfied with that costume XD). To kick my ass into gear to do this, I've decided to shave my head for cancer research. Shaving off hair for cancer fundraisers is a pretty common thing to do, but this time there's a twist when you make a donation of any size to any cancer society (I've provided links to some major ones, but feel free to donate to any local organizations or organizations in your country that I may have missed!) reply to this message and include 1) Where you made a donation to 2) Who you want to shave Aang's head: Sokka, Zuko, Azula, Katara or Toph
Anime Revolution 2013 ReviewJust like the Animethon review this review is pretty late too XD and just as with all of my other reviews I have to cut out so many details and special mentions otherwise this would go on forever. Anime Revolution was at the end of August and it was the first con that FDP has been together at in a long time. It was amazing not just to spend time with and run panels with the group but also to hang out with so many of our friends from Vancouver. We also got to see many people from Vancouver and abroad again and we got to meet many people from all over who came to AR this year for the first time!!! I can't thank everyone who attended our events/panels and came up to us to say hi and ask for photos enough. Thank you all so much for your support it was an absolute pleasure and honour to meet everyone we met this year and to get to see familiar faces again.
As with last year Anime Revolution was professionally run by staff who were bus

You're the light of my life, my sun and star, the donut of my morning... well... you get the point.
It has been a very full five years of being married, complete with all the ups and downs of most couples, and I don't regret a moment I've spent with you. I still love you as madly as I did when I met you 6 years ago and I hope to love you just as madly for many more years to come.
I love you. I cherish you. I adore you.
Thank you for being with me. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for being my friend, my lover, my life fullfiller -the stars in my heaven.
Thank you for letting me be as cliche as I possibly can towards you lol.
I owe you the world but all I have right now is my love so please accept that with a little iou for the day I can buy a house with you and ride off into the sunset for our happily ever after.
Your ever adoring wife,
Thank you for 100 000 Subscribers on YoutubeWe just hit 100 000 subscribers on Youtube and I am floored. It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating 50 000, then 80 000. 100 000 is larger than the population of a number of countries (I LOOKED IT UP XD) I can't believe that you folks have stuck with us and our silly little videos. We've been doing what we love for 6 years now and putting it on camera, I never thought that doing that would make us one of the most subscribed to cosplay-related Youtube channels out there.Thank you for 100 000 Subscribers on Youtube1 year ago in Personal More Like This
The support we've received over the years has been astounding, and I can't thank every single one of you enough for being interested in our cosplays, our videos and our lives. We're not amazing. We're not the best. We're just a bunch of wacky people who love the hobby and the creative/social experiences that it brings. Looking back from where we started I can retrospectively see that we've all come so far, and I feel that our videos reflect not just a growth in our cosplay/video work, but also our growth

Mesti Datang! The HobbyCon 2013 Experience!Earlier this year, my friends and I were invited to be overseas guests for HobbyCon in Sabah, Malaysia.Mesti Datang! The HobbyCon 2013 Experience!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Time flew by very fast, and before we knew it...
Our first day was spent doing a lot of eating, thanks to our guide Alyssa I will justify it as us fueling up for an action-packed weekend! We tried nasi lemak for the first time (LOVED IT), had some shaved ice desserts after, then a big dinner of clay pot rice, stir-fry noodles with clams, really tasty chicken wings, etc. and THEN we still raided Pick N' Pay for our midnight snacks because we love convenience stores and we wanted to try things we don't have in Manila.
We planned our cosplays ahead with Team Kachang Puteh, the guests from Singapore. Our theme for the first day of HobbyCon was Shingeki no Kyojin!

Let me just preface this by saying that Animethon was my kinda con. I can't express enough how much of a good time I had there and how blown away I was at the amount of people who came to see us at the con and how much love we received. I was warm fuzzies all weekend what with meeting everyone :3
We also got to stay with our friend, :iconsensei-kay: who lives in Edmonton, so it was an absolute pleasure to really spend so quality time with him as well!

