---------------- A little information about these characters. -Flash (Barry Allen), the fastest man alive. Created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Harry Lampert, the original Flash first appeared in Flash Comics #1 (January 1940) -Superman (Clark Kent) is a fictional character, a superhero that appears in comic books published by DC Comics, and is widely considered an American cultural icon. Superman was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, high school students living in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1933; the character was sold to Detective Comics, Inc. (later DC Comics) in 1938. Superman first appeared in Action Comics #1 (June 1938) and subsequently appeared in various radio serials, television programs, films, newspaper strips, and video games.
This is my loving spoof of the iconic Crisis On Infinite Earths #1 cover originally by master George Perez whom deserves all praise and adoration.
Pariah screams as Superman, Firestorm, Cyborg, Blue Beetle (Ted Kord), Lily, Maxwell, Green Lantern (John Stewart) and Batman tumble through space Harbinger looks on with stoic resignation. And that's the Monitor's eye back there in the white part for what it's worth. All the DC characters presented in this piece appeared on the original CoIE #1 cover. Firestorm and Green Lantern weren't wearing the exact costumes shown here though, but I wanted to only use versions of the characters that are in the game, hence Earth-2 Superman is actually shown here as Kingdom Come Superman.
I decided to try the contest, too...with SHAZAM!!!
Captain Marvel first appeared in "WHIZ COMICS" #2 (1940) published by Fawcett, but due to some legal stuff, his publication stopped in 1953. Later on in 1972, he found a welcome home at DC Comics becoming one of the most popular characters in the DC universe. I drew the "NEW 52" version where he first made an appearance in a back story in "Justice League #7". No longer 'Captain Marvel', he is now only known as "SHAZAM"!
