When I heard Batman The Dark Knight returns was going to be the last of that series I thought of all the characters who could have movie designs done in that style. With Bane in the last movie who better to show up than Azrael/Jean Paul Valley in his Knightfall costume? I used a Movie Masters Batman body, ML Black Panther head (rough texture knocked down with Acetone) LCBH Darkness Hands, DC Universe Toyman neck piece, Azbats leg spines, and created the chest light using fodder parts/straps. Now Azrael was ready to avenge Batman and take down Bane! Will he show up like this in the new movie? Probably not, but now I'm wondering what other movie-style versions of Azrael could have happened!
Unfortunately Mattel's 6" Young Justice line ends with Superboy and Miss Martian 2-pack. But there's so many more characters in the series that need to be made! Here's one, the brash and high-spirited Wonder Girl, Cassie. She was made from a Artemis body, resculpted Super Girl head, and Violet Lantern Wonder Woman lower arms. Now Cassie can fly high and join the Young Justice team battling foes alongside her friends!
I finally started working on cosplay again (It's been too long!) and this is my in-progress Cheshire Cat from Young Justice Mask. It's all molded out of clay at the moment and once I finish tweaking it, I'll be making a negative mold out of algenate and then a positive mold out of plaster. After that I intend on experimenting with Vaccuforming to construct the Mask I will wear. So, it's definitely a work in progress with a lot of steps left to complete, but I'm excited about it
After quite a few emails requesting a Young Justice: Invasion Superboy that was a bit more grown up I figured I'd take a crack at it. The body is a medium build 6" buck, head from the YJ Superboy, lower legs from Sportsmaster, and sculpted belt, pouches, and knees. The 'S' is a decal printed out on Testors white backed inkjet decal paper sprayed with their decal sealer which makes the flexible plastic part.
Finally got to start working on my Cheshire Mask again. Unfortunately, Gundammrw and I ran out of time to work on his vacuum form contraption so I opted to make my mask out of leather instead and it worked out quite well! Leather is a miraculous material!
So I basically used my plaster form I molded and lay the wet leather over it and worked it into the initial shape. I let it dry a bit and then used a pin tool to carve/indent all the lines and detail.
Next step is leather paint! I'm so excited for this costume!
Basically a modification for the stock DC Collectibles Red Hood, I was able to make him look like his normal appearance here. The lower blade-gauntlets were replaced with NECA's Colonel Stars and Stripes lower arms, face resculpted without the nose/mouth using Aves Apoxie Sculpt, and a full repaint along with some added leg straps. The back of his knees, arms, and hips were modded for a better range of motion as well. For anyone wanting his more classic appearance this is great start!