Long time; no talk. How are you all doing?
Since this year is the year of the apocalypse you can expect more Left 4 Dead 2 videos. I'm definitely thinking about making some Keith and Ellis derp videos. The current winning idea is 'How to with Keith.'
Oh, yes. Chaos shall follow.
I'm ALMOST done with a second Blame it on the Cosplay video; THE REVENGE. Seriously, this is so so so so much better than the first one. I really can't wait. The only reason I haven't uploaded it yet is because the contacts for Lestat haven't arrived yet. Once his part is filmed then it shall be up for your pleasure!
You can definitely expect more Marauders. These guys will have plenty more episodes and silly shorts to come.
What else is worth mentioning?
We -might- be filming a final special Sora Show video. This is only a possible at the moment. So don't get your hopes up too much. It might happen. It might not, however it is being talked about.
I will get the Demyx Time 15 bloopers to you. I'm half

For those who haven't seen our latest video on Youtube, or check the blog on our NEW WEBSITE (www.parleproductions.webs.com), we're doing a new fundraiser !
Jenn and I, together with several others from our group, will be attempting a "24+ Hours Of Gaming" fundraiser, starting 6th April 2012, in support of the charity SpecialEffect!
WHO ARE SPECIALEFFECT?
"SpecialEffect is a charity dedicated to helping ALL young people with disabilities to enjoy computer games. For these children, the majority of computer games are simply too quick or too difficult to play, and we can help them and their parents to find out which games they CAN play, and how to adapt those games that they can't."
To see an example of the work SpecialEffect do, watch this video, showing Ella and Chloe, able to enjoy games thanks to the help of the SpecialEffect team! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btHMqz-RpH8&featurelayer_embedded

2012- A Year in ReviewJanuary2012- A Year in Review3 years ago in Personal More Like This
The beginning of the year was pretty good. My birthday party was pretty relaxed-- just a short dinner with good friends at one of our favourite restaurants.
My first cosplay of the year was:
Katniss Everdeen from the book trilogy-- The Hunger Games
Hunger Games played a big part in my cosplay life for the first half of the year and I was hoping to be able to end the year with another Katniss costume, but I ran out of time to make it. I was going to do her interview dress as it was described in the book since I was really disappointed with a lot of the costume designs from the movie
I also did the Reaping Dress for Katniss in January.
February was pretty laid back as well. I continued with the Katniss costumes-- doing the Chariot outfit (from the book)
an updated Arena (book) cosplay to Tsukino Con. twinfools and I were only at Tsukino Con for a day. It's actually a really e

This is something I've been talking about with Kelly for a while now, and I have recently (after some serious talk) gained my mothers support in the venture.
However, I can't do it for free. This is where you guys come in.

Anime Revolution Review + Avatar VideoAnime Revolution ended a few days ago and I'm still riding that con high! In my opinion it was a stellar con with a really clean and professional atmosphere/vibe. It was the con's first year, but to me it ran (and looked) like a much more experienced con. I've heard a lots of criticism of the con, but not from the people I ran into at the con itself. Everyone I came across seemed to be in really good spirits and had a positive opinion of the con. I know that there are some tensions are Vancouver cons at the moment, but in my opinion the more the better! I'm not going to side with one con or another, to me that'd be silly, I want all the cons to succeed cause if my hometown was con central than I'd never be bored!!! RWBY Episode 8 review******WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK******RWBY Episode 8 review2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Man! What a great episode of RWBY this week!! We got to see more action and characters, not to mention that the episode was FINALLY LONGER!!! Nora's weapon is now my favorite of Team JNPR's, a grenade launcher/hammer-like weapon. I really liked how we have all our main characters together in one place fighting two of the toughest Grimm we've seen in the series yet. It looked like Jaune proved his leadership skills as well as everyone's teamwork strengthening their bonds. This is by far the best developed episode I've seen yet. We see all of the characters mature into more well-adept fighters and I'm really looking forward to see how their teamwork will work out in the future. In the last scene, we see Torchwick plotting some grand scheme to take over Vale, gathering Dust and setting his next target toward Beacon.
So where does the series go from here? Any thoughts, predictions, speculations, if any? What did you guys think?

Chest surgery, February 2011: a life changing experience for me, really. I can swim, I can use the men's showers and locker room at the gym, I walk with my chest out instead of slumped inward... it made summer a time of enjoyment rather than one of hot discomfort and longing. I'm looking forward to my revision in Feb 2012
Allergic Reaction/Face Spots Post-Surgery, February 2011-July 2011: I was on top of the world! I was so confident in my looks and I will even venture to say that I was vain and self-absorbed. I was hit was a major breakout of spots and bumps on my face after surgery. it was so embarrassing and it really took a toll of my confidence and my willingness to cosplay/be on camera/be in public. It was such a little thing, but it effected me so profoundly... it really forced me to think about what I
